I bought these clubs in 1989 when I was in the eighth grade. Twelve years later, I'm wondering If I'll ever find a set of clubs I like better.

These are simply the best engineered clubs I have ever played, and I'm posting here to ask a question. For those of you who agree with me (about the 845's prowess) what iron set would you recommend if I ever get the inkling to buy another set?
I have no earthly idea, so I'm hoping someone else will have some info...thanks!

I purchased these in 1991 (10 years ago) so have been considering buying new clubs recently.
For the first 9 of these 10 years I was a basher and still managed to score OK with these.
Now I can hit the ball better, I find these clubs sensational. I have recently tried several others at our club pro shop, which lends them to me for some time. After much consideration, in which price was not an issue, I decided to keep these and just get them regripped becouse I like them so much.
I think these are a good alround club for beginners to people in the mid 70's. The sweet spot is forgiving and still enable you to shape the ball.

The 845's are a classic, however, thier design is becoming a little outdated. I purchased the 845's several years ago when I was a high handicapper. The clubs are of average forgiveness and have only minor feel. They are a great value being priced half as much as many mainstream clubs, but you get what you pay for. I currently use Hogan Apex Edge because they feel like butter even though they are not blades they are so consistent with a perfect rainbow loft. I would recommend these irons to anyone from 100+ to scratch.

I bought these clubs in November of '92 and have loved them from the first time I hit the ball. Ive now had them nearly 9 years and the clubs still look and feel great. Ive had 3 aces with them and the offset hosel makes hitting the long irons as easy as hitting a wedge. From the time I bought them until now, my handicap has gone from a 15 to a solid 3. I probably wont buy another set since these have held up so well. I plan on getting a set of Cleveland TA3 FORM FORGED since hitting them, but I figure when Im a little older and cant hit the traditional style clubs, Ill go right back to them and pick up where I left off. A great club not to be looked over.

Great clubs, the best I have ever hit. Steel shafts feel great. I usually use tour wrap grips, but the original grips felt so great I left them. I can even hit the long irons if the couse is designed for me to use them. I like the jeavy head feel, it gives better feedback as to where the face is - much better than the new light feel clubs.

Many, have GP Black Knight Graphites, but they tend to feel too light.
I like the sand wedge fron the 845 oversize better than the original 845 Sand wedge, though. Better designed for the kind of sand I play in (Far too often, I fear).

Great set of sticks! Bought them new 2 years ago on advice from a golf buddy. Very workable, good lines at address, exceptional price. If you can get your hands on a set, don't miss the opportunity!

I loved these clubs. I just played a round with a friends set and played great.Big sweet spot and you hardly feel the ball when you hit it. They are a little heavy but fits my swing great. I will try and buy these from my friend.

Hands down, the best irons ever made. i've played these for maybe 4 years. haven't wanted to change them, and wont want to any time in the future as far as i can tell. when i first got them the face was a little small, but now that i'm a bit better it doesn't matter. you can work the ball very well with these but your off center shots(hooks/slices) are really amplified. but it wont impact you as long as you hit it good.

I purchased these clubs thirteen years ago. Until this year, I've never felt like I needed to buy anything else. When I purchased these I was shooting in the high 90's and the low 100's. These clubs have taken me to sub-par rounds, to club championships and to winning trophies and prizes. Very workable and rewarding clubs with enough forgiveness to keep you out of trouble but also enough feedback to let you know that your swing may need some work.

I just purchased new irons (Callaway Hawkeyes with tungsten injection) more as a status synbol than anything else, or maybe it was just as a reward to myself instead of spending it on my kids as I usually do. Regardless, there's no way in hell I'll ever let go of those TA 845's. I'll probably use them to tinker around with various shafts, maybe grind on them a little and eventually offer them as a starter set to my grandson, with the understanding, of course, that I eventually get to caddy for him in the state amateur championship!

These are terrific clubs and absolutely the best value in golf!

Customer Service

Great service! Original set ordered at 1 degree upright and 1/2" long. Swing has since flattened out properly doesn't require extra length on shaft.

I've had these clubs for 8 years and am finally looking to move on. My game has improved dramatically with these clubs, but I feel to take the next step, I need irons with more feel and workability. Nevertheless, I'm not selling the either (just in case). You can't beat the value of these clubs. Nothing better for the price!
