Taylor Made r5 Dual Type N
I have played them all and I mean ALL. I developed a nasty hook this summer and went out on a mission to find a driver under 100 US dollars that was not closed at address and would still put it out there with some roll just to regain confidence. Found this club used for 79US with r5 stock stiff shaft 10.5 degrees loft. Still had slight draw, not nasty hook but took entire left side of fairway out of play (I am a lefty). When striped, went 260ish. I was very pleased because I was in fairway and at least had a look at the green. Accidentally snapped the shaft putting clubs back in trunk. Took the Superfast TM/Reax 50 gram stiff out of the overrated Burner i bought last year and put it on this clubhead and WOW! what a combo. At 46", the shaft/clubhead are like magic. Ball flight is now penetrating with a slight draw but tons of rolls and automatic. I am only 5'9". The shaft has made all the difference in the world. I guess what I am getting to is if you can find one of these and are having problems with a hook, get the r5 and find the right shaft. Best thing about the r5, it's not obnoxious looking, sounds great when sweet spotted, and costs less than 100 bucks. I would take this over the Sasquatch, the Tour Burner's, the FT-5's, The bang-o-matic, the G10's, The Rapture's, The Hi-Bore's, The 90whatever the overpriced Titleist is called now, and the Cobra's any day of the week.
Customer Service Didn't try to blame TM. It was my own fault. Took to Edwin Watts and they switched out shaft for me. Similar Products Used: Pretty much all of them! Might have missed one or two, but this has to be best value out there. No BS screws to mess with, most overhype of all time!! R7 is a joke. |

This is my review for a 9.5 degree R5 Dual Neutral with the green Aldila NV Stiff shaft in 46" length. I have had a chance to try out this club for at least 7 rounds before I made a decision to keep it or not.
Customer Service I called Taylormade to confirm the serial number on this club when I bought it on ebay. The phone rep was very nice and the entire call only took about 1 minute! Similar Products Used: 8.5* Callaway Great Big Bertha Driver w/ Grafalloy Prolite Stiff 45"

what a club. By far the nicest driver i have ever seen. Really light. makes me hit the ball 20 yards further than my old taylor made xr05 driver and straighter. easy to hit but need a big tee to get it air born. great club. worth buying. It's the best taylor made driver of the lot! even better than the new burner |

A fair price but for me this driver very short, sounds cheap, has no feel and is very unreliable. Hit a 4 iron off the tee almost as far and far more accurately. Saving up for a replacement as I write this. |

Garbage. Bought this club after my Cobra 440sz got a crack in the head as I was hoping this driver would give me a little extra distance off the tee...I was wrong. It has no feel to it at all and I lost close to 50 yards off the tee. I also hit less fairways now with this driver because I feel like I need to take a rip at it just to get it close to where I should be. I demoed the TaylorMade Burner last week and hit twice as many fairways and was about 50 yards out further than with the R5. Don't waste your money if you are looking for distance off the tee...or accuracy. Hopefully my new Cobra HS9 comes in the mail soon. Similar Products Used: Cobra 440sz, Taylormade Burner |

I bought this club used for $70 and couldn't be happier. I used to play with an offset driver and was worried that I'd slice this one off the course but at the price I figured I'd give it a shot. I've never seen prettier ball flights from a driver in my hands. The one part of my game that has always been lacking has been my driving but that's changed and I'm hoping to crack into the 70s now! I've had my current R5 for over a year now. This is my second R5. Yesterday, I broke the upper part of the club face and put a 2 inch crack on top the club. This is my 3rd TM Driver. The first one was the old Burner. I played with it for 6 months then shattered the clubface. I simply went to a TM dealer and explained to him what had happened and the dealer sent it back to the factory and in 2 weeks, I received a new TM R5 Dual driver. In about a year, I cracked the center of the clubface and again returned it to the TM dealer. Again in 2 weeks, received a new driver and the same Fujikara 757 X-stiff shaft.
Customer Service I am sure it is very good. Similar Products Used: TM Irons Blades |

I purchased this club not so long ago as a upgrade. I was previously reluctant to hit my driver as I had little confidence with my accuracy. The R5 has however proved to be a fantastic upgrade, I'm now hitting the ball longer and straighter.

taylormade r5 dual type d
Its not a bad driver i got it from sports authority a few months ago i sliced my old driver a little not bad and hoped the type d would cure that. it didnt i dont slice as bad and hit a few more fairways but my slice takes 15 or 20 yards off. It seems like i only hit it good if i hit it perfect in the sweet spot.If you have more money to spend i would get an r7 425 because you can change the weights, its a little smaller, and more forgiving. But this isnt a bad driver for someone who has a minor slice and doesnt want to hurt their wallet too bad. Customer Service none neede Similar Products Used: R7, Sasquatch, 905r |
