Best 3-wood I have ever played. Tried the Steelheads for a while (among others)but also struggled with a fairway slice, so tended to leave that club in the bag. But the Hawkeye is incredibly long and straight. I can out-drive the Steelhead Driver. Just to make sure it was the club and not me, I went back to the Steelhead, and the slice returned. Decided to buy the Hawkeye VFT driver on the theory that it would be as good as the 3-wood. And yes, it is a very good driver (was using the ERCII, which was a whole lot of fun to play. Really, I mean it: more fun than Disneyland) But the Hawkeye VFT driver is not is much fun as the ERC, although I can hit it as long and straighter. Thinking about re-shafting it. Back to the 3-wood. Outstanding club. Laser-like tragetory, and very consistent. And who the hell cares about the price?

Purchase 4 wood first. As long as some 3 woods at 16.5 degrees and 43 inch shaft.Easy to hit and straight to slight draw. The system 60 shaft is the best OEM shaft available. Moved on to the 2 wood amd 7 wood. The 2 is 13 degrees and still easy to hit off of the deck. I bought this club for tight driving holes and approaches on Par fives. I have cosistently hit this club 255 to 260 yds off of the turf. This new territory for me. With my Ping I3(slightly easier to hit than VFT 2 wood) 14 degree, I could count on 235 to 245 yds. The VFT 4 wood will almost go that far and is easier to hit. The 7 wood was hardest to standout as most 7 woods are no brainers to hit. However, the 7 wood went on a straight long and high path. If there has ever been a better fairway wood than the VFT, I sure wood like to try it (I have tried them all) I also tried my wife''s VFT 3wood (15.5 degree) with light(senior) flex. Even though I play Firm shafts, the light flex withstood my swing. These are great shafts and this 3 wood is really easy to hit and very long. I probably could have gone with a 3 wood and a 5 wood. I now must try the 10 degree driver.

This wood is really long off the tee and extremely accurate. I hit this one as far or further than my Ping TiSi Driver and with much more accuracy (had a bad fade with the driver). Thus, I have removed the driver from my bag. In my last round at a very difficult course, I did not miss a fairwary and was outdriving everyone in the foursome. The built in draw bias is a perfect fit for my game. I absolutely love this club!!

All I can say is thank God for Callaway VFT woods! For years I've always had a slice problem. While I've mostly corrected it by changing my swing, it still creeps in occasionally. What I like about the 3 Wood is the consistently straight ball flight even on off center hits. I tend to smack the ball off the toe alot and I'm only losing maybe 10-15 yards. Center hits will give you excellent distance and low trajectory. My handicap has dropped 5 strokes since picking this club up.

My review is very similar to Robs. The 3 wood absolutley explodes on contact and is great from all lies.

The size of the head is a little large, but this appears to make little difference.

I also tried the VFT driver for 8 or so rounds and absolutely hated it. No distance and a dud feel.

The 3 wood, however, is sweeeet.

I've tried many 3 woods, but so far, this one is outstanding. I've only taken it on the course once. I'm a former Supersteel user. It was good, but this thing...I can blast it 240 which is great for me. And its pretty straight too. I play for my normal slice and by aiming left, I hit far left. I'm not used to playing without the banana ball. I got it for a great price so that makes it even better.

This is by far and away the best driver I have ever hit. I am consistantly straight and between 310-335 yards. I feel like Tiger Woods. If you ask me $400 is a bargain for this club. The feel, the sound, and the distance are unmatched. It is the perfect club.

I just got this club in the mail since i broke my hawkeye 3 wood with 65 proforce, callaway sent me the new vft since they had no more hawkeye heads left.. cool huh.. Well not really!!! this club is hard to hit.. i can't hit a fade if my life depended on it..everything draws or hooks and i play a cut/fade.. now i have to learn how this club works.. the sound sucks compared to hawkeye and the distance is a lil longer than the hawkeye, since it promotes draw..

i am impressed that a club can make u hit draw naturally tho.

if i had to pay for this club.. I wouldn't!!!! not worth the damn money

i will post back later if this club turns out to be any better than what i think of it right now.. it sucks so far.. vft driver is even worse

Sidenote: if you have a hawkeye or any callaway woods.. if you break it, like at the hosel.. most like callaway will upgrade you to the vft since they don't make hawkeye's anymore.. i don't have a callaway shaft so they had to replace the shaft i had to

Customer Service

best in the world.. fast shipping and not questions ask.. they sent me my new club and free shipping for my broken one too.

I have used this driver for the past few months and it has improved my game dramaticly.I have a callaway hawkeye VFT driver that is 8 degrees and has a firm big bertha system 60 tuned performance shaft. Before this i had a taylormade burner with a regular shaft and 11.5 degrees of loft. The VFT is a great club for all golfers but the driver with a stiff shaft and a low degree of loft should only be used by people with clubhead speeds that exceed 100 mph. The feel of the driver is very good with smooth repeatably good contact but without lots of practice and a consistent swing i have found out that the feel is not as good and it is easy to lose right. I have not owned any other VFT or callaway clubs in general but have demoed X-14 and Hawkeye irons and am considering a new set of irons. Though it is not a callaway i have an Odyseey White Hot #3 putter. I recomend the VFT to anyone who works hard to constantly improve their game and is willing to sacrifice time and effort to hit the driver correctly
