I have gone through too many drivers in my 7 years of golfing. Once I tried the 975D two years ago, I haven't picked up another driver ever since. I got 15-20 more unexpected yards and the confindence to really place it on the fairways. Thanks to my new found driving distance and accuracy, I have broken into the 70's several times. I love it! I have tried many drivers and i haven't found one which gives as much accuracy as this one, forget distance if you cant keep it in the fairways you've got no chance. i used to play the firesole: long but unaccurate. the titleist is just as far as it. I tried the erc out but the titleist gives a better flight and more distance even if the feel is not as good Similar Products Used: ERC,TM firesole,TM 300 series,Ping Tisi,Hawkeye and mizuno |

Best driver by far. The explosiveness at impact is astounding. Just having this club provides you with the confidence you've been lacking. You remember the super hero Thor, enough said. Think about it; if Tiger Woods uses this club, it's gotta be good. This is the firepower you've been waiting for: the firepower to outgun your buddies at the range! Similar Products Used: None |

This is simply the best driver on the market. I have hit a lot of drivers and this is by far the best looking, sweetest feeling, and farthest hitting driver. If you are a good golfer you will love this drivers pureity and ability to crush the ball long and if you are a high handicaper you will love it's forgiveness. I'm 16 and I can play with the big boys. You don't need one of those special drivers that garuntee 15 yrds or more! If you are serious about golf and lift weights like I do you can take the ball 300+ yrds no problem and amaze people. Customer Service I had a wedge that chipped and they replaced it no problem Similar Products Used: Taylor Made Ti Bubble 2, GGB, Mc Gregor |

I had a no-name Driver before that hit pretty far but faded (read hawful slice)a lot. I tried many and liked the Big Bertha and Taylor Made Supersteel but this one is just amazing. I have a stiff (90) steel shaft and 8.5 deg. loft because I hit high naturally and this thing is straighter and longer than anything I've tried. I am not a long hitter but consistantly hit over 250 in the middle of the FW (it has made me break 90 more often to the point where I will soon play below 90 regularily in my second year of golf) Similar Products Used: Big Bertha, Taylor Made and Mizuno |

I bought this driver in October. The weather was rainy and cold around here, and so I couldn't use it for about 10 days after my initial purchase. There was a tournament scheduled in late October. That's when I first hit the driver! I won the tournament in my division! My first and only win for me at my club. I now sleep with this fabulous dirver!!!!!!!!! Titleist 975D 9.5 Grafalloy Prolite
After reading all the hype and favorable reviews on the 975D, I decided to try it and see if it merited changing from my current driver, a Callaway Steelhead Plus. Bottom line: I just don’t understand all the praise for this club. I checked out the club on demo (9.5 degree with Grafalloy Prolite Stiff) for about two weeks and hit it every other day on the range and on the course. I also tried a few other loft and shaft configurations. Impact was dull and muted. Distance was about the same as my Steelhead, even when hit directly on the sweet spot. Forgiveness was average, which surprised me since the head is so big. Also, although I was hitting it fairly consistently, the 45-inch shaft is definitely harder to control. In short, this stick is NOT worth $400 plus tax. I suspect that many people have been sucked in by the marketing hype and the fact that so many PGA Tour players are using the 975D. But don’t forget – PGA Tour players are receiving big bucks to play certain clubs. And PGA Tour players could hit the ball 275 yards with a broomstick. If you want to see what clubs good players chose when not paid to do so, look at the Buy.com Tour (amateur tour, formerly the Nike Tour) where most players don’t receive endorsement money for playing particular clubs. Most amateurs are playing the PING TiSI, Callaways, and Taylor Mades. I’m sticking with my Steelhead – long, straight, forgiving, easy to hit, and inexpensive. 9.5 Prolite Stiff
After caving in the face of my Callaway Steelhead driver two months ago, I decided to consider all my options before purchasing a new stick with the refund the pro shop gave me. After trying all the major brands on demo days and borrowing friends’ drivers, I narrowed the decision down to the PING TiSI and the Titleist 975D. I liked the Ping because it was very long, straight, and incredibly forgiving; however, the club doesn’t have great feel and the stock Adila 350 series shafts were too soft and had too much torque for me. The 975D is amazing – just as long as the Ping on square hits, great feel, better control, and a variety of excellent shaft options. I found the Grafalloy Prolite and UST Gold Series 75 gave the best balance and performance. The EI-70 has too much torque for someone like me who still misses on the toe now and then, and the stock Titleist shafts don’t compare to the Prolite or UST. What most surprised me about the club was the trajectory – boring, top-spin flight that really runs when it hits the ground. Even on off-center hits, the club just powers through the ball. And when you hit right on the sweet spot, my God is it sweet! In short, I think the Titleist 975D is the finest driver currently available if you can reasonably consistently square the club face at impact, even for “high handicappers”. If you don’t square the club face well or want a lot of forgiveness, go with the PING. Similar Products Used: Callaway, PING, TaylorMade |
