These irons took lowered my handicap by 10 in 6 months, and are targeted to mid-high handicappers. To get to the next level, I am switching to a cavity back forged iron such as the TM 300. I found the forged to have a better feel to them. Also, I do not need the higher offset as much.

I just switched from Ping Zing 2. The Zings were good irons but I was not consistent with the long irons. The X14s are a great long iron club. I now hit my 3 iron straight and long. The X14 short irons, 9 PW, are not as consistent as the pings were. I shoot around 80 most of the time and considered my greatest strength was the ability to stick the pin from 100yds (with the pings). I have lost that ability with the X14s but it could be that I''m not used to the clubs yet and will have to learn how to work them. If I can''t get the PW to perform like my old Zing2s, I may put a Ping PW in my bag. Overall I''m happy with the X14s. The are smooth as butter, hit longer than the zing2s, and I can work the ball enough to get around small corners.

Customer Service

Great, the shop told me that if I needed to adjust the lie, Callaway would do it at no cost.

Very straight, forgiving irons. Be careful with the rifle shafts, though. My custom fitter said I needed the 6.0 shafts...but they''re a little too heavy and stiff. Great in the short irons...they''re deadly straight. In the longer irons, though, my ball flight is lower than I''d like. If I could do it over, I''d go with the Rifle 5.5...or maybe even the new Rifle tour flighted shafts.

I have owned these clubs for the past year. Very forgiving clubs. Tends to have a high trajectory, but still gets plenty of distance. Definately get the rifle shafts. The stock ones are horrible compared to the rifle. Pros-Forgivness, Distance Cons-Stock Steel Shaft, Lack of Feel If you have the money and are just starting out or are a high handicapper, these clubs are perfect. But if you want a club with feel and workability, might want to try the x-14 pro.

I''ve had these clubs for a year and a half now. These are nice clubs for mid/high handicaps. Positives: forgiveness, hits straight/slight draw Negatives: clubheads are a bit too light , little/no feel You can''t go wrong with these clubs, except maybe the price. I''ve lowered my handicap about 9 strokes since I''ve had them, but I''m starting to consider replacing them with clubs with more feel as I improve.

Customer Service

Great customer service. Had my clubs replaced right away when they broke.

Got the x-14''s after playing cobra for years. My first impression was WOW! These clubs felt great, easy to swing, and the most forgiving I have ever hit. After some time though I began to fight an increasing draw to hook and became tired of feeling like I was striking the ball well everytime out (even though I wasnt,These clubs make so-so shots feel like good shots). I have hit the x-14 pro series iron and the less offset helps control that draw/hook and the stiffer rifle shaft has helped the accuracy issue. These are nice clubs, distance is good, are very forgiving, but for me accuracy and feel were lost.

I must say that I have tried many different clubs in the last year and none have given me the satisfaction that the Callaway X-14 have. The distance is there and needless to say these are generious irons. However they do lack feel. All shots tend to feel the same whether they are good or bad. For the price paid and the results seen they are well worth it. I have seen my accuracy into the greens increase as well as the desired bal flight

Just got them and took them to the range....I used to have X-12 and these are very similar but even better. Clubhead is not as large but just as forgiving...maybe more. Hits are high and long as usual with Callaway. Feel is even better than X-12s....you can tell when you hit it flush. Most forgiving irons I''''ve ever hit. These may win over more "players" as knockdowns, etc are possible. No miracle shots for pure shotmakers but better than previous Callaway irons. For me, all I want is straight! I''''m done searching. PS, I tried some Callaway clones: Turbo Power Xl-4, ball flight very low and one club shorter. Felt nothing like Callaway. Acer XDS, slightly heavier feel but very respectable results and comparable feel, esp for $90 - $140 for a set.

Customer Service

Excellent! Very friendly.

My prior clubs (King Cobra then 981) were both offset. My normal swing produces a slight fade with short and mid irons and a slight draw with long irons as I flatten my swing. The X14''s produce the same ball flight but the trajectory is higher. For me, distance is about the same. I read reviews and can''t understand how someone is getting 15 yds more than an identical loft, quality, cavity backed iron. A well struck ball flies high and lands very softly with excellent backspin and control. You can hit and stay on many greens with these irons. They are easy to swing, even the long irons. The club does not have as much feedback on off center shots and doesn''t twist as much on toe shots. Maybe this is the price you pay for a very forgiving club. Pure struck balls explode off the face, feel like butter. On windy days I may need to flatten my swing or use a punch shot to keep the ball trajectory lower - not really a problem. I have a friend that plays forged irons because of tradition, looks, feel, etc. When he hits a pure shot it is a beautiful thing, when he hits a nice draw around a tree it too is beautiful. But... most of the time he is hitting heroic shots, can''t keep the ball straight, and his wedges get lots of use cuz he can''t hit greens in regulation. These x14s will stop a ball on a green accurately and don''t require me to practice continually to master them. For me, they are the right clubs.
