Titleist 907D2 Drivers

Titleist 907D2 Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Titleist. The #1 460cc driver on the PGA Tour.

When it comes to 460cc drivers, even at the highest level of competitive golf, there are plenty of choices. And Titleist continues to be the brand trusted above all others. Now there's the next evolution of 460cc driver technology, the new Titleist 907 drivers.

The Titleist 907D2 is a multi-material 460cc driver with an enhanced moment of inertia (MOI) for increased DISTANCE WITH WORKABILITY and shot control.

MOI is the clubhead's resistance to twisting on off-center impact (i.e., heel, toe, high, or low). A higher MOI value means more resistance to twisting. The benefit of a higher MOI is longer distance (better energy transfer from club to ball) on off-center impacts.

I purchased the driver after I cracked the face on my Superquad. I haven't hit a Titleist since the J. And I was very pleased with what they have made. I feel I am able to shape my shots and am able to hit the ball as long as I did as my Superquad. As for hitting more fairways or not, it all feels the same. Overall good club, good sound, good VS Proto xstiff shaft. I also paid under 200 dollars brand new off ebay . . . didn't have to pay as much as everyone else I guess.

I had a 905T and "upgraded it to a 9.5 907D2 with a Proto by You - A major step backwards, ballflight was way too high, ball flight was very inconsistent.
After reading reviews i swapped that for a 905R 8.5 with a Speeder 757.
Not Neccesarily a bad club just not for me.

Long and workable with the perfect amount of forgiveness. I have a 907D2 9.5 with the VS Proto Stiff shaft and I can kill the ball; I have never been so happen with a club before. I would recommend it to the mid to low handicaps.

The best driver Titleist has made. This is my 3rd-983K, 905T-. I had exceptional rounds the last 2 days and the D2 was partially responsible. I think I missed 2 fairways in 45 holes of golf. Mine has a Graphite Design YS6+ stiff shaft with 91/2 degrees. The club has a great sound and you know when you've hit one on the screws. This driver replaced my Callaway FT5 Tour which I was very disappointed with it. The Titleist D2 is farther and more accurate. I wont bore you with how I can work the ball and shape shots with it.

I played a Nike Sumo 9.5 with Grafalloy Blue Stiff and a Cleveland Hibore XL 9.5 Fujikura Red Stiff. Butz have had always a prpblrm with the setum, because of the closed faces.
So I went was to a Titleist Demo day and was measured with the Titleist Launch Monitor. Average ss = 110 mpH. First I played the 9.5 D2 wit the ALDILA VS Proto in X and did get like with my 9.5 Sumo 255 Yards of carry.
Then I tried the D2 with the UST V2 76gramm in Stiff an could average 272 yards of carry with a penetrating and perfect ballflight. I have never had such a ball flight before. The D2 was so easy and perfect to align to the target because of the realy square and plain club face. Today I buyed one and will sell my other Drivers on ebay.

Model Reviewed: titleist 907D2 Speeder 9.5

I purchased a 907D2 with prolaunch blue (both stiff) and found that i was just not swinging smooth enough to get a consistent straight flight (swing speed aroung 105 with driver). Switched to a 907D2 with a stiff speeder (proper speeder and not Titleist version) and am absoulutely delighted with the results. Much tighter shot dispersion with the speeder but perhaps a loss of 5 yards with comparable flushed drives. Re the 907d2 head design, miss hits are still pretty good and when cracked off the sweetspot the drives go deep. Pretty good for working the ball both ways but not as good as a 983. As others have said though, finding the right shaft for your swing is the most important thing.

Model Reviewed: Titleist D2 Driver

I started back playing golf after a 30 year hiatus. All this talk about being a certain handicap to play particular clubs is all talk. If you can hit the ball square in the center, then you can play any pro club. If you can't hit the ball square center, then you need to go practice and work out your swing.

