Titleist 975J Drivers

Titleist 975J Drivers

DESCRIPTION

A new 300cc Prototype Driver... the 975J has been seen in many Tour bags early in '01. Very similar look to its wildly popular predecessor the 975D. Just slightly larger and with a different look to the face... scoreing lines are placed in an "insert" look a'la the Callaway GBB. ~CB

nice club, with a nice classic look. The extra size gives alot more confidence because of the forgivness factor which is better than the 975D. Although it is not as Humongous as most of the new drivers today. The VS tends to help draw the ball. The head makes a nice crack as the ball jumps off the club but suprisingly with alot less spin. If you are a pretty decent ball stiker or better, this club is worth a test run. For high handicappers this driver is not a majic wand, and/or will make you crush the ball 290, hitting 80% of Fwys...come on. The 975J, the previous version, had too much spin for me, and the 975J LE is way too huge 360cc) eeesh. The VS was a perfect fit. For anyone looking for a high performance Driver, at least try this one. One thing.. be sure you get a good shaft. I have hit the Fujikura Speeder in a 975J and it was much stiifer that I had thought. surprisingly a little too much. But it is VERY important to get a good shaft for this club(no UL).

one word to describe this club... SOLID. do NOT buy into the 400cc, 500cc hype. that crap is overrated. this club is a good blend of pop and workability. i use a Graffaloy Prolite 35S shaft... which i recommend very much. this club is forgiving, and perhaps a tad bit longer than the 975D. MAKE NO MISTAKE... this is a player's club... if u can't break 90, this club is probably not for u.

Ok, you people make me laugh! It sounds like a PGA players conference call. I have never heard so many golfers say they hit it constantly in the fairway, 290+ yards and score in the 70's and 80's. Give me a break! I play golf all the time and I can count on 2 hands how many hacks I pair up with that shoot in the 70's and 80's. Quit stroking your ego and be honest. It doesnt count that you shot 89 once at a goat ranch from the white tee's giving yourself a mulligan every 2 holes. Oh, by the way this driver is sweet, I hit it 320 yards everytime in the fairway. I birdie every hole with this club alone. I only use this one club, I dont have a putter or any irons. That's how good this club is. Get real everyone!!!

First things first...this is one awesome club! I recently upgraded my irons and decided to change out my driver as well. Without demo-ing anything I went shopping. Torn between the Nike 275cc and the 975J, I initially went with the NIke. That didn't last long, it stayed in the bag for a month and a half. I traded it in on the 975J and have been kicking myself in the rear for not buying the "J" in the first place. The 975J is an awesome stick. Minutes after purchasing it I headed out to the range. After my terrible experience with the Nike 275cc I was really unsure whether it was the club or my swing that was so jacked up. Turns out it must've been the club. After hitting two buckets of balls and lacing about 90% 275+ yds (and straight) I was sure this driver was going to stay in my bag for good. This notion was reaffirmed after playing two rounds of golf. The big problem I had with the Nike was a constant push-slice ball flight. With the "J" everything I hit is straight or with a slight draw. The good news though is, on those nasty dogleg rights, it has been quite easy to work the ball left to right. Very pleased with the performance I have experienced so far with the "J". Bottom line: Sweet feel, nice sound, excellent distance and easy to control. I strongly recommend checking out the 975J if you're in the market to upgrade or replace your existing driver. You won't be sorry, I'm certainly not.

I've played a draw all my life. The problem is it turns into a hook all too often. This club straightened me out. At a time when every manufacturer builds in a draw-bias to fight slicing I thought I'd never find a club to help me, but this is it. I used to play a 975D- Compared to that club the 975L-FE has at least one degree higher trajectory, maybe two. But the same sweet feel is there and the distance is terrific. I've got a stiff YS-6 shaft...a bit whippy for my taste. The shaft might account for the high trajectory. I can hardly wait for a used L-FE fairway wood to become available.

New Titleist 975 VS with GD YS-6 shaft. Great looking club with tremendous stability at impact. Great feel and sound off the tee. Mine is an 8.5 degree which has a pretty steep launch angle but still get a lot of roll. I have played only 3 rounds but this is a keeper. Have not seen a lot of additional distance over my old 975D, but is much more forgiving. The draw bias was not noticed except on the few that I took way right and they seemed to turn into only fades instead of slices. Shot a career low the first time I played a full 18 with this driver. Lets face it, $400 is a ton of money but this one may really be worth it.

Best driver out there. I thought i found the perfect driver with the J, but this blows it away. Im getting a bit more distance, and the feel and sound are far better than the original. Instead of a ting sound, it's more of a crack. The trajectory is a little lower than the J, and I can control it better. Definetly need to try it, if not buy it.

I too have been looking for the miracle cure to get off the tee. Well I have finally found it with the 975J. I find this driver as long as any of the rest and a lot more forgiving. Play 18 holes today and found the fairway on every drive but 2 and they were just a few feet in the rough. After all the drivers I have tried in the last year i think that if i can hit this one anyone MUST be able to. It's got to be the driver!!!! BUY ONE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!!!

Best looking driver all round. not like other huge, tin can looking ones out there on the market. I'm using the 9.5 with Titleist's ultralite 60 stiff graphite shaft. Incredible forgiveness on mis hits and still stays on the fairways. Fades are the only bad thing that will happen on mis hits. The Js have more roll especially for people with natural right to left flight, will get more distance. I used the 975D on several occasions and they tend to be more low and boring than the J as it goes low but hits high at the end. The feel upon impact is great and not too noisy like Callaway and others. I'm thinking of switching to Proforce 65 shaft to keep it lower but right now I'm happy with keeping 14 out 18 fairways everytime.

I am currenty using a 9.5* 975J with UST 65 stiff graphite shaft. Used to play with a Titleist 8.5* 975D driver. I really prefer the 975J over the 975D. The 975J seems to be more forgiving on off-center hits than the 975D. I would also say that I have picked up a few more yards on most of my drives with the J. I would recommend this club to anyone.
