I'm fourteen years old and I've used these irons for about two years. They are decent clubs. They are very forgiving and are shiny looking... but they don't provide the most workability and trajectory control... all i can hit are high hooks... high hooks... and more high hooks. The feel is decent on solid hits but the look is too chunky for me... i feel like i can't hit it off of tight lies and can't take big divots...but for the most part, if you're looking for just forgiviness these are great... but don't expect much more than that... Customer Service decent...i needed them 2 degrees flat... and it took an extra two weeks to order... the wait was annoying |

Callaway X-14 Steel Shaft
Excellent club for people who lack confidence in their iron play. I purchased set with their constant weight steel shaft and it is too whippy for my game. The X-14 head is designed to get the ball up and if you tend to slice or push take a look at it. If you are a good ball striker with a fast swing speed, like me avoid this club with the stock steel shaft. I made the mistake of purchasing these clubs after a fitting session...in short these clubs went long and left due to the amount of offset and shaft flex. I traded them in for ping blades and hit more greens in one round than I did with the X-14's in 4. Great for high handicappers or people who are erratic ball strikers. Callaway Steelhead X-14
I have played these irons now for an entire season, which consists of golfing at least 9 holes per day(I work at a golf course). I won these clubs in a contest and fell in love with them, but now I am noticing some things I do not like. The major problem I am having is hitting them out of the rough. Where I play the rough is now being cut at 4.5 inches and it is very thick, and the size of the clubs makes it next to impossible to hit out of clean. The other problem is, it is almost im possible for me to hit a cut with anything over a 5 iron. The amount of offset truly hurts its playability. I really like the feel of these irons and how forgiving they are, they are one of the best cavity backs on the market. Customer Service excellent Similar Products Used: I have hit almost every new iron on the market, including Taylor Made''s, Mizuno''s, Titleist''s, Ping''s other Callaway''s, Orlimar''s, and Pure Spin''s. |

The x-14''s are my first set of non-knock off''s and ohh what a difference. I am a high handicapper with very high swing speed and very low accuracy. These clubs with the uniflex steel shaft really straighted me out. Honestly took 8-10 strokes of my game the first week I used them |

I have been playing golf for 5 years now, I just bought this set and fall in love with them ..they are extremely easy to hit… however, in the wind condition I found out that it’s hard to keep the ball flight low. Keep in mind that if you want to control the ball you gotta go with forged iron. They are hard to hit especially long iron. On mis-hit shot , you’ll loss a great deal of distance with long irons. I think x14 is good fro mid handicapper and higher .. my theory for golf is that the game is hard already why bother to make it harder by using pro equipments. I was a little disappointed by the X-14''s. They''re very forgiving and hit the ball very high and straight. The painted lines on the clubface are great and make setup a snap. I was able to hit controlled draw/hooks with no problem, but could not fade the ball with any real control. This was a problem because I often play on a couple of courses that have several sharp dogleg right par 4''s. Center hits are solid but muted and off-center hits produce a harsh unpleasent vibration. There are better irons available for hundreds less. My Ping ISI''s are a half to a full club longer and have much better feel and feedback. Customer Service Never used. Callaway Steelhead X-14
I have read this review site for a few years now and gotten excellent info and results. But I''ve never bothered to post a review until my second day at the range with my Steelhead X-14''s. I''d come this far with Tommy Armour 845 Silver Scotts which were great but had too stiff a shaft for my not so great swing speed. I traded those for TA-5 Gunmetals with Reg Steel Sensicore shafts but found the shaft to be far to whippy at the end for me and although the results were good, I didnt enjoy hitting it. Also got bad results using the PW for short game. I went back in to Golf Trader in Bedford and talked to a great dude, steve,--gives good value for trade-in golf clubs--about changing shaft set-up but he suggested i try a set of used X-14''s first. They were awesome at the range and better for me than a 981 DCI 5 iron i hit while there which seemed more difficult. I bought a new set of Callaways right then and they have been the best irons for me thus far. They are straight, high, forgiving, and much farther than I expected I''d be hitting irons this early on. Added 10 yards on average. Feel is just what i wanted. Good feedback without sting. They look like they''re going to hold up aesthetically very well to abuse. They were more than I wanted to spend but I can''t picture getting rid of these for decades. Customer Service No dealings. Hear good things though. I am a mid-handicap player, struggling for consistency with my irons. Was using Mizuno Sure (2yrs), but didn''t seem that forgiving for me. Tried lots of clubs and the x-14 with uniflex steel was the best for me. The shaft is pretty stiff, so be careful if you swing slow. The clubs seem pretty heavy when swung, which I things aids consistency. They definitely are very forgiving on off centre hits, also I have found them pretty difficult to hit fat (always been a problem for me, even on days when I''m really hitting it well). Plenty of people in these reviews say they want to shape shots. I agree that these irons tend to hit it straight where you swing, but honestly isn''t this what everyone who shoots in the 80''s and 90''s really needs? The ball does go high, but the flight seems penetrating - it was a worry with the wind we often play in - but no problems so far. Again for most of us a club that consistenly gets the ball in the air will lower our scores. The X-14 is at least as forgiving as any other iron I tried. The new Bertha irons I simply couldn''t get on with - they look terrible to me, and even when I flushed it didn''t seem to go very far. The Wilson Deep Red FS are definitely worth a look, it was a close call. The new Cobra OS irons are surprisingly good, and very good value.
