Model Reviewed: Fairway Master 15* 3-wood

I was having trouble hitting my older ping 3-wood off the deck, so I wanted something that would give me a little forgiveness and solid contact. John at ZT set me up with a nice Fairway Master. I've found it remarkably easy to hit, with some surprising distance. I'm not sure about how well it performs in the rough, because of its low profile, but off the fairway it gives a nice, long trajectory and decent roll. Off of the fairway, I found that a smooth tempo resulted in very solid contact and great flight, if a little more left than I'd anticipated (probably b/c I'm used to a fade off my Ping). It's an easy-swinging performance club.

Customer Service

THE BEST. John is attentive and genuinely wants feedback. They incorporate comments into their new products very effectively.

Model Reviewed: zero tolerance fairway master 3 wood

was looking for a low profile fairway wood with a decent width. saw the ZT fairway master and it met those criteria and had excellent reviews. dont normally buy clubs without hitting them, but cant really find the lesser name clubs to demo. Was on sale at clubwerks.com at a great price, so took a chance and bought this club and was not disappointed. Got it with the Graphite Design YS8.1 stiff. Great match for my swing. No longer slice my 3 wood, but get nice boring trajectory shots. With the low profile, have to be careful about teeing it up too high, otherwise you get the sky balls. Shallowing out your swing works well with this club. I think I will look into the 5 wood now.

I have a 13* model. This club is simply superb. It goes long and it goes straight. The ball flight is boring and there is lots of roll, which I was looking for in a 13* model. Very easy to hit off the deck with its low profile head design. And the sound is crisp and clean, giving its hitter great feedback. Coupled with the SLT-60 shaft, this club scores a perfect 10!

Customer Service

Alwas have enjoyed communicating with John. Best service in the industry.

Model Reviewed: Zero Tolerance Fairway Master 18*

I''''ve been using the ZT Fairway Master for quite some time with good results. My initial inquiry was only to update my ZT FM to get the newer version in blue (the older model is grey) to match the other ZT woods in the bag. However, John at ZT said the club had been modified in more ways than just the color so I quickly asked for a demonstration model. Although I''''ve found the pairing of an Apache PM40+ with the ZT FM to be a good combination, I opted to go with the ZT XLT-70 shaft as my results had been so good with the ZT CJ Fairway wood. The XLT-70 is truly the first shaft I''''ve used that lets me swing confidently without feeling like I have to overpower the ball. The shaft seems deceivingly light and flexible but holds up well through the swing with a very consistent kick. ZT describes the shaft as being much more consistent from swing to swing than other graphite shafts and I''''ve seen nothing in my testing to argue with that claim. Like the other ZT woods, the club looks fantastic. I love the deep blue and the XLT-70 shaft certainly complements that look with its deep blue to black coloring. I''''m a fan of shallow-faced fairway woods so this sets up quite nicely for me. In fact, other than the color, the look is identical to the previous version of the Fairway Master. It may be a little wider than other shallow-faced fairway woods but I find that look rather reassuring when hitting from less than optimal lies. Otherwise, the usual quality look and feel that we''''ve come to expect from ZT products are alive and well in the Fairway Master. However, while this club may look basically the same as its predecessor, to say they''''ve "tweaked" it is a vast understatement. Change #1: Feel. Impact provides a much crisper, distinct form of feedback. The previous version, while not mushy, was certainly more muted than this. I also find the feedback much more accurate in telling me exactly where and what my contact was like. Change #2: Sound. The sound matches the new feel - crisper with more of a solid tone (something like a gunshot as compared to a "whump"). Change #3: Distance. I''''m getting 5-10 more yards with this version of the Fairway Master. To be fair, some of this is almost certainly attributable to the shaft. However, I feel like I can count on this club for a solid 225 yards vs

Customer Service

15-Degree is a HOT! Low-Flying Rocket off the tee. My friend hit it, with me in my cart up ahead. I heard the ball zipping by cart-high.. landed 230 and rolled on-and-on-and-on!! Pretty easy to hit, forgiving, hot off the face. Can pop it up if ball tee''''d too high. Also, a little easy to top it, but that might just be me (keep lifting my head!) I hit this farther and straighter than my Callaway Biggest Big Bertha Driver. (and much more consistently!) Beautiful Deep Blue. An impressive club! No better value out there! I am waiting for their newest driver to debut so I can "officially" retire Bertha. Already, I mainly use my 15-degree Fairway Master off the tee.

21* Easy to hit. Easy to get up in the air, but not too high trajectory. Excellent distance! Great in fairways, fairway rough, and probably fairway bunkers (but way too beautiful to hit in the sand.. I keep my Adams TightLies for the fairway sand.) Great value! Great club!

In looking for an all purpose fairway wood I saw reviews on various sites about zero tolerance woods. Ham & Egg raved about them and i decided to try one. I chose the bi-matrix stiff shaft and the control and consistency is far superior to any club I''ve previously used. These clubs are a real find and the price for this custom built club was half that of my Orlimar. I prefer the fairway master to the Orlimar I''d been using.

Customer Service

Excellent. I received valuable advice on the characteristics of various shafts before selecting the Bi-matrix

Specifics: ZT Fairmay Master 21* XLT70 shaft regular flex 43" GP Crossline grip LOOK & FINISH: My first impression upon receiving the club from John was that its look is absolutely stunning. The mirror deep-blue finish is definitely a full step up from all OEM products. The club sets up well with the ball, but its face is slightly shallower than that of Orlimar''s and Adam''s, making me hesitant to use it off the tee. With the way it looks right now, there is no way I will risk putting stupid marks on it. The deep-blue color theme of this head-shaft combo works really well, understated and yet classy. PERFORMANCE: From the first hit on, everything is intuitive. Grip it, put on a smooth swing, and there goes the ball down its path toward the target. Balls get airborne easily, and most importantly hold their line very well. Feel at impact is sweet and solid, just like what you expect from maraging steel-faced woods. The XLT70 shaft feels stable but provides a noticeable amount of kick at impact. Great shaft! Based on the results I get with the FM, I''ll try the XLT70 in a driver next time.

Customer Service

John''s always been class act. Zero Tolerance is the best in industry in terms of customer service, bar none!
