I've spent three months reseaching for a new set. Read hundreds of reviews from many different sites, hit about every club I can get my hands on. I eventually settled for these, because like many others have stated, these are simply one of the best value golf clubs ever made, who cares if they are not the latest thing on the market, when they make you look and feel so good on the course.

Bought the 845 irons last year as a clearence. Armour was discontinuing the set at the time. They have since added the chrome model. It took me some time to learn how to hit with these irons; they have a smaller head than most. Once you get the feel for these clubs you will love them. If you strike the ball correctly with a nice slow swing, you hear a "click" and the ball takes off like a rocket. Just bought the 2 iron for the set. People at the driving range wanted to test it and they all loved the club. Most golfers are stunned when they find out that one of golf finest iron sets ever made (won 23 PGA tournaments) can be had for about $299. Try these clubs before buying the more expensive models.

Bought the 845's used from local used sport equipment store about 8 years ago. They are a good iron set and the design is still selling long after the other manufacturers have gone to the next new style. Says alot for the origional engineering that went into the clubs. The set is still a great value for what you get.
The long irons take a while to get used to but the mid and short irons are ready to go right out of the box. Off center hits let your hands know it real quick. The sweet spot is alot smaller than the current "game improvement" clubs, but you won't find a better set to grow with than these. Good hits are rewarded, bad hits are immediately fed back.

Model Reviewed: New 845s Silver Scot cr

I was a little hesitant since the box said made in China. I bought the new polished chrome finish 845s Silver Scot irons with True Tempered Tour Step stiff shafts. I have played 9 holes 2 times and one 18 hole round. It took me a few holes to just learn to swing the clubs like the blades I was use to. I started to hit them straight and long. Now I wish I had gotten them years ago. I have been shooting around 50 the last two years but had two 42s and now know what they mean by boring shots. Played with a good golfer who had Titleist DC990 irons and used the same clubs for equal distances. I hit one 168 yard par 3 green on the fly with a 6 iron and the ball hit and rolled 4 feet. Other not well hit shots went 10 times as far as bad shots with my old blades. For $249.95 3-PW, I did not go wrong!

This is a classic model. I always feel like a real golfer when I carry this iron. Distance is a little shorter than my MacGregor MT and Mizuno True, but the feel and control are better than Mizuno True. It hits the ball higher than MT, and is as accurate as MT. Much easier to hit than Mizuno True. This iron is on sale at many places, it's better to re-grip the whole set since the grips got hardened because of time.

A wonderful set of Irons to review. I got 3-PW 2 seasons ago..I went from shooting high 100s to low 80s..just recently i posted a 40 for 9 holes my personal best. The clubs have a excellent feel and look great in the bag. As the price drops to 250 in my area..these awesome clubs are a steal. They are very forgiving and solid for any golfer. highly Recommended.
