TaylorMade Supersteel Drivers

TaylorMade Supersteel Drivers

DESCRIPTION

SuperSteel is stronger than the steel traditionally used in metalwoods, enabling both the club head and sweetspot to be larger. this allows for thinner face walls that transfer more power to the ball. The result is increased velocity and a more explosive hitting area for more distance.

Strength:

Here's the truth, sometimes these clubs feel "harsh" on shots not very well struck. Whatever you do, don't confuse harsh with unforgiving, there is a major difference. Harsh means you know when you have hit a poor shot (usually a little thin in my case) unforgiving, Glendale A/C Repair Service

Model Reviewed: Taylormade Burner Supersteel driver

In the late 90's I purchased a TiBubble 2 driver for about $300 (graphite shaft). When I hit it straight it went far but that was the problem, not consistantly straight. Hated it and sold to a friend for $150, was glad to get something for it. Took that money and added a bit, $50 I think, and bought the Super Steel 8.5 degree. Loved this club from day one. Can't hit it as far but consistancy and accuracy is the the name of the game. I have a full set of Taylor made clubs, Firesole 3 wood and full set of LCG irons and will never need another. All are steel shafts, I keep each of them covered when not in use so when I pass into the next world and the wife sells them it'll be like an almost brand new set, all even have new grips. It's funny that when I don't play golf for awhile she'll say why did you spend so much money on a set of golf clubs and not use them all of the time. I simply tell her, "it's not like they're going to go bad." One thing I can't do since I purchased them is blame my game on the clubs.

Until I bought my 360 Ti driver this was my #1. When I first bought it I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, because it's not as big or tall as the newer drivers out, but after a few practice balls on the range I immediately fell in love with it. It is by far the best driver I have ever hit, it may not go as far but it is very forgiving and will reward you with straight respectful distance shots over and over again. I would still have it but the guy that bought my old clubs didn't want to breakup the matching set, so I opted to buy a 360 instead and sell him the Super Steel, looking back and seeing how well he drives I wish I would have just bought another Super Steel instead. Oh well, anyhow I would recommend this to golfers that appreciate accuracy more than distance , after all a 300 yard drive hooking hard left or slicing right out of bounds or into the trees doesn't really do much for your score, and I'm sure most people would be will to sacrifice about 20 yds if their drive consistantly landed in the middle of the fairway.

After playing the superb Supersteel 3 and 5 woods, I had to try the driver. Picked up a 7* Tour with Rifle steel. In a word... "STINKO!"

I am too young of a golfer (14) to use this club because of 2 reasons. 1. the shaft is to stiff (rifle shaft) and 2 the club is too long. I could get it cut down but the shaft would be even stiffer. I am trying to sell it for a Wilson Fatboy 427cc. They are a nice club and very well priced

I bought this club brand new for $30 on ebay. I tried it out and it hits really great, I have a new Adams redline for long drives but it is difficult to control. I had been using a TM 200 steel series 3 wood for shorter drives. Now I have this club and it has given me (a beginner) much better cotrol without the deafening sound of the redline.

I am 16 years old and I in the 5 years i have played golf i have always struggled to hit fairways. In the week I have had this driver my handicap has dropped 3 strokes and is now down to 5.5. I previously had a taylor made 320 driver and could rarely hit fairways. When I did hit fairways I hit it about 300. The supersteel I only hit about 287 but that is a straight and consistent 287. In the last 5 rounds i have hit 11/13 fairways and even when i hit it bad i can sometimes get it in the fairway. I reccommend this driver to everyone and I am honestly telling everyone get rid of your 300 and 500 series and get this club with a steel shaft.

This is a great club for those who want straight shots and consistent distance. I am 15 years old and this isnt the top of the line technology driver and i average 300 yards with it. Just imagine how far i could hit it with a redline or an R580. If you are a beginner or just an "f" around golfer i stongly recommend this driver.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made Supersteel 9.5 Driver S90 Graphite Shaft

What can I say, this driver is fantastic. I am not a huge fan of the 275cc and up size becuase I would slice the ball. I love the smaller head size and provides better control for me off the tees. I increased my drive distance consistently over 25 yards. The sound is pricless off the tee when you hit the sweet spot. This driver is highly recommended for the beginner and high handicapper becuase of the forgiveness. If you have trouble hitting your current driver like I did, this club will really improve your game.

Model Reviewed: TaylorMade Supersteel 250 Driver

I bought this 9.5^ S90 bubbleshaft and the fairway woods when I was moving from HK back to the States. At the time, I wasn't very good at hitting the woods so my first impressions aren't very important. I started getting a good feel for my woods last summer and found that I can really smack the balls around with this driver. For a beginner (anyone over 120), the 250 maybe a little had to hit if you don't have a smooth swing. Actually, this club rewards smooth flowing swings and launches with a great angle and distance without much effort. I've found that if I try to overpower the ball and my swing, I tend to slice. I think the smaller head (than those 275-400cc monsters now on the market) and forgiveness make the SS-250 a great club for beginners. I find that most beginners have trouble controlling their swing when they use the super-sized heads so the SS-250 is a great choice. For Mid-High cappers, the club is great. Easy swings are rewarded with straight and long shots... not penetrating as a lot have mentioned. In fact, before I injured my arm a few weeks ago, I was launching balls off the practice mat (no tee) with good trajectory. Sweet spot hits are rewarded with a wonderful *CRACK* sound. Most of my friends love hitting this and the fairway woods. 250 yards is no problem but can easily and regularly squeeze out 280+ Only problem I've had with it is a slice towards the end of the drive due to too much side spin (my fault). I had been hitting the ball on the heel of the club with a slight outside-in motion on my follow thru, putting the ball in a side-spin.... other than that, the distance I get before it slices is amazing ! Off-center hits, in general, are very forgiving.

Customer Service

Never Used but my friends have used it and found them to be very good at solving problems.
