I would have to say this is the best driver I have every used. I need to slow my swing down just a bit, however I have never hit the ball farther. This is an incredible piece of engineering. Fantastic Club"" |

I dont think you can beat this driver for the money right now. I was playing a callaway fusion 10.5 with regular flex and felt my swing speed had become fast enough to move up to a stiffer shaft. I am finding a lot more fairways with this driver and have added about 10-15 yds off the tee. The difference between trying to hit a green from 150 on a long par 4 and trying to hit it from 165 is HUGE!! I would say this driver has taken 3 strokes off my game already. Great club and a great price. |

Well..I just bought this driver, the r580 xd on a gppgolf.com for 99.99 brand new. I have the Stiff shaft 10.5 degree loft. Many told me to go to the 9.5 but i deffered. I love the launch angle on it and man does it smoke off the tee. I previously used the r540 and this driver goes about 30 yards farther. My swing is good so I really don't miss hit it much. When I really try to crank it, it sometimes does a slice(which no club can correct), but for the most part it does just what I want it to do. Remember folks, a club cannot correct your swing! But for what its worth, this club is pretty darn good. Very well made and looks good as well. TaylorMade is the way to go. No need to spend on those r5's and r7's. This baby is just as good if not better. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: TaylorMade r540 10.5 Loft |

Heard great things about this driver but never could get it to work with my swing. The face feels dead, and the NV65 shaft doesn't rebound at the right time for my swing. r5 is a much more forgiving, longer club for not much extra money. I have been playing golf for a year now and I have been realy struggling with breaking 100. I contribute this to the fact that I stay in the wrong fairway. My distance off the tee has always been o.k. 250-270 however the accuracy has never been there more than one round at a time. That said. I purchaced the Taylormade 580 XD for $150, man I should have done that sooner! I hit 12 of 14 fairways and the other two stayed inside the cart paths. The best thing is I BROKE 100 my first round with this driver. It is sweet! By far the best driver I've ever hit. So if your thinking of getting this driver but have a hard time spending big money on a single club, listen to me. Get this club. By far the best decision I've made in along time. $150 for this driver or $399 for the R7. No screws here. Just hit the ball!

I am a college student on a limited income plus I am a lefty, so I was looking for a high value per dollar driver. For the money right now, this driver can't be beat. I was playing an Academy special Dunlop (regular flex, 10*) driver before this one. I could hit the Dunlop between 250 - 275... with the occasional 300 yarder. I replaced the Dunlop with the Taylor Made R580 XD (Stiff shaft, 9.5*) and saw an immediate increase in yardage. I would say my usual drive now is 265-290... and I am still adjusting switching from a regular to a stiff flex. I have hit 6 drives that were 320-330 easy.

Replaced the old Taylormade 200 steel. I loved that club yet felt I needed the extra distance from newer technology. I got it. This club is forgiving too. I can swing very hard at it and it still goes pretty straight. Take a little off the swing speed and I can shape the shots consistantly like the old club. I never used to want to play from the blue tee's, but now I don't get so intimidated. For $150 dollar father's day present I am very happy. I also think it looks cool too. Customer Service No problems so far. Similar Products Used: Cleaveland Launcher 400. Also a great club but a little more money. I own the launcher 3 wood and love that club. |

played my first round with this club yesterday and i was very impressed. i've been playing a cleveland launcher 400 for the last 2 years and it seemed to lost all the spring off the face. i always wait and pick up a driver after it's been on the market a year or more so i don't have to pay top prices for them. i got the TM R580 XD new off ebay for $150, great buy. this club loves a nice smooth swing and will put it right down the middle if you don't try to crank it and i got about 20 more yards than with my old cleveland. my buddies all bought the new TM R5 and after hitting my 580 XD they said they wished they hadn't spent the money for the latest, greatest. i tried several drivers before deciding on the R580 XD, the cobra 460sz was a close 2nd, i'm very happy i went with the R580. |

I am a high handicapper at 27. I just bought the Taylor Made R580. It is the best driver I've ever had. The ball jumps off the club face and has given me an extra 15 to 20 yards. My scores are dropping thanks to this driver. Similar Products Used: I previously had a Wilson Deep Red Fat Shaft driver which was ok but nothing like my new Taylor Made R580 |
