Srixon W-506 Drivers

Srixon W-506 Drivers

DESCRIPTION

At 450cc, the W-506 is also the most forgiving driver we’ve ever created with a larger elliptical hitting zone that extends from high toe to low heel matching the common strike patterns of all golfers. In other words, we’ve put the forgiveness where you need it.

Model Reviewed: W 506 8.5 degree with NV75 stiff

After much satisfaction with my Srixon W403 driver I stumbled accross the W506 with my preferred NV75 stiff shaft. This is the smallest looking 450cc driver I have hit. It looks hardly larger than most 420cc drivers. In the sunlight there are blue sparkles that come through the paint, very attractive package.

This is even more forgiving than the W403 and just as long if not more so on off center contact. My worst toe hits draw but do not hook. I can keep this driver in play which is what we look for but with a bonus of sneaky long distance. Srixon continues to impress me with their distance and forgiveness.

Still the best clubs no one has heard of or plays. If you get a chance to hit these give them a try.

Model Reviewed: W-506, 9.5 degree. stiff shaft

What a wonderful driver. Have been using a TM R7 Quad TP w/ Speeder 757, stiff shaft. I needed to change this driver since I hit close to 10,000 balls w/ this driver for the past 18 months (I practice everyday). Did some research, tried a bunch of drivers at Golfsmith & just tried this Srixon driver after buying it for $150 on ebay. This driver is really forgiving & long. Even the stock shaft is not so bad (Mitsubish Rayon, stiff). I can probably squeeze extra 15 yds. & more control w/ a custom shaft such as UST V2 which suits me very well. The ball really jumps off the face w/ very little effort.

I've played a Cobra SS-350, a Cobra SZ440, a TM R5, and most recently, a Tour Edge Exotic. Each one of those clubs had good things about them, and bad things about them. They are now all sitting in my garage, waiting for me to sell them.

Why? Because I stopped in an Edwin Watts store that had a launch monitor/simulator and, feeling like I still didn't have a driver that I could love, went through a marathon testing session. I tried the Callaway Fusion, Ping G5, Cleveland Launcher (steel and comp), Cleveland HiBore, and a TM R7. I didn't like any of them except the HiBore, and I just didn't want to spend that kind of dough. As I was walking out, I spied a small box with W-506 drivers in it. I have Srixon wedges, and love them, so I figured, "what the heck". I got back in the simulator, and started hitting dead-straight rockets on perfect trajectories. I know that the operators can program the simulator, and suspected that maybe the guy was just trying to get me out of there, but the feel of the golf club was perfect. It just felt right. So I bought it.

(Egads, you mean I didn't waste that retailer's time using his equipment and stock to test drivers, and then go buy it for $30 less online???)

Anyway - since then I've played with the driver many times, and I love it more and more. Stock shaft. It works.

Awesome clubhead! The ball explodes off the face, and impact sounds sweet! Should be even better when I put the Fujikura Speeder 652 in it! No wonder Srixon is #1 in sales in Europe & Asia!

Model Reviewed: Srixon 506 driver

No doubt about it, this is the best driver out in the golf world. I have used Taylor Made R7, Titleist 983K and 905T, All of Calaway drivers, Cleveland Launcher. I averaged about 265 with all of these drivers, some of them were more forgiving than others, all of them with the same shaft. But the Srixon, man! the ball just rockets off the face. After three rounds, I am now averaging about 285 per drive with the driver. I play golf a lot, with a lot of good golfers from all ages, and nobody has ever averaged 300 plus yards in that round I played with them, so I do not believe any of these golfers that say "I am driving about 300 yards every time." There are only about five to six professional golfers that average over 300 yards. Anyways off my soap box, buy this driver if you want to improve 15 yards easily with no effort.

Over the past three years I’ve changed drivers a number of times and my handicap has been going the wrong way. I’ve moved from Callaway, to Titleist to Taylormade. I’ve tried most of the drives out there. Last week I played at a course which had a huge stock of drivers (a golfers paradise) and offered the option to use their driving range, two of which had launch monitors. I took out all the latest ranges (Ping G5, TM, Titleist 905T, Callaway FT-3 & 454) with varying shafts and lofts. After hitting most of them the pro asked why I’d chosen these drivers, I replied I thought they were the best. At which point he left and came back with the Srixon W-506. To say I was sceptical is an understatement, but I’m delighted to say I was proved wrong – this club is amazing, very long and forging. I hit shot after shot straight down the middle, most of which were over 280 yards. I played my first round with it at the weekend and hit every fairway I used it on, which is a first - one drive was over 320 yards!!! Just goes to show you should listen to the Pro and get fitted. My Taylormade R510 TP is now history.
