TaylorMade Tour Burner Drivers

TaylorMade Tour Burner Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Dual crown and weighted power-base promote increased carry and distance. Modern head shape promotes lower, deeper and precision-placed CG for higher launch angle and lower spin. SuperFast Technology promotes increased swing speed, faster ball speed and added distance. Inverted Cone Technology dramatically expands the portion of the clubface that delivers high COR for consistently longer drives on off-center hits. SuperFast 60-gram shaft is exceptionally lightweight and stable to promote greater distance and accuracy.

I am a golf Junkie and have tried many of the top f=drivers over the last 18 months. The tour burner is top dog. Awesome does not come close to describing the performane. Sound is perfect.Long solid and considtent. What more can you ask for. Roll on next season.

Who should buy this club ? Anyone who wants to hit bombs and faiways. That would be every golfer then.

If you are looking to drive BOMBS, I defintely recommend this driver.Picked it up in spring and have easily taken 5 strokes off my game.. Stock shaft is not bad at all, club face fairly forgiving and posseses a great sweet spot.. Like one review says, you will know when you hit it clean by the great crushing sound and the extra yards spent walking or cruising up to your ball.. Can't beat the value on this driver either.. $180 Can

This is the best club I have ever had the pleasure of picking up and swinging. I am surprised by some of the other reviews being less than stellar, in my opinion they're not warranted. If you can't get confidence swinging this one you better practice. The ball flys off the face and doesn't have that artificial sound, only pure sounding and pure feeling. The head at set up is appealing and the reax shaft is a winner in my book. I can hit this one as far as with other clubs with less effort.

DRIVER HAS THE STOCK REACT SHAFT. MY SWINGSPEED WITH DRIVER IS BETWEEN 105-110. I CAN'T SEEM TO FEEL THE DRIVER ON MY BACKSWING. THE HEAD FEELS TO LIGHT AND IT WON'T LOAD, NOT WITH THIS SHAFT ANYWAY. WHEN I DO FIND THE MIDDLE OF THE FACE SHOTS COME OFF LOW AND RUNNING. MISSES ARE AWFUL. USED R5TP FOR 3 YEARS AND RARELY MISS THE MIDDLE OF FACE. NOT FOR ME.

My oldest son was trying one of these out & I decided to take a few swings with it. Wow! Gave my r-7 to my youngest son & am selling my Titleist D-2 on ebay. I am longer & straighter with this club. For the money ($129. new) it is 5 star club in my mind.

Just recently acquired this club as a prize and I must say that as of yet,(I have used it several times) I am not as pleased with it as I had hoped I would be. It does sound very good coming off the clubface but the length of the club makes it difficult to control even with my relatively smooth, slower swing speed. Also, I have not gotten use to the way it looks at address...yet. I will continue to use it on the range to see if I can get the hang of it. However, for now, I am sticking with my Adams RPM 460.

Model Reviewed: TM 08 Tour Burner Irons

For several years I have been playing the Cleveland CG4 Tour irons. I have played well with them but felt I may be missing out on new technology. I visited a local Edwin Watts store and found the 08 Tour Burners on sale. I hit about 50 balls on the monitor with the 6 and 8 iron and was very impressed. I have more of a downward strike rather than sweeping motion, and my Clevelands just went too high. The burners had the ball flight I needed with workability and forgiveness. I won't say they lowered my strokes by 5 or more but consistent trajectory could lead to that eventually. With a 6 handicap only the short game with make the most difference. Great value and investment.

First off, this website is very helpful and the product reviews are excellent.

Last summer, I demoed the following drivers – Taylor Made Burner, Taylor Made R7 Super Quad, Callaway FT-3, Cobra Speed Pro D and a Titleist 907 D2. All of them had the same specs: 9.5 degrees of loft, stiff shaft, 65 grams. I liked the R7 Super Quad the best and I decided to hold off on buying one until this year.

During a round a few months ago, a friend of mine let me try his Taylor Made Tour Burner (same specs as the ones above but 60 vs. 65 grams) and after hitting it, I decided to buy one.

Last week I went to a local Long Island shop that had a good selection of new Tour Burners and their prices were very competitive at well below $200.

The salesman suggested that I hit some balls in their demo area using their Launch Monitor.

I started off with a Tour Burner, 9.5 degree, stiff shaft, 60 grams. The data from the LM showed that I was getting between 230 to 240 yards of carry and 15 yards of roll.

Then the salesman recommended I hit a driver with 8.5 degrees of loft and the same shaft specs as the 9.5.

After hitting a bunch of balls with the 8.5, the LM was showing 250 to 260 yards of carry and about 20 yards of roll.

If you are looking for the right driver for your game, find a shop that can set you up on a LM and spend some time hitting balls.

With the salesman’s help and the Launch Monitor data, I got the right club and I am really enjoying it. The ball flight is spectacular and for the money – it is just an amazing club! Have a great season

I just got this driver and I love it. It added at least 15 yards to my drive and at 13 years old that is a big deal. I always seem to hit the ball ball straight no matter where I hit on the club face
