not sure why this driver does not have a perfect score rating on this site. I have over 10 rounds played with mine and hitting fairways is not a problem anymore. it is also the longest driver I have ever hit. solid contact carries the ball 275 sometimes 290 yards. not sure about you but I will take 275 straight down the middle all day long. as long as I will put a good strong smooth swing on the ball is will fly. my only problem is sometimes going after it just a bit to much and taking left not a hook just a dead shot left which will put me out of the fairway.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made R7 TP

Have been playing an R7 Quad with a Fujikura Tour Platform 26.3, and hitting it well. Decided to upgrade to a TP 9.5 w/ the Fit on 11 shaft. WOW!!!! Are these 2 clubs made by the same company?? The only thing similair with these 2 clubs is there looks. And that is where it ends. Differences: TP is slightly longer 5 to 10 yards, and only slight distance loss on mis-hits. TP sounds more solid at impact, with no "tingy" sound. Just a nice "crack"! TP allows you to adjust the swingweight of the driver. Was able to set mine at D-1.75. TP gives more feedback at impact. TP is square at address. R7 quad is closed and in comparison looks awkward. I thought that I would leave more balls to the right with the more open club face, but just the opposite happened. Hitting a slight draw with weights set at High traj., Neutral. Although this club is expensive, I am glad I switched. The results are worth it. Great distance, accuracy, and feel. BEST FEATURE: Able to adjust swingweight to your preference.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made r7 TP Driver

I have owned many drivers over the years and nothing has worked for me like the TaylorMade r7 tp. I bought a Mitsubishi Diamana Rayon 83 gram stiff shaft that was pulled from an r5 tp driver and put it in my r7 tp. This is a perfect driver. I used to be one of thos eguys that would laugh a someone that bought a club that you could adjust to fit your swing flaws. I used to tell those guys to fix there swing not the club. NOT ANYMORE! Man what a club! I hit more fairways than ever before. I set mine to have a slight draw and damned if it doesn't work! It's amazing. The best part about it is you can adjust your clubs swing weight. Most players have no idea what swing weight is much less what their clubs' swing weight is. More often than not, most players today are swing clubs that are too light. A heavy club head insure that you get through the ball. I highly recommend this driver. I like it so much I just bought the r7 tp 3-wood. I let you know how it performs later. Today will be it's maiden voyage.

I used to stay away from TP and other "tour" models. Look at the reviews on this board! The store reps will tell you the same thing. "Your swing speed isn't high enough - this club is too much club for you". Well, let me tell you - it's a load of CRAP. I demo'd this club at a range (used), just for giggles. Put the 1st 5 shots dead on over the far green on the range! Believe me, I've never done that before. So I bought it... right or not. Since then, I've hit WAY more fairways than normal per round. My avg drive has gone longer 20-60 yds!!! I'm not even kidding. Everyone says this, but my golf buddies are surprised as heck. I've hit launch monitors, etc... but sometimes, it just comes together, and it did for me with this driver.

Customer Service

Excellent. Little local range - treats their customers nice.

Model Reviewed: r7 TP 9.5* w/ Fujikura 757 Shaft

I recently switched from my standard r7 to the TP version and am very pleased with the change. The TP has several oustanding features that have really helped my game. First, the moveable weights provide me with a lot of options for center of gravity position. If I have been hitting a little too much draw, I can switch some more weight to the toe and adjust the ball flight without changing my swing significantly. I can also control trajectory in different conditions I will be playing in. In addition, the moveable weights also allow for swingweight changes. I can make the driver lighter or heavier to also fit my liking. I like to play it slightly heavier than standard (28g total) giving me the appropriate swingweight without significant club changes. The high-end shaft is also an excellent feature. I prefer the heavier shaft with the higher kickpoint. Although a higher swingspeed is needed, the shaft really does make a difference in trajectory and power. The Fujikura shaft is stiff, but not too stiff. The shaft loads well and releases with a lot of power. This best thing about this driver is the consistency. Although the club doesn't hit the ball for me, it provides me with some options to straighten out my shots and fit my swing style exactly. I tend to hit this strighter than other models I try in our golf store. I highly recommend this driver for its ability to fit different people's swings and adjust over time. Also, the high quality shaft makes a significant difference for people with higher swing speeds. Drivers are very personal, but I believe this will help many people hit the ball strighter than other comparable models.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made R7 TP

