Model Reviewed: Callaway X-14 regular graphite, 1" long

I decided to indulge myself with some top quality irons. Tried everything and wound up with these because they worked really well right from the first shot. They don't hit a lot longer than my old set, but they're straighter and more accurate, and feel better. They also seem to be more forgiving. Got the graphite shafts to keep the swingweight down in the 1" overlength I wanted. I use Avon Jumbo Chamois grips with an extra wrap of tape.

A bit pricey, but I retired recently and decided to treat myself to something really good for a change. Money well spent in my opinion.

I am sold!! Did not want to believe the hype or shell out the bucks. But after hitting a lot of clubs, Ping i3, Mizuno Comp EZ, Dynacraft Copperheads, Armour 845's, Air bears I broke down, and shamefully wrote the check! These things are for real! Super easy to swing, they inspire a lot of confidence over the ball and encourage a smooth easy swing. The true temper shafts are fine, but would prefer Rifles, and plan to re-shaft next year. Easliy a club and half longer than my super steels, better feel and better trajectories. The only thing I did not like was the grips, which I replaced with tan winns all weathers. If your looking for new sticks, swallow your pride, and shell out the jack for these things. Golf is supposed to be fun, with these irons you'll hit more greens and fairways, bank on it. Five stars overall, 4 stars for value (price, price, price)

Have had the X 14s for almost a month and they are fantastic clubs. Shots on the sweet spot produce great results while mis-hits lose only 10 yards or so but basically stay on line. Great height and distance from the short irons. If you have a hard time hitting the clubs you have now, give these a try. Easy to swing and easy on the mind.

Very nice club for the intermediate golfer. They are easy to hit and are forgiving of miss hits. I see no difference in distance when I compare them with the Ping Eye 2's I used to own. I have had mine one month and would recommend them to anyone.

Customer Service

I ordered the clubs with custom grips and extra tape as advised by my club fitter. They came just as ordered and the lie checked perfectly as ordered.

I just purchased these irons the other day.I have read so much about them and i just thought i might give them a try. So I did and I loved them. They are so more forgiving then my old irons, and they hit so smoothly you cant even feel yourself hitting the ball. If you are looking for some clubs that are great and hit nicely, then try the Callaway
X-14's. Just give them a try and you wont want to give them up.

I am a 5 hdcp and after 10 years of playing PIng Eye 2 I decided to switch to Callway. The Jury is still out.
I had the Rifle shaft put in them and I feel is a great shaft for all levels of player. Great feel! But the thing I struggle with is the Callaways are long...REAL LONG. I hit them 10-15 yards farther. I have now questioning what I should hit from each yardage. The forgivness is good and toe or heel shots stay straight. I find that around the green the wedge is not a good club. The ball seems to jump off the club. So I am using my old Ping wedge around the green. I recommend these clubs but I also would suggest the Pings or Cleveland Gun Metals.

Customer Service

Callaway is AWESOME! I had a issue with my wedge and they sent me a new one in 5 days. Great Service.

Bar none. The best set of irons i have ever onw. We are talking about Taylor Made LCS, Ping Eyes 2, and etc. I was playing the Great Big Bertha before going to these. Even with the smaller head in comparion to my GBB, the were just as forgiving. I am about a club longer with these too. Great from the roug

Model Reviewed: Callaway x-14 (Knock-Off)

This is my 5th year playing golf, i am 22. Last year I got a set of Taylor Made irons(used) they cost me a fair bit, but I thought TM was the way to go. The first few rounds I went out they gave good spin but i took a huge loss in distance 15-20 yards a club. I thought It was my swing, then I demoed a set of x-14's. WoW thats all I can say I was hitting 2 full clubs longer than my TM's I really wanted to get a set of these but i didnt have the cash ($800+) to get a set so I looked into knock-off's they look exactly the same as the x-14's and hit just as good. I got the clubs with stiff graphite shafts 1/2 inch longer than standard. I have never had so much confidence in my irons i can get my 8 155-160 yards and I have actually had backspin on the ball once or twice this year(very Rare for me). Golf has never been so much fun. I would really recomend the Callaway x-14's to anyone wanting a huge boost in there iron games. But if you cant afford the price, look into Knock-offs they are "Almost" as good and about 1/3 of the price.
