TaylorMade XR-03 Ti Drivers

TaylorMade XR-03 Ti Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The XR-03 Ti Driver features a 410cc clubhead. A product of Powerframe Technology, it''s made from high-strength SP-700® titanium with rolled face plate construction to produce a stiffer frame with a thinner, cold-formed face for the highest COR we''ve ever engineered. The improved CAD-optimized head structure offers higher moment of inertia to maintain ball velocity on off-centre hits. Its computer-optimized CG location improves launch conditions for players of average swing speeds by creating a higher launch angle with less ball spin to realize maximum distance and control. An internal weight pad technology enhances sound and solid feel for the desired feedback preferred by most players.

I was finding a large head driver with good feel and distance. XR-03 is just what I was seeking. It gave me better feel when impact, and also very nice sound plus about 15 yard distance. It is nice to hear that sound when making a solid contact with the ball. The Grafalloy prolite 35 shaft is just right for this club and the loft I am using is 10.5 at the moment , I am quite satisfied with the forgivingness of this club. And very satisfied with the purchase. Go try and hitting one~

Your pals may laugh at the size of the Clubs head however their smile will soon disapee after they watch you whack the ball down the fairway time after time. Tried it at a recent demo day and loved it. As it was reduced from £500 to £199 it was an ideal Christmas present to myself. Most drives now going around 250 yards no problem which is around 10 - 15 yards further than normal. It is very forgiving and the head size inspires confidence. Even the bad shots go further and straighter. Haven't yet played in a medal due to it being winter however in my first two games I shot 4 & 6 shots better due to being on the fairway and closer to the hole for my second shot. May seem expensive but what price do you put on sheer enjoyment. A pleasure to use at every tee.

Ultra forgiving easy to control. Do not consider ERC2 which causes slice at off center hit. Just try the demo club of xr-03 you will see the difference. I have tried it on the fairway and it will keep your drive long on the fairway. Very fun club dont tell your mates about it

Gone to a round with this club, it is straight, powerful and very very forgiving. Do not need to swing hard. My pals just wondering what a driver it is so workable. Only that the trajectory is high and looks a bit dump with its huge size, but anyway it really works!

I haven't purchased this club but I recently tried it out at a Taylor Made demo day!! I was extremetly impressed with the quality of service oferred by the dealer and his friendliness. The club performed great..I was cranking drives 250 meters plus after just a few swings..I was mostly inmpressed by the trajectory of the ball..I love the no fuss appearance of the club..it is simple but stylish..I swing the club just 3m/ph slower than Tiger Woods and I feel this club would suit anyone who luvs to rip it..SUPURB..have a hit with one soon!!

Excellent Driver, exceded my expectations by a long way.Since i got this club i've been driving 20 yards further and alot straighter. Its the most forgiving Driver ive used although not as long as the Titliest 975J-VS Which when i used it was 15 yards longer(20 yards more carry!)Ive yet to try the 500 series but ive only heard of peoples dissapointment with it.If ure an improving high single figure handicapper then the XR-03 is the driver you should try.

This is one hell of a forgiving club. Its added about 10 yards but MUCH more when not center of club face. I'm not sure which is better, this or the R500 series. I didn't like the dull poing noise but you get used to it as well as the size of the head! I prefer the noise of the ERC2 but this is fine for the length and forgiveness. Enjoy!!!!

OK, so why change from the Ti 320 (10.5%, regular flex)? Well, the 320 is a fabulous driver but I need a stiff flex (been hitting the odd draw, well hook)and I found it goes a bit high for me and doesn't roll that much in the fairway. So I set out looking for a stiff flexed driver with 9.5% and a bit of forgiveness, but stiff long. I went to the local range and tried out a load of drivers. First I thought I'd like the new R500 series and so I tried the 540 and 580 but I was very disappointed with both the feel and consistency. I then tried the Callaway C4, which whilst nice at address hit the occassional really duff shot losing lots of distance. May just be my swing, but its wasn't for me. Next I tried the Masker driver (not sure of the model but it had "longest drive record with this driver" on the marketing blurb. Anyway, I was impressed, hit some long shots but it was a not quite consistent enough to warrant buying it. I then tried the Cleveland launcher (9.5%, stiff flex). I liked this driver a lot. Sat well and had a nice flight but again to spend the money i wanted a little extra distance which it wasn't really giving me. Next up was the Cobra (the thin face one that doesn't conform to USGA rules - it had a sticker on it). Anyway I hated the noise it makes, its SO loud every time you smack it. It couldn't cope with that and anyway I kept fading it. I then tried the Ti 360 (S-90, 9.5%) and the XR-03 (S-90, 9.5%). Both clubs have big heads and need high tees but are nicely weighted and feel confident at address. I hit both well and found it hard to decide between the two and as it happens there was a TM demo going on a few bays down so I explained my sitation and got a little advice. Apparently the 320 (my original club) is designed to have a lower launch angle and then climb. The 360 and XR-03 are desined to start higher but not drop to earth but land and roll. This made sense and I then tried a few more combinations of flex and loft to find whats right for me. Despite wanting a 9.5% loft I settled for a 10.5% as the flight wasn't too high and the extra 1% gave me a little more room for error. So if you're not hitting it too high stick to 10.5% or more, its easier to hit. As for the XR-03, it was long and straight, and hard to hook. I've not been on the course yet but I can't wait to try it out.

This isn't the club listed for the review, but instead the 540 series (350cc) model. I have reviewed several drivers on this site in the past, but this is by far the best, hottest, most accurate I have EVER hit. If you're looking for added distance (aren't we all?), then this is your club. Much hotter than Nike 400cc and Titleist 975J-VS. Wonderful feel coming off the face. Marvelous club.

I've tried Callaway and Honma drivers before, but none compares with the XR-03. And when I say 'none', I mean XR-03 has a much better distance, accuracy, forgiveness and feel. It's just fantastic!
