STILL A GREAT SET OF IRONS. WHY MORE COMPANIES DONT MAKE IRONS WITH MINIMAL OFFSET IS BEYOND ME. THE LOOK OF THESE IS INSPIRING, I REALLY LIKE THE POLISHED STEEL. EASY TO HIT WITH GOOD DISTANCE CONTROL. SPIN IS AWESOME. I BACK MORE BALLS UP THAN WITH PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING ELSE I'VE TRIED. MINE HAVE THE REGULAR RIFLE SHAFTS WHICH ARE EXCELLENT. TOUCH AROUND THE GREENS IS THE ONLY AREA I OCCAISIONALLY STRUGGLE, BUT PRACTICE ALOOWS ME TO DEVELOP DECENT FEEL COUPLED WITH THE SPIN FOR GOOD ROUNDS. BESIDES, I MISS FEWER GREEENS WITH THESE SO CHIPPING IS LESS OF A PROBLEM.

I have been a ping isi player for the past 6 years but with my handicap stalemated at 10 for 2 years, I convinced my wife, that I needed new irons. I had an aversion to Callway because everyone and his mother who has too much money over here has Callaway in their bags. But then, Callaway preowned was the only place I could find anywhere in the world, that would let my get irons exactly to my specs and for a resonable price, so I decided to go for it ans swallow my price. Also this site helped make the choice, with a lot of helpfull insights from all of you. I had been playing stiff steel rifle shafts with my Pings and my distance was not what I felt it could be. I'm 46 so I thought I would give stiff graphite a try. I have only been playing for about 3 weeks with these clubs, so I will try not to overdo it. My distances have increased by an average of 10-12 yrds per iron. I cannot see any negative lack of feedback whatsoever, even with the graphite. I know if I hit it thin, fat, toe it or shank it, although I must say that little of the above has taken place. I have had to adapt my swing to the lighter irons, but that has been only positive. I am less temped to overdoe it. The x14 pro allows for adequate working of the ball from left to right. It will slice like any other club if you hit it bad enough, but I have found this set to be very forgiving. I was used to forgivenss with the ping isi's but this was pure mercy in comparison. Distance control I find very good. Shots outside of the softspot are not penalized dramatically, as with the Pings. Since playing with these clubs and not really changing any other part of my game, I have played the best rounds of my life and all of them in a row and only with these clubs. I played 1 over par on a tough course for the first time, with these irons letting me hit 12 out of 18 GIR. I will be posting further comments after about 3 months of play. I would highly recommend these clubs for any level of golfer.

The X-14 Pro set is totally awsome. I broke 90 2x with my old Cobra SS Irons which hurt me to I traded them in. I hit them well as they are forgiving and great irons to get to the 90s (which is what I needed - brought me from 110+ to 90s) but thought they were not as long as they should be. I went to Roger Dunn's and hit every Callaway they had, X-16s, pros, Big Berthas, X-14s, some Taylors, and last I picked up the X-14 Pro 3 iron. It just hit so smooth I couldn't believe it. Not as much offset as the 14s, and 16s, and I no longer need the offset. Go on the course the first time, and each club is 15 yards longer and straight. I was 150 with a 6, now am a 165 with a 6. 3 Iron hits sweet. Short Iron approached accurate. I state I am a 90s player (I periodically have some trouble with the driver), but with these should be immediately 80s. Great clubs!

Customer Service

Used Callaway pre owned to add the 60 LW, 54 SW, and 2 iron. They were great to work with on the phone. The clubs come re-gripped with the Callaway grip, sand blasted clean. Fantastic to have what I now feel is a complete set of Irons I think I will keep forever.

I played the X-14 non-pro series for a number of years. I liked them but the offset drove me crazy. I tried some titleist 762b irons to get away from the offset. Iliked them but they weren't very forgiving. I recently traded my original X-14s in for the pro series. Now I feel I've got the clubs I need. They are very solid and I feel I am hitting more greens with them. When I look down at the clubhead while addressing the ball I get a sense of confidence knowing I will hit a solid shot.

Model Reviewed: Callaway X-14 Pro Series Pro Stiff Graphite

These clubs have the Pro Series extra stiff graphite and I wanted a graphite shaft in order to lessen the impact stress. Well, these clubs play like blades but are more forgiving. I will say it seems I'll have to apply a bunch of lead tape to increase the swingweight which I find a touch light. Forgiving blade type irons, hard to beat.

I have played many sets of irons the past few years. After taking a chance with these I can honestly tell you I have no regrets. Got them with the M90i Tour Stiff graphite shaft. With these you just let the club do all the work. I tried the X-16's but like these better.

this club surpasses any expectations i had. it really is good. the most satisfying part is the shape of the ball flight, its a gradual rise with a slight fade and looks brilliant. and the ball control is fantastic. i could advise this this club for anyone that has a consistant swing with a mid to low handicap. i cant say anything wrong about this club.i paid £220 for them.

These clubs are great. I've been playing them for the past 2 years, and I have had my ups and downs with them. A handful of scores in the 100's, a bunch of scores in the 90's, a handful in the 80's, and one beautiful 77. It's the first time I shot in the 70's with these clubs. My last 70's round was a 79 with the X-12 Pro Series. It took me a while to finally beat my lowest round, but it was worth the wait. Especially with these irons. At first I regretted getting rid of my X-12PS for the X-14PS because I couldn't hit the ball as long or as accurate. But with time, the accuracy I acquired from the X-14PS more than makes up for the distance and accuracy of the X-12PS. The only problem I have with this set is the long irons (3,4,5). The 3 and 4 are just naturally tough clubs to hit for a mid to high handicapper. My 5 iron is ok, but I have a tendency to pull-hook it sometimes. Which annoys me cause I am a natural fader. My solution: Added X-12 Pro Series 3,4,5 irons to my bag. Bigger head and a little more offset. Hope it helps. All in all, I am pretty satisfied with my X-14PS, although I like to change clubs every few years, I think I will hang on to these.

After 12 years with a set of Dunlops I finally bought a decent set. I didn't want to purchase irons with the off-set since my Dunlops did not have them. I heard a lot about the Callaway brand and decided to demo them. These clubs are $1000.00 clubs, but with the X-16's out, the prices have dropped significantly. I liked the look at address. I felt confident over the club. I also wanted a set I could grow into and the limited off-set was a plus. I bought them in April and have been very happy with them all summer. My ball striking has improved and I do get added distance on all of my clubs. My game is improving and I owe alot of it to these clubs. I should break 100 before the season is over. I should have these in my bag for another 10 years.

Customer Service

I have not had to use their customer service yet, but I have used their web site to purchase used Callaway wedges. I have been very happy with that service.
