These are the solid and best feeling irons I have ever played. They have been around for 20 years and still are the best irons in golf. The progressive offset allows me to draw my long irons and control my short irons. The feed feed back with steel shafts is great, you can tell when you hit the ball sweet. At a price of under $300 I wouldn't look at any other irons.

These are excellent, no frills irons in my opinion, best suited for a decent to very good player. Very good distance control, and mis-hits don't suffer much distance-wise. Though it says oversized, the clubhead is not much bigger than the original 845s. But it is much better looking. The big difference on these is the sweet spot is located in the center of each clubhead, not up and down the face depending on the iron like the originals. Feel is good for a cast club, workability far superior to any cavity back I've hit. You can really curve the ball with these for those times ""high and straight"" won't work. Progressive offset is very effective at helping the middle and longer irons get up higher, while keeping the scoring irons very traditional looking and easy to aim. Great clubs.

After more than 10 years with a set of original black diamond Titleist DCIs, I finally broke down and bought new clubs. Settled on the original 845s after hitting everything else in the shop, simply based on their classic look and feel. WARNING -- the 845s are so inexpensive, in my opinion, because the technology hasn't changed on this club since it was introduced in the late '80s. The progressive offset does not benefit the better player, and Armour's Tour Step shaft is, in a word, crap. Make sure you consider everything out there before going with these, and if you buy them, bear in mind that you cannot be fitted for 845s -- the factory no longer takes orders for custom lies/lofts. Yes, they look great, but there's better technology out there. My new set of Maxfli Revolutions (fitted) are on the way.

Have played these irons for 7 or 8 years now and they are the best I've ever hit. They are economical and they have a perfect, classic design. Standing over the ball they look very solid

I have owned a set of 845s going on 7 years now. I have demo'd several different brands and styles, but the purity of these clubs keeps me with them. A classic look, solid, yet forgiving. Why pay into the thousands of dollars, when you can get an excellent set of irons for under $300? I wouldn't trade mine.

I have never been a long hitter, but with these irons I am able to hit the ball straighter and farther then with any other irons. They are the most forgiving irons I have played with.

Loved these irons. Sweetest feel in a set of irons I ever had. Got them in a trade for a set of Wilson 1200LT that some guy (fool!) wanted. No comparison. Longer, straighter, more consistent by far. I like the BeCu PingEye2s a bit better, but would have no problems going back to these. Ping and Armour have the same problem--their best clubs came out of the late 80s and they are still about the best on the market, but like other manufacturers, they are caught up in the ""gotta have something NEW"" mentality to try to pump sales.

I have been playing 845s for ten years now. About two years ago, I noticed I was getting a little arthritic in my elbows and the shock from hitting crisp iron shots was starting to bother me. I discussed this with a friend and he suggested I go to regular shafts from the stiff. I certainly did not want to change clubs as I love the 845s. Well, found a set of new 845s with regular shafts for less than $300 and love them. Now, no more elbow pain when I hit those crisp long irons!

Got these at Sports Authority with free shipping and a $10 off online coupon. From my research these seem to be the best value out there. I am a rank beginner and think that these probably aren''t the best clubs for beginners but that they will make an excellent club to grow into. Good hits make an awesome tick sound and the ball takes off. Bad hits and you feel it. It''s frustrating learning but now I won''t have to buy new clubs for a long long time
