Nike T-40 - Tour Fairway Woods

Nike T-40 - Tour Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

While a great fairway wood can be a golfer''s favourite club in the bag, compensating for short drives, rescuing errant balls from the rough and inspiring confidence for that shot over the lake, a bad wood is just a well?meaning croquet mallet. With an innovative design that offers optimum distance, accuracy and trajectory, Nike Golf is going for greatness. The Nike T-40 Fairway Woods, made with club craftsman Tom Stites, represent Nike''s entry into fairway wood sales. After extensive research and feedback from professionals including David Duval, the T-40 series will be available in Oversized and Tour models.

Tired this girl out on Golfmart's sim. It was steel shafted. Ball speed was good so I bought it. The balance is superb as is the feel. I didn't like the set-up with the steel shaft, (I'm 6'3") so, I re-shafted it with a Penley Tour Light in S flex tipped one inch. Boy,, what a difference. Balance and feel were still there but, the lighter shaft and correct length gave it a life of it's own. Off the deck, I slap this girl about 235 to 240. I can fade, draw, punch low hotties, just about anything I want to do with it. Once in a while the cosmic tumblers line up and things are perfect. This is the last 3 wood I will ever buy. It's that nice.

Model Reviewed: Nike T40 15* 3 Wood

I ordered the 3 wood to match my Driver, (Regular Flex Graphite) it took a 3 trips to the range to get used to the club. I have used a Callaway Original Steelhead for 3+ years until the Nike, the Steelhead is great 3 wood but the Nike is longer and has a better feel to it...Different sound but that's OK...IMHO Nike makes very clubs, the quality and performance is excellent.

Customer Service

This thing is DEEP! I have a newer Mizuno driver and I blister the Nike 3 wood past it, 290-300 in the air and it rolls like crazy. I actually left my driver in the bag yesterday and didn't miss a fairway.

This is by far the longest 3 wood i've ever hit. It has a beautiful boring flight and i hit it about 20-25 yards further than my old Callaway Steelhead Plus 3 wood. I can hit all the shot with this club, a draw, fade, knockdown shots, etc. The only disadvantage i can see for some players is that it's got a fairly shallow face, compared to the Steelhead. This is not a problem for me, but for some, it may be.
