Great club! Best I have ever hit. I Play the 9.5 degree with the Grafalloy Pro lite stiff.?xD;?xA;As with most drivers, shaft choice is critical. Find the right shaft for you and this driver will?xD;?xA;reward you. Very workable for a large headed driver, forgiving on mis-hits and awesome?xD;?xA;on the sweet spot. I average 260 and get the occasional beauty 275+. That is as long as any?xD;?xA;other driver I have ever hit. It gives me a natural slight draw, but I can work it left to right if I have?xD;?xA;to. Give it a try, but experiment with the shaft choices before you make a decision Customer Service Titleist stood behind their product when I had a slight stress crack in the first driver I bought.?xD;?xA;turnaround on the replacement was 4 weeks. I think that this is one of the best drivers I have ever owned. It really is one of the best. I had a 975D i think that it may have been a little too much club for me. This is a club that i think all level of players can enjoy. |

975j TT EI70 stiff
Went into puetz to buy the TM 320, and came out with the 975j. I have been playing the Ping ISI 8.5 stiff, and have found lately that though it is forgiving of miss hits (distance wise), control has been lack-luster. I like the ISI but when i need to work the ball or i am on a tight course things can some times go awry. The other thing that i did not like was the despite good distance the ping felt vacant..had to feel the club durring the swing, and on dead center hits. that took me to the golf store to look for a new jewel. I found it in the 975j. A very solid club. good weight, good sound, good trajectory, easy to work (a little harder to fade than to draw). I found it much more forgiving than the 975d, and with the new face only 10-15yards off my ping. i''ll take that hit to get the feel, consistance and workability. I love this driver. Liked the TM but it felt like the ping without the sound. I highly recommend this driver..go hit it. I second the comment that the shaft changes this club. I found my true love in the ei70 stiff. (all of the rest of my clubs are steel. this shaft feels solid and tight and has a great wieght.its all personal pref.) i thought that 8.5 would be too low for me but it was not. All total i spent 4-5 hours, 4-5 buckets of balls, and had them tape about every diver in their store. It was actually was fun. i recommend this store, service was good, pressure was low, try it before you buy it philosephy, and competative prices. Go see them if you live in seattle. 4 stars because of price (i''m a tight wad and 400$ is alot of cash) Similar Products Used: ping ISI 8.5, nike 9.5, taylormade 300, 320, 360, orlimar, adams, mizzuno. |

I love this driver. I can hit very straight and solid. I don''t care about the distance because I can hit more than 270 with most of drivers in the market. Similar Products Used: Titleist 975D 8.5 w/EI70 XS, Callaway Hawk Eye pro 9.5 Stiff |

I recently switched from a Callaway Driver to the 975J searching for a better feel when striking the ball. The second I hit this driver, I new it was a buy. It might be a little costly but you certainly pay for what you get. This driver strkies the ball with a face creating an explosion that reduces a great deal of spin. No matter how bad you swing, this driver wont send the ball all over the course. You gain a certain control that no other driver could ever give you. If yo to get of the tee with ease, this driver is the way to go. |

I was a little hesitant to buy another driver from Titleist. I had a 975 D before and couldn''''t control it very well. The guys at my pro shop recommended it highly. So I paid retail for it. BEST MOVE FOR MY GAME I HAVE EVER DONE. I haven''''t missed but about 3 fairways in 4 rounds. The only ones really that I''''ve missed is when I hit through the fairway. I hit the ball very high so I went with the 7.5 degree driver. I have owned just about everything and I believe I have a real winner with this club. Really staight and long. It''''s a little hrad to draw the ball. Although I usually hit a fade. REally forgiving. The shaft is a great compliment to the club. I tried one of my friends with a steel shaft and I didn''''t like it at all. A little pricy. But hell if you are out driving your buddies by 20 yards. It''''s worth it! Customer Service None I hope Similar Products Used: Taylor Made 320,360: Supersteel: Titleist 975 D: Just about everything |

Attended a Titleist Demo one day just to see what sort of new products they had. Up until that time I had been playing the Callaway X-14 Pro Series irons and hitting the Taylor Made 320 with UST 65 shaft. I went into the demo not really expecting to find anything better than I had been playing the past season or so. Well I was wrong. After hitting the 822OS irons (and purchasing a set to replace my pro series) I thought I''''d check out the drivers. They had an assortment of lofts and shaft configurations. I generally tried 9.5 and 10.5 degree lofts in stock, grafalloy, EI70 and UST 75 and 65 shafts. As you might imagine, there were sometimes great differences in ball flight that the shafts created. I could not hit the Grafalloy or the EI70 well at all. And for that matter, could not get consistant results with the UST 65 that I had been playing in the past. However, when I combined the UST 75 with the 975J head, well, shot after shot seemed to be very consistant and predicable. Ball flight was mid to high and penetrating. I could work the ball both ways but the natural tendancy seemed to be slightly left to right. Much better than the sweeping hooks I sometimes get from my TM320 with UST 65. I talked to the rep. a little bit and was going to get the 10.5 degree that matched the loft of my TM 320. He talked me into the 9.5 though as he said the combination of the 975J head with the UST 75 shaft will give me launch angles similar to the TM320 with UST 65. For that matter, he also said that players switching from the 975D to the 975J should also get a lower loft than their current 975D. All in all, I was very impressed with the Demo and purchased the 975J. The length is as long or longer than the TM320 I was hitting and it seemed that the head is more forgiving and I kept the driver on line better than my current setup. The cost of the club is a bit high, but how can you compare costs for something that will keep you in the short grass more often than not. Customer Service No experience yet. 9.5 975J w/ graffaloy prolite S-flex
This is by far the most solid driver I have ever hit. Since I have had it, I have hit more fairways than ever before and I have a lot more confidence off of the tee box. The J model features more carry than the D model but still provides plenty of roll. You can''t go wrong with this club, just get fitted for the proper shaft type and flex since they come with so many options. The 975 J is a very unique animal. It has alot of the same characteristics as the D except that it is larger. It has longer carry and less roll than the D. It is much more accurate than the D given this fact. The D being more compact one can work the ball much more freely left and right. I have had the opportunity to play both the D and the J extencively for several years. I have probably played 10 or more different head shaft set ups of each the D and the J and the two I settled on to keep and play have been a face milled down 8.5 975-D with a Fujikura Speeder shaft 265 Cpm and a stock 7.5 975-J with the same shaft and frequency. The differences in distance are minimal if any the J is just a little more forgiving and has less roll. The D plays more true to loft than the J does so if you want a J go one degree less. Be careful with shafts there are alot of companies playing the game out there. I recomend Fujikura first and Graphite Design second. Week end and out the Darrell survey has reviewed the touring players and since Nov. of 2000 Fuji has more shafts in the bag weekly than any other Co. 2nd has been a close Graphite Design or True Temper. I like Harrison alot but they don''t have a large showing on tour. If they were marketed like UST pushes it''s junk it would probably give Fuji a good run for market share. Understand this head is only what you like to look at and amount of workability you want. The shaft is the engine and the most important thing. Put your money there everytime. The only down side to any Titleist product is the retail price they put on it. They are always real proud of their stuff, and they are not ashamed to let the buying public know it.
