Nike SasQuatch SQ2 Fairway Woods

Nike SasQuatch SQ2 Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

The new SasQuatch 2 Fairway Woods feature a new Monorail Sole design which cuts through all types of lies. In addition, Nike has added weight to the perimeter of the Nike PowerBow to move the center of gravity further back than the original SasQuatch Fairway Wood, which results in higher launch and greater distance. Nike tops it all off with a new Cryo Steel face for a larger and hotter sweet spot.

Model Reviewed: SQ2 3 & 5 Woods

I played the 3 and 5 woods reshafted with Prolaunch Platinum graphite shafts. The 3w is long when hit on the screws. The 5w is shorter in distance than comparable 5 woods. May be due to the fact Nike's 5 woods are shorter in length than most other 5w's in the market. The feel is crisp and strong. I emailed NIke and Cryo face is 475 steel. The face is harder feeling than any other wood I've tried. The head shape is nice and small with a rounded bottom. Overall nice clubs but the SQ2's did not suit my preference.

Customer Service

Nike has excellent customer service. Probably the best as of now.

I bought this 5 wood because i have nike irons and it was a solid feel when i handled it. The first time i hit it i knew it would be my favorite club. I recently bought a ping g10 3 wood and quickly returned it the next day. I took the monry i got back and bought the SQ2 3 wood. i love these clubs.

The new Nike Hybrid 3 (20 loft) is my "go to" club. Hits long-straigt-high, great for confidence on tight tees and fairways. Good chance you make your 2nd on the green on your par4s even if you don't bomb your drive - lands real soft on the green and stays there. I would probably score best going out with just this club and a few lofted irons/wedges and putter (interesting test to seriously consider).
Consider - I am 43, 6ft, not very agile and mostly arms in my swing. Been playing for 2 years.

I have less control and consistancy with the new SQ2 3 wood (15 loft), that extra shaft length and clubhead size adds an extra 20 yards over my 3 hybrid, especially in roll, but when considering distance vs. accuracy, the 3 hybrid is a winner with me.

WOW! I baught this club and have played with it 2 time and havent even used my driver. I am out driving my competiters by 10 yards and hitting most fairways. This club is also great out of the rough, i hit it about 220 from thick rough. I strongly recomend this club

Have been playing this club now for about 2 months with excellent results. I tried every 3-wood they had in Golfsmith (seriously, every one) and found the setup and feel of this club to be better than anything else.

As others have mentioned this club is long for a 3-wood. I am averaging about 245 and sometimes getting over 265 with it. The in-store monitor said I was averaging about 95mph and the salesman suggested that the stiff Diamana shaft would be best.

Length is all well and good, but the best thing about this club is how reliably straight it is. My normal ball flight is a bit right to left, but I sometimes get lazy and the ball leaks to right. Either way, this club rarely punishes me too badly. I now have great confidence standing over the ball on the tee. So much so that I think I might give up my "no driver" rule and check out this club's big brother.

Customer Service

I have to say that the service at the downtown San Francisco Golfsmith was really great the night I bought this club. They patiently let me work my way through every possible option. I also got this club on sale for about $150.

Never bought a Nike club before. Was looking for a 3 wood and saw this on sale with a stiff shaft for 130 at a local store and thought it was reasonable.

Good call. Never broke 80 before last Sunday. This club helped me shoot 74. Used it off the tee, from the fairway and the rough. It is very easy to hit from any lie.

My miss is a hook and this club can be worked either way with medium height. It is confidence inspiring knowing I could free wheel it without fear of hooking it into the left rough. I carry it around 240 with little roll.

Well done Nike. It will make look at their products the next time I feel the need to go club ho'ing.

Goes absolutely miles for a 3 wood.
Great trajectory of flight as well as a great feel when hit on the sweetspot.

Picked it up second hand for 75 quid and one of the best buys i have made.
Can hit it 250 on my day, which is unbelievable for me.
Recommend it for most levels of players!

I am a golf equipment junkie. Believe me when I say I have tried almost everything in the market. It took me a long time to find a three wood that I liked. I had avoided Nike clubs in my search because I had never liked them in the past. Well, am I glad I gave them another go.

This three wood is fantastic. Beautiful weight and balance. Head shape is pure and the set-up is perfect and what great decision by Nike to incorporate the Diamana shaft with their clubs. What a fantastic shaft, smooth and long.

If you hit the ball low, you find better options, but EVERYONE should try these fairway woods. They are brilliant. I used to think my Callaway X hot 3 wood was long but this is just as long and much much straighter.

Well done Nike. I love it so much, I'm looking at buying the driver too!

Model Reviewed: Nike SQ2 Fairway wood

This is a follow up to my earlier review of the Nike SQ2 Fairway Wood. I own the 4 wood and after hitting this club for about 12 rounds I can't say enough about how nice this club plays. I hit it from the tee, fairway, and rough with excellent results. I do not use a driver, I only use the 4 wood from the tee because I hit this just as good, if not better than any driver I ever hit. I read and heard about M.O.I. and thought it was a bunch of marketing trash until I swung this club. I have swung many other clubs when I golf with friends and none compare to the SQ2. It has changed my game. I strongly reccomend giving this club a try.
