Well, I have to say I'm hooked. My driving generally sucks, and it ruins an otherwise solid golf game for me. I've tried and/or owned everything, Titleists, Pings, TM 200 Steels, Callaway Steelheads, and never found anything remotely consistent with my swing. Today, I went to the range and my 3 drivers all were horribly awry. Tried the highly-touted Cleveland Launcher, and it was better, then a 9.5 R580XD, and virtually every shot went were I aimed it, but it lacked a little length. Tried the 10.5 R580XD - BINGO! Even my worst swing produced no more than a weak slice, not the hole-wrekcing banana ball my other drivers would have generated. Length, power, tragentory, accuracy, forgiveness. The R580XD seems to deliver it all, even with rock hard frozen range balls. I just kept banging one drive after another down the middle of the fairway. Maybe I'll be a decent driver from now on!

I played a few rounds with the 580 and decided to reshaft it with a Graphite Design YS7. The YS7 was a definite improvement over the standard TM MAS 60. I like the club as well as my CobraSS380 with the YS7 and my Titleist 983K. All are excellent clubs. I wa stelling one of my friends the driver is now the easiest club for me to hit. This new technology has come a long way in making the game more enjoyable.

Used Ping IST Tec and one day decided to try it, had to have it! it lacks a little feel compared to my dust gathering tec, but the results are amasing. NOT for those who want to rip at the ball, had had excellent resutls with a nice swing, my 95 to 100 mph swing (as measured by golfsmith) does the job. I had one or two 300+ drives but, on average 270 to 280. All but my very worse swings are rewarded with slight draws or fades, easy to hit either high or low tho. tried the XD and all I can say is. Why so much more? the fancier headcover?

I was loooking to replace my Adams ST driver, and while at the driving range I saw this driver on the Demo bin, and let me tell you on the first swing I drove the ball 265yds straight down the middle. I had to have it right there and then and for 150.00 it was worht the money..

This club is just great.I used to hit the 360 which was a little to high then got the 580 as a gift would have rather a 9.5 but now that I have switched shafts I have no regrets its incredibly long straight and most important consistent ,a problem I have encounbtered with callaway if your willing to find an excuse like I have to spend the money (get well present after surgery) get the r510 tp which I like much better and its got the fuji 757 but dont get me wrong the580 is great I just happen to be a driver freak especially after my last purchase of the mizuno mp 001 with graffaloy bluewhich btw is very smooth consistent straight and great looking but its not as long as any of the taylormades

If you are reading this trying to consider wheather the R580 driver is the right driver for you, STOP right now and GO BUY ONE. This is by far the best driver I have ever played. It took a little getting use to looking down at it as far as the crown lines are concerned, but its easily worth the effort. I have gained on adverage of 20 yards off the tee, some of this may be combined with the use of the Titleist Pro V1 ball. I play a draw and you can work the ball easily with this club, the trajectory is wonderfully mid to mid high depending on what your trying to do, if you play into a head wind you can tee it low and back in your stance and it will stay down. I tried the Callaway Big Bertha II because I was always a Callaway guy, but after this club I now know why the driver is so popular, its is the best addition you could make to your bag. It's a beautiful club, so why are you still reading this? Go get the driver you will not be sorry!

I was a little hesitant about how much a name brand driver could improve my game. I tried callaway steelheads, titleist, and mizunos in the past. I did not see a huge improvement with these big names. An old friend had just gotten his 580XD and was out driving me all day. Finally on the 17th and 18th (both par 4s) he let me try it out. Ka'bam, straight down and far, very far... and I out drove my friend by a good 20 yards. I got a little excited, made par. Now on the last hole my friend was not going to let me use his driver (I would'nt have) but he did and similiar results again with the driver. I can honestly say that the driver has made it easier with a huge sweet spot and better distance with each shot that I have totally changed the way I look at the next shot. Instead of long irons, I am now using mid and it is more fun to play and outdrive my friends. Now if there was a putter that could put the ball in the hole every time I would be in great shape.

Received a 9.5 580XD with Speeder 757 S flex 45" 331 grams D1. Compared to my previous driver R300 Tour Speeder 757 S flex, this driver is at approx 15 to 18 yards longer. Ball flight is mid high no balloning effect. Club at address is easy to be comformable. Simlar to swing this big head. Club actually responds better to a smooth swing than a big hit. Not so easy to move the ball. Just wants to go straight. Responds well to high tees 2.75" is preferred. On impact, the feel is much better on the 300 tour. The XD actually has a more pinging sound. Face does not seem to feel very hot but the distance is very good. In short, this driver is not a high handicap only driver. Performs well for mid and low handicaps with better shafts and lower lofts.

I've been hunting for years for a driver that I felt comfortable with, like I was with my old Ben Hogan wooden wood Driver. I finally found it. The easier I swing, the farther it goes. The only golf club I ever had that truly, over the long haul, made a significant difference.
