My son and I have been playing about 11 months. REcently we rented clubs while on vacation (we were given Callway steelheads, which already use at home, and x-12 irons). Well, rookies or not, we both saw an amazing difference with these irons. Got home and ordered two sets, with steel shafts, per Callaway's recommendation based on my feedback about our games, etc., RH for me and LH for my son- hard to come by..)

I am not a great low iron hitter, but from 6- wedges, I have been doing amazingly well- so forgiving, great feeling upon contact, and reliable and consistent distances. I would highly recommend these clubs to anyone.

Customer Service

Callawy is famous for their customer servivce and I found that to be the case upon direct ordering from the factory- great help and advice-- they talked me out of the Hawkeye titanium irons, and also the graphite shafts suggesting that at this point in our development, this was the best choice.

Great irons. very forgiving. More appealing to the eye than the x-12s. Priced too high.

I hit these pretty long but found it difficult to hit them straight - liked the overall look and feel of them though and I would recommend them to handicappers of high single figures/low teens.

Tried the callaway x-14 with uniflex shaft, didn't like feel but very forgiving, especially the long irons. Tried out the x-14 with s300 shaft w/ sensicore, what a difference, these shafts made this set so much better. I end up buying a set with sensicores. very pleased.

Forgiving & well-made clubs, but not much difference from the X-12s. The short iron feel is a bit numb & dull when comparing to I3, Comp-EZ or even Firesoles. Suitable for high to mid handicappers. Low handicappers may find these irons a bit on the dull side.

I recently purchased a set of x-12 (firm flex). I was hitting Ping Eye 2. My handicap was about an 18. After a month of having these clubs, my current handicap is a 16.2 just after a month. go figure these clubs are great. I have had my best round of nine holes 3x. I expect my handicap to be at a 12 by the end of summer.

Yesterday I bought a set of Callaway X-14 steel shaft irons. THEY HIT THE BALL LIKE NO OTHER CLUB! They hit straight, get good height on the ball, and get great distance! Just amazing clubs!

These irons are great. The address looks great, they are very forgiving and they fly straight and long. I could never control my long irons with my old irons but I am hitting the X 14's very well. I find my miss-hits are much more playable than before. The wedges give good backspin. I am just learning how to draw and fade, but its working with these sticks. For a high handicapper like my self that wants to improve you're game, they are a real dream to play. I Don't regret spending the dough at all.

Have been hitting Ping Eye 2's for past 10 years and was looking for something new. Took the X12 and X14's to the range along with my Pings. I hit the Callaway irons really well but, after spending about 2 hours hitting and comparing 4 and 7 irons from all 3 sets I can't say I hit the Callaway's any sweeter than my Ping's. I also played 2 rounds with the X14's with steel shaft and still didn't hit any better than my Ping's. So, why spend the bucks?

First time i took the clubs on to the course i found the long irons to be very easy to get airbourn and good for distance but the short irons a bit inconsistant . after a few rounds and a bit of pracice i now find my self playing 74-80 most rounds.in our regular 4 ball i was the 1st to purchace the x14s and after seeing the results the other 3 have seen the light and jumped aboard the callaway train.