I switched from Titleist 983k after great satisfaction for about 2 years with it. I still love my titleist 983k, which has a hard-felt face upon impact compared to R7 which is solid but soft. I read reviews about how this driver doesnt produce a loud sound at impact, but i found it has a VERY LOUD bang at impact when i hit it. At first i thought i could have mis-hit it, but after about another 4-5 balls, i actually hit it at the centre-spot a.k.a "SWEET SPOT" i couldnt have missed it for the world as it is forgiving and as a proof, there was a very big ball mark right on the centre of the clubface. In regards of adding distance, I havent felt much coz I averagely drive it around 260-280 metres with both Titleist 983k and r7 tp. However, to be honest, I dun recommend this club for beginners at all. I dun shoot good numbers all the time because i have a poor short game, esp my putting :( but when its on, i could easily shoot single digit. For the record, i also use taylormade rescue tp 19, rac black 52 and 58 wedges, and the TP irons. The irons and wedges are irreplacable i might say, not so sure bout the rescue TP though. I havent used much of them :) With all of those from TaylorMade I am using so far, it will add a little bit of spice if u would spend some bucks in getting the R7 carry bag. They look absolutely gorgeous :) no kidding! Enough of the TaylorMade stories! they are the leaders! Good Luck for all TaylorMade owners and hopefully u can lead the distance and accuracy amongst ur mates!!

Model Reviewed: R7 8.5 degree loft w/ Fujikura 6 shaft stiff flex

I am not sure what the issue is with some of the reviews on this driver. I have usually played Titleist drivers and fairway woods, and gave this a try on a whim and absolutely loved it. It may well be the fact that a high-end shaft makes all the difference. As far as the weights, I haven't played around with them to much. I just tried a couple of settings, found the one I liked the best and have left it alone. I was playing the Titleist 504, and while I don't see any real difference in distance, at least not enough to jump up an down about but there is a great deal of difference in consistency! As someone else said, this is not a driver for a high handicapper. With the smaller head (which I prefer vs. feeling like I have a toaster on the end of the shaft) you do have to be able to hit the ball square. If you slice with what you are hitting now, you are going to slice with this one to, and perhaps a lot worse. But, if you can hit a straight drive, or if you can work the ball well, then this might be a club you would like.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made R7 TP

This is the longest driver I have played, period! Much more forgiving than Titleist 983k, similar to offerings from Callaway and Cleveland. Clubface has a unique "hard" feel and "tiny" sound compared with other TM R Series metal woods I have hit. Although I don't care for the "tiny" sound at impact, this driver delivers results in spades. Not only is this driver long, but the intermediate clubhead size lends itself to workability as well. The weight system a bit gimmicky, maybe. And the price too high, in my opinion yes. But what I can't find fault with is the fact that this driver delivers where and when it counts. Neutral TP clubface suits me well, as does the penetrating ball flight this club produces. Overall a fantastic driver for the lower handicap player.

Model Reviewed: Taylormade R7 Tp 9.5 w/ stiff FIT on 11 shaft

Previously played the R7 and 983K, both with stiff NV Aldila 65 pured shafts. 102-108 driver mph swingspeed. Bought the 9.5 TP 3 months ago. Have been hitting it on the range, and just got back from florida where I got my first chance. Tremendous club with the Fujikura FIT on 11(made for slightly slower stiff swing speeds see mine above) Speeder 757 Stiff shaft is too stiff(made for 110 and above) The R7 TP face is much hotter than either the R7 or the 983K. For many golfers, This is not the club for you particularly slicers, or high handicappers the R7 TP will not be as forgiving as the 580/540XD drivers. However, for those with a faster swing that can handle a square faced driver, the R7 TP is very straight and the square face rewards those with grooved swings. I'm now averaging about 265-280. I also switched to a HX hot ball and got my spin to 2200 bckspn, and 50 sdspn, which gives me optimal launch(knuckle ball). That is a 15-30 yard increase in average distance and a 23 yard increase in max distance. Fairways in regulation has improved to about 85%. Again the fit on 11 shaft is suited for 96-105 mph, if faster go up to 757 if slower you should not be hitting the TP. The weights are just to find your optimum flight, once found do not touch! If you can't work the ball now you won't just cause of the wieghts. It will allow you to move weights forward and get a lower flight for those windy days with ease. I work and am trained on the Accusport launch montior and have access to simulators, IT takes a ballspeed of atleast 145+mph(swingspd 99+mph) to carry the ball over 250 yds. So don't listen to all the 300+ carrys you read on here! slower swing speeds need a higher launch meaning a more lofted driver. Faster swing speeds can get away with a lower lofted driver! Nobody unless on tours should be playing less than 9.5, if you are you are losing distance. It is all about high luanch low spin(knuckle ball).

Customer Service

Have found them fairly good in the past. I am fond of taylormade equipment, however this year I am upgrading from rac lt's to Hogan FTX's.
