I had been playing with a driver and a taylormade rescue dual 16 deg hybrid instead of a 3 wood. I also have 19 and 22 deg hybrids. For me the 16 and 19 are not worlds apart - 200 metres for the 19, 210m for the 16 i I strike it well. Neither is really long enough to be a viable driver replacement (260m for me)on a tight par 4. So I decided to look at a 15deg 3 wood to replace the 16 hybrid. I first tried the cobra f speed to match my sz 460 driver. This is a good club - easy to hit with a large head. Off the tee I liked it although the closed face got me drawing a bit too strong. Off the fairway however I didn't like it - head too big, face too deep for comfort. I also hit it very high - I was look for a stronger, lower flight - so I can use the 3 in windy conditions rather than the driver or hybrids which have high trajectories as well. Then I tried the Titleist 904 f. Much better flight trajectory and really long when I caught it. Lovely club - maybe when I get into single figure handicap. Then I tried the mizuno with the stiff exsar fs2 shaft. Just right for me - not as forgiving as the cobra, but ok for me. Lovely strong trajectory that I can really work left or right easily. Flying 230m for me but with a draw and low flight this rolls another 20m. Almost as long as my driver and way more accurate. Highly recommeded for the intermediate to better golfer that wants a strong 3 wood. Customer Service no experience Similar Products Used: cobra f/speed, titleist 904f, Taylormade r7 |
