This is update from previous review. In short, I'm very sorry that I was not doing a proper study on selecting club. I would not go back to cast any more. I'll be called the Forged Mann from now on. Apex Edge, on the first round at my home course, I played 12. The best I played was 16-18. I could not belive myself. Unbelivable!!! Feel was also absolutely great. On the course, when I hit the club, I could feel immediately from my hand that it was solid and all I've to do is watch the ball fly near to the pin. Very easy, very forgiving. I did say that it was slightly less forgiving on driving range but after 6-8 games, I would say it is more forgiving on the course. I did hit well with my Talyor made 360 bubble shaft on the first day but the more I hit the club it has given me confidence. Long irons was easy to hit, well balanced. Mid iron are club length longer and more accurate compare to my previous club. Short irons are easy to handle and very forgiving. It is even very easy to hit sand wedge and make the flop shots to the green which you don't want the ball to run. After two more game, I ordered gap wedge(50') which was missing from my set. In simple word, club is beautiful, feel is absolutely great, very well made and most of all it has given me another dimension to my golf game. I'm enjoying more and could correct my swing more. I would highly recommend any level of handicappers. One thing, I'll recommend is to get cover for this soft iron heads. (But not to the beginners, the head is too soft) One more thing, since the new iron has demanded me to surf the web for reviews, I got into component sites and my next iron set will be most likely Logic Tradition M-05 or its upper series. (Yes, it is forged, cavity back design. Check it out!) Cheers

Clubs are great! I opted to get all of the wedges, and I would recommend same to anyone. Absolutely the easiest to aim and straightest hitting clubs I've ever had. Distance control is very consistent. When hit on the sweet spot the feeling is superb and the sound is crisp. Very forgiving if hit toward the hosel (full distance, lower flight), less so if hit toward the toe (significant distance loss). Distance of short-mid irons about same as my old clubs (Bob Toski SE-222 cast); long irons a bit longer but the control is significantly better. Pitches and chips with ALL of the wedges is outstanding with superb accuracy and excellent distance control. Trajectory (high/low) is very good and can be easily controlled. The workmanship and finish of the clubs is excellent, however I was a little disappointed with the rubber grips (rubber standard accoring to the card that came with the clubs). Would recommend to golfers of any ability.

I was using the Mizuno Sure ions for about a year and was VERY impressed with them. One day I decided to go to my local Pro Shop and try the latest they had to offer.I demoed the Cleveland TA-5,TA-7 (nice clubs),Cobra SS OS,Ping i3 OS,Callaway X-14,Great Big Bertha 2's ect. Each time I demoed I tried 3 clubs at a time to get a better feel for them.I went back to the store 3 times and each time the Apex Edge easily out performed its competition.I had no intention of buying the Apex Edge because they were out of my price range. But now that the new CFT's are out,the Apex Edge are cheaper than than the competition. They are super forgiving and 1 club longer than my previous irons. The feel is like butter when struck pure yet not at all harsh when not struck pure. You get instant feedback with ever shot and the looks of them are outstanding.I HIGHY recommend these irons to anyoe looking for the best of both worls in a game improvement iron.

I'm breaking 90s into 80s player. Tried/demo X14, X16, T822OS, Pingi3+ as these were most popular in Southeast Asia and finally went to Golf retail shop to get good discount price on X16. But while waiting, I show this club and hit few shots(quite similar to previous reviewer) and I was stunned at its feel immediately. To make sure, I then tried all above on driving range once again including Edge and decide my mind to buy this club. This club feel is absolutely great!!! No wonder once you use 'forge' club you could not go back to cast. It is slightly less forgiving compare to cast and mis-shots from my experince at driving range was within 5-10 yard range of above cast irons but once again, 'feel' is really gooood. You could know you have swing correctly without watching the ball 'cause the hand tells you. On cast irons, you are not sure whether you have hit correctly because the feel is almost same. You have to watch the ball land to make sure. Long irons tends to draw a bit for me but short (from 6 onwards)are more accurate and long. I'll try out next few month and update my review once again.

After trying many, many clubs and finally narrowing down to the Cleavland TA7's and the new Taylor Made RAC, I went to a local shop to hit a few balls and decide on one of the two mentioned. After a few strikes with each brand, while the sales person went off to get another flex, I found a Hogan Apex Edge nearby. From the first swing, I was stunned. The feel was pleasantly unfamiliar....the feel as I found out, was the forged club. After a few more swings, I was so convinced I went on Ebay and bought these the next day! I have only hit these on the range so far (it has been in the 20's and 30's around here) but I was once again amazed at the feel, accuracy and distance (even in cold weather) of these clubs. I chose these also because they will provide me with room to grow as a player. They are not all "error" correcting but they give some relief for the average ball striker. A scratch player friend hit a few and says they are nice, he was able to hit long straight as well as worked the ball anywhere he wanted. I am still tickled at my performance on the range 4 days ago.

Like many other golfers who are passionate about the game I did a lot of research and demo'd a lot of clubs before deciding. I wanted to buy these last fall but the price was too high($600). I tries many other clubs but kept coming back to the Hogans. It's a beautiful experience playing or practicing with these well made sticks. They've given me more confidence at address and ball flight is awesome. I almost purchsed the Armour 845Stripe, but side by side comparison and demo prove the Hogan Apex a better club for me. Folks who don't like them need not apologize-they're not for everyone. For me it was hard to find a better club, especially at the price I paid.

These clubs are great! They are extremely accurate both in distance and direction. When you hit them on the sweet spot there is no better feeling. It makes you want to shout 'Hot Damn.' It has taken a little time to adjust my swing to bring my distance back, but I think when all is said and done, I will have picked up about 10 extra yards. I bought the wedges, and there is nothing like the feel of a forged wedge for 'touch' around the green.

These clubs are amaizing!! I shoot high 90's low 100's and need a more forgiving iron. I used to play the Cobra CXI Irons which are very good. But then a friend of mine bought these and I gave them a try. The distance was much like the CXI's but the accuracy was 10x better. I was hitting everything long and straight. And even mis-hits were straight and had decent distance. I quickly went out and bought these on the internet. I have to say that Hogan did an amaizing job with these, these are the first irons they have made that have great feel, yet still are very forgiving and give less skilled golfers a chance to play some great irons. I highly recomend these to Scratch golfers to First Year players. GO OUT AND BUY THESE!!

The price by the way is in British pounds. This is my first "real" set. First set were ladies blades from the Scottish sixties (Ron McCloud & David Low), the next set were made up of different demo clubs. These Apex Edges (3-E and SW) are GREAT, in looks and in performance. My handicap has gone down from the high 30's to the high 20's. Don't get stiff shafts because your former clubs had stiff shafts, try the regular (#3) Hogan shafts first. Also try out the "special wedges", before buying the Apex Edge "fairway-, sand-, and lob wedge. Hogan is not cheap but outperform any Callaway, Titleist, Mizuno, etc. No wonder that more and more pro's are changing over to Ben Hogan!
