I bought my Titleist 975J several years ago. It was the first driver that I ever really felt comfortable with. Eventually, I "graduated" to a Taylormade R7 425. This year I bought a used Cleveland Launcher 400 driver as a backup. Both clubs are nice and I have nothing bad to say about them. I was having problems hitting fairways this year though. My wife had pulled my 975J out of the basement to use in a company golf event. I had forgotten about it. Just for fun I put it back in my bag and took it to the range. Wow!! Why did I ever let this club go? I hit it straighter AND farther. Trust me. Bigger is not better. Customer Service None needed. Similar Products Used: Cleveland Launcher 400, Taylotmade R7 425 |

I'm getting back into golf after a ten year lay off (played some in college) and man oh man. Last week I picked up a used Titleist 983 at a local Golf Galaxy and was happy with this one. Was in another Golf Galaxy this weekend and was just looking around. Knowing that I needed to have a spare I picked up this 975. Before I selected it, I tried out the 905, the R7 and the R5 and honestly this is the only one that felt any good. Took it to the range last night and after getting my swing in order, man oh man, it seemed to want to run as far away as it could from the club head. Every time I swung it. It was easily topping 200 and for me who was hitting 150 a few weeks ago this is amazing. |

I am off 10 handicap and while i was waiting for my new R7 draw to be delived i was using this club for the weekend! i could not beleive how nice it was and how straight i hit it! i have a natural cut on my shots which sometimes turns into a slice on my drive! but this was so forgiving and i hit 14 fairways in my round of 79! very happy and it is in my bag infront of the new taylormade r7! I've been taking up golf again and decided it was time to start trying some real players clubs. I didn't want to invest a whole lot of money, so I picked up a Titleist 975J 8.5 with a UST stiff shaft online for $20. It's amazing! I've test drove a number of newer drivers such as the R5, R7, Big Bertha 454, Hi-Bore and none of them suited me quite like the 975J does. My previous driver is an Nickent Super Concorde and while I had some success with it, it's night and day with the Titleist.
Customer Service Not needed, but I bought the club from Globalgolf.com and would not hesitate to buy from them again. They are fantastic! Similar Products Used: Sampled lots but not owned much. |

Wow, picked this up basically for free when I bought a set of Precept tour premium forged irons. What a totally underrated club! I must have lucked into a perfect shaft too, because I have all of a sudden learned to hit a gentle draw with this thing. I can't hit a gentle draw with a 460cc head to save my life. Anyway they are so reasonable now on ebay you can experiment with shafts but I swing around 95 mph and I was hitting a lot of quality shots with the UST Proforce 65 stiff shaft and the 8.5 degree loft for the head.

I, along with Richi Red am 13 years old and hit 210-220. I unlike Richi love this driver. It is long and straight, but easy to put intentional draw on it. I have had it for 2 years and learn new ways to better the shot. It is light and easy to control. Customer Service none |

975J Titleist Driver 9.5 degree penley x-stiff
I've been hitting this driver for 4 years now. My swing speed tested at Golfsmith is an average 112mph. This driver is perfect! I've been test driving Ping Rapture, Titleist D2,D1, Taylormade Burner, Callaway 460X, and a few others. What was amazing is that my old driver kicked the pants off these newer drivers in distance and control. I'm a scratch golfer so my swing is pretty groved, I don't need the 460cc forgiveness and frankly can't control that huge head as well anyway. I think for better golfers the 300cc of the 975J is perfect for confident workability. I shape this driver on demand and hit the ball with low spin and long carries that still roll. My average drives with this club have been consistently around 310 w/30 yards of roll. On wet days I still carry the ball 280. Don't get sold on the hype of "new tech." The closest match would be the Ping Rapture but for $430 I'll keep using my 975J! |

What can i say, i was forced into taking out this 'old' driver (as mine was being re-shafted), and to be frank it was the best thing thats ever happend to my game. Perfect in every way, classic looks, great name, goes like stink, dirt cheap and the most important point for most club golfers, really helps with consistency off the tee. I missed two fairways all day hitting it long and straight, on my way to a 1 over par 71. It's safe to say my search for the perfect driver is over! Get one right now! i purchased this driver for $100 at Nevada Bob's. I bought the Stiff flex and 10.5 degree head. Took it to the course today for the first time and this club produced dead straight shots. The problem is that it launches so I high that all my drives ballooned. I was lucky to get 230 total yards and I am use to 260-290 total. The stock shaft is just not a true stiff. Great head though...if you can upgrade the shaft it would well be worth your while or if you swing slower, give the stiff a try before you go with the regular. All in all a solid driver but not for the higher swing speeds. Customer Service excellent, was on hold for 2 minutes and then I guy came on and could answer any technical question I asked...lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either Similar Products Used: R580, Titleist 975j, Jazz P2W |
