TaylorMade R5 Dual N Drivers

TaylorMade R5 Dual N Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The r5 dual features widely spaced, dual TaylorMade Launch control (TLC) cartridges that are pre-configured and permanent. This positions the weight ideally so you don't have to. With Launch Control promoting an extremely high MOI (moment of inertia) and proper clubhead rotation, the r5 dual Type N delivers remarkable forgivness and a straight ball flight while the r5 dual Type D provides a draw. Meanwhile, the exceptionally large 450cc titanium clubhead not only looks substantial at address, but it also gives you solid contact, consistently straighter shots and of course, confidence. And with TaylorMade's revolutionary inverted Cone Technology, the expanded COR of the r5 results in higher ball velocity on off center hits for longer, more consistent drives.

WOW!!! I have the R5 8.5* with the aldila nv 75 stiff shaft and i've never ever hit drives this long and this straight... Very very forgiving and solid.. I really love this club!!!! I don't care what people say this clubhead with the rright shaft for your game you will absolutely love it!! give it a try and get fit for a shaft and watch the ball say goodbye down the middle on every hole!!!!!!!

Holy ISH!!! that is all I can say about this club. I am a former high school golfer that played to a 6 handicap and after being away from the game for quite some time, I've decided to make my return, but not without a few new weapons. This driver truly is a weapon. When I left the game, My "original" king cobra driver was still fairly high tech and more than enough. Upon my return, I thought these new super large drivers looked a little bit rediculous, but after seeing the R5 on sale for $159 at Golfsmith, I figured I'd at least give them a shot. WOW! What a difference 14 years of technology makes. This club is incredibly easy to hit and even easier to bomb. I was always confident driver of the ball in terms of accuracy and ok in length, but this club brings me to a whole new level. I am so straight with this driver that I'm actually considering taking my 3 wood out of the bag since this is more accurate and I rarely hit my 3 wood off of the turf.

This is an awsome club. My old Powerbuilt driver would often fade or slice on most drives. Wit this Taylor Made Driver I am hitting it long and high dead straight with a touch of draw. The sound it makes when it connects with the ball is awsome and even mis hit balls go for miles. I highly recomend this club!!!!!

Bought this driver with the stock TM shaft to hopefully hit it straighter and hit more fairways. It does hit them straighter but distance suffers notably (compared to Cleveland Launcher 460). Average drive is 20-30 yds shorter than the Launcher. Other reviews suggest the stock shaft may be the issue.

I bought this driver used for about 120 dollars and it is well worth the money. I have always had a natural slicing problem but when i first used this driver i was hitting around 260 in the air and as straight as can be. This club is well worth the price if it is purchased used.

I am playing with 22 hcp. I can play very constant game with my 3/5 woods and irons. But I wasnt able to hit with my driver! I tried different models from RAM, Wilson Fireball and Deep read, some Nike's etc. I just good not hit them without slice/fade. Last week I got my R5 AND I LOVE IT! At last i can say: Go deep Go straight!! Thanks Taylor!

This club was a free replacement after I caved in the face on a second R540. I had it shafted with an X stiff Graffaloy Blue. I feel it was not a very good combination. I have a tendency to hook the ball more than I fade it. With this set up I really had a hard time getting the ball up to a good height. More the shaft I think.
I didn't really care for the head much either. It was an improvement from the 540 though. I am now playing a Titleist 905T which is much better for working the ball. I can hit draws or fades now. The ball also gets up a lot better. Probably more the shaft, but it flies a lot better and has a better sound.
The R5 is a good driver and I would recommend it to someone who swings a softer shaft. The Graffaloy blue X is like swinging a piece of steel with a light head on the end.

Customer Service

Taylor made had awesome customer service. They shipped me a replacement 540 for one I had bought new off of ebay. Then when the face caved in the second time, they replaced it with an R5 free of cost no questions asked. Awesome to do business with them.

I have a cheap set of clubs with a small old driver and was in desperate need of an upgrade. Found this club for $99 used at Golf Smith in GA. Took it to the range right after I bought it and was hitting 275 in the air!! Rolling 290-300!! Now Im not a big guy, 5'9'', 145lbs and I could smash it with this club. I also have a slice problem and most of my shots with this driver were straight. Overall great club for a great price.

Its just about the perfect driver, once you get used to it you can hit long strait drives with great ease, its fairly forgiving but it feels amazing when you hit a great shot (which is often with this.) I found one used for about $100, its a great club for a fair price

I have yet to find a driver better than this. Mine is a 10.5 degree with grafalloy shaft. I don't hit it long, perhaps 230 (but it's an honest 230). Club is very forgiving and in spite of my frustrations when my swing get's out of sync and I insist on a new driver, I still come back to the R5. Shopping for golf equip can be like a hobby, and I'm willing to trade up anytime but so far I've yet to find anything better.

Have tried virtually all of the big 10 company names on the market and everything they make. Many are good but if I had found a noticeable improvement I would be playing them and not the R%.