I'm a lefty, so it's pretty hard to demo all the clubs. I base my decisions on looks and feel. I did test many drivers and definitely preferred the D2 by far over any other model. It looks great, feels great, sounds great, and is extremely easy to hit. I love hitting the power fade with this driver. It is also easy to draw the ball with this driver too. I consistently shoot in the upper 70s and low 80s, which is what I used to shoot when I was a teen. Along with my D2, I play a Titleist 585 17 degree hybrid, Mizuno MP32 irons, Titleist Vokey 54 degree wedge, and a Scotty Cameron Newport Studio 2.0 putter. All these clubs are designated for pro players, but I have concluded that they are just great clubs period, and anyone with a good swing would easily be able to hit any of these clubs. Just make sure you purchase the correct shafts to match your particular swing speed. I have the stock shafts and they work just fine for me. The right compression ball is also important. My swing speed is in the mid 90s, so the Titleist NXTs work great for me. My 15 year old son also plays the same clubs as I do and hits them great!!! Together we have concluded that Titleist and Mizuno make the best clubs. Of course, that is just our opinion, but he has actually tried out all the clubs on the market. He uses the VS Proto shafts in his Titleist clubs and claims they are the best. 9.5 loft with a VS Proto stiff flex shaft is a great combination for anyone with a medium to fast swing speed.

Model Reviewed: Titleist 907D2

Whatever you are looking for, I have to emphasize like other reviewers, it is important to get fitted for the right shaft no matter what driver you play.

That said, my 907D2 fit me like a gift from the golf gods. I have another review of the 983E, which was an outstanding driver. Since it was a 2003 model, I began looking to upgrade last year. It is only now that I've come back to ol' Titleist driver. I have a problem with going left, so I tried heavier shafts like the Speeder 757, and the 85g Grafalloy NT prototype. Also, since I just turned 50, I've switched my complete set to regular flex.

It has been months of re-working the swing, and searching for the right driver. The reason to get the 907D2 is for the usual reasons to get Titleist -- the SOLID FEEL and WORKABILITY that always seems to be amiss with all the behemoth drivers currently on market. I almost found the right combination with the Cleveland XL Tour, because of its open face configuration and flatter lie angle, but the concave crown just got to me over time.

Being more of a traditionalist, you can't beat the no-nonsense look and square face angle you get with the 907D2. But here's the kicker, I got the Aldila Spec Grid 67 (stock) R shaft, and wheeeee!

I am hitting it straight and long, but if I'm under pressure, it's easy to hit the soft fade to about 220-230. Full hits for me are going out to 250-270 and I've never had a driver that worked for me the way the 907D2 works.

Model Reviewed: Titleist 907 D2

This is an update to a previous review. I have been using two 907 D2 drivers (9.5 w/GD YS-6+ XS and 10.5 w/ Pershing 65 XS) for about a year now and have tried several other drivers as well. The D2 is still the best driver I have ever hit. It feels and sounds extremely solid, looks better than most of the 460 heads out there, and absolutely crushes the ball. I have tried many shafts including, VS Proto 65 and 70 XS, Proforce V2 65 S, Pershing 65 S and XS, ZCOM BW-65 XS, Aldila NV proto S, Aldila NV-75 S, and GD YS-6+ XS. The YS-6+ works the best for me for some reason, which is great because you can get one for about 40 bucks on ebay. The Persing shaft is a close second. I also currently own a Ping G10 9.0 with VS Proto 70 S, Cobra Speed Pro D 9.5 w/Pershing 65 X, and a Cleveland Hibore XL Tour 9.5 with Accuflex Creation 65 X. The D2 blows them all away is every respect. If you are a decent ball striker, and you by no means have to be a low handicapper, try this driver! If you get the right shaft/loft combo, there is nothing better on the market today! The only dig I can make is that most retail stores like Golfsmith, Edwin Watts, and Golf Galaxy still charge $400.00 for it even though it's two years old now. Pick one up on line cheaper.
