Srixon W-506 Drivers

Srixon W-506 Drivers

DESCRIPTION

At 450cc, the W-506 is also the most forgiving driver we’ve ever created with a larger elliptical hitting zone that extends from high toe to low heel matching the common strike patterns of all golfers. In other words, we’ve put the forgiveness where you need it.

I was looking for a driver to replace my non-conforming "Perfect Driver" that I have been using for a long time. I have owned and tried so many drivers and my perfect driver just beat them. Now I'd like to play on a USGA sanction game and I needed something to replace it. I went to a golf show and tried all the new drivers out there and I do not see anything I like and they are expensive.
I went to a local driving range and I saw the Srixon W-506 and hit it. Wow! it's like my "perfect driver" but longer and it's always in the middle of the range. Went to Puetz store nearby and tried the Srixon W-506 10.5 with graffaloy regular shaft. It did built my confidence, the feel is very good and hit it very long. So it is now my permanent driver. I'd play a round with it and I shoot 84. First time I shoot in the 80's. My friends keep asking what's the name of it, tried it and like it. My brother wants me to buy him one for his bday.

Ah man I hit this club out of my buddies bag, I hadnt played with him in a while and was driverless at the time. Stiff shaft and not to big of a head I gave it a swing. I have never hit the ball so consistantly of the tee with any club. I felt I could actually swing at the ball, with the confidence it gave me. I recently bought one I found online for cheap. For the prize and the quality/performance, I would definatly pay more.

I'm an average every now and then golfer. I've tried lots of drivers and this by far excedes any I've tried before. I have a bad slice on my drive that I have a hard time controlling. Since buying this driver golf has become more enjoyable. I actually hit a green that was 310 from the box with this driver. I have much better accuracy as this club is extremely forgiving. I would recommend trying this driver to anyone looking for a forgiving driver that can bomb it out there. My fairway driving percentage is way up due to this driver and the fact I'm playing more now because this club makes golf more fun! I got it with the standard Mitsu Stiff Shaft brand new off Ebay for 90 and it's worth 300!

I was looking for a driver that I could swing a little easier (went with a R vs. S flex) and hit some more fairways, willing to give up some distance for forgiveness.

I chose the W-506 after reading a bunch of club reviews as well as shaft reviews on the NV65. I figured choosing a higher loft, 10.5, combined with the lower flight NV would give me a nice mid flight blah blah blah.

Nice looking driver, easy to setup even though it looks a bit closed compared to my current stick, but I guess it just doesn't really seem to fit my swing.

I get pretty random flights, some balloon, some bore, some actually do what I thought it would. I know my 10 handicapper swing can be pretty suspect but same day testing with my other drivers showed this one to be much more variable.

Not the longest driver I have ever hit (that title belongs to those crazy Butler SST things in my garage) but certainly long enough. I usually drive it 240 - 250 and this was generally closer to the lower end of that range.

Since this is the first NV shafted driver I have ever hit I may try to reshaft it with something a little more lively. If it changes the performance significantly I will post another review.

The W-506 has outstanding feel/sound, plenty of distance, and a great visual set-up. The Grafalloy ProLaunch 65 shaft i have greatly helps... plus the invisible Srixon technology (see there website) has me convinced this is one of the best drivers out there. Tested all major brands out there... went w/Srixon... highly recommend this club... its a 'legitimate sleeper' that won't be in everyone's bag.

Add to my old review, the Srixon is a good driver, but really bad quality.
After using the driver 4 months the weight plate on the sole was broken away.
Now the driver has no performance. My first and last equipment from Srixon, no
reaction from Srixon about warrenty.Keep hands away,go to the main companies.

Model Reviewed: Srixon W-506 9.5 w/ Aldila NV-65

I just recently got my Srixon W-506 9.5 w/Aldila NV-65 Driver. Its quite the club. After beginning to play Srixon balls I decided to move over there equipment and now I'm playing the best golf that I possibly can. My previous driver was a Nike Sasquatch Tour 9.5 w/Aldila NV-65 and my average with that was around 290 yrds. Now with my Srixon driver I am consistently hitting it 310+ yrds. Its also the most forgiving driver I've ever had. And with the Aldila NV-65 S Shaft its the complete package.

Now there's only one thing left to do for you....

Customer Service

The Srixon W-506 Driver is a very good driver for its value. It allows for the most distance I've ever seen. I believe Srixon, with a bit more advertising, will become the next big boom in golf. This driver is very easy to find also plenty are littered across eBay from $150-$300 (depending on shaft).

The last two drivers I've had are a Taylormade R360XD and Nike Sasquatch Tour.
Both were fairly good drivers, especially the Sasquatch however it is hardly comparable now to my Srixon.

Tried 3 different shafts; stock fuji, 55R, Aldila 65S and finally Graffoloy Pro Launch 65R. Consistency and too much loft were issues. Only on occasion did I hit a very good drive in play. Went from hitting 10 to 12 fairways with my G5 to maybe hitting 7 with the R7. Went from averging 225 to averging 212 on drives. Will admit that shots hit on the toe, heel, high or low are corrected and rewarded with some distance, but the tendency of this club is high and left; my natural shot is boring and a slight fade. Not willing to put another shaft in it; spoke to golf shop rep who experienced the same tendencies in his R7.
