bought these clubs at the start of the season, the combo set. and it feels great being able to hit a consistent 3 or 4 iron.. great clubs for the price paid. even on mis-hits the gelback absorbs the vibrations amazingly.

I went out on a whim one day after reading some reviews and purchased these clubs brand new for only $400 (3-PW). Before I bought these, I played with a used set of Ping Zing 2's (black dot), and they were alright for a while, but I found that the sole of the club was far too big and was causing me problems on the hard ground on some of my local courses. These clubs (the clevelands) are amazing, it feels so sweet when you make crisp contact. I've been hitting the ball straighter ever since I purchased them. Also, I've had far fewer miss-hits [fat and thin shots]. the best thing is that I slowed my swing down because they came with regular flex shafts, and I still hit the ball farther than I did with the Pings. However, with the technological advances, that is kind of comparing apples to oranges. The bottom line is these clubs are great; they are workable (fade, draw, or just hit it sraight), they are nice looking, and they are now a lot cheaper since the newer ones have come out. Buy these clubs or the newer ones [the newer ones come with a great deal (if you buy them before 12/31/09, you can trade them in when Cleveland releases the next model, and you get that set free no strings attatched!!)

I've have played with the CG Gold for 3 month now and i played with several iron sets. These are just fantastic. They are a bit hard to learn to play with but when you get used to them they are hust amazing. I went from a Hcp. 42 to 28 in just 3 weeks. If you are a hard hitter like me, they are a must.

While I know these irons will suit several players they are not for me. I purchased these 1 month ago and played 4 rounds along with going to the driving range several times. I bought them cause they feel so good when you pure the shot, even miss hits don't feel to bad. The ball flies pretty high and true, so yes this iron is a quality product.
What I could not get use to was the bulkiness of the club head, the thick topline. What I really didn't care for was they are about 1 and a half clubs shorter then what i'm used to playing. So I took them back to where I bought them and purchased the Taylormade R7 tp set, these suit me much better. These are worth a try, especially for a mid to higher handicap, but I would suggest taking them to a range to see what you think. Happy club hunting.

Just purchased these clubs after waiting a year. Big sale at Golfsmith gave me motivation. I have been playing X14 Calloways for the past 5 years and liked them but wanted to try newer technology. I tried these clubs along with X20,s, Minzuno, and taylor Made. i have owned Cleveland clubs in the past and my wedges are all Cleveland. I'm not as long as I used to be but surprisingly I am more accurate and seem to be playing more rounds in the 77,78 range. I look forward to using these clubs soon, as soon as the snow stops and adding on to these comments.

I had played Cleveland TA-6's for four years and decided it was time to replace them as they were showing signs of wear. Thought I'd try a different brand. Bought the Ping G10's, and while they are a good club for a player who sweeps the ball of a lush lie, I found the wide soles caused me to chunk way too many long irons. Traded them in on Titleist AP-1's with same result, due to wide soles. Tried Mizuno MX-25's and they just seemed like boards, in spite of going to Nippon steel regular flex shafts. So, I decided to go back to Cleveland. To me, the CG Gold is very similar to the old TA-6's, except just slightly more compact. Specs. on the Golds are regular steel stock (flighted) shafts, 2 degrees up and one inch long, as I am 6'4".
For me, these have just the right blend of forgiveness and classic appearance. I have been in the 70's and a few rounds in the lo-80's with these sticks.
I hit a six iron 165 - 170 but went with the regular shafts, as my regular stiff shafts seemed too harsh - - - could have something to do with being in my early 60's, I hat to admit. These shafts and irons have just the right feel for me, and I can work the ball either way with them.
I couldn't be more pleased by having gone back to the Cleveland camp.

I have had these irons for just a few weeks. I, stupid as I am, bought these because they looked great and I read some pretty nice things about these irons. But not for me, unfortunately.
They don't give me the right feedback, don't give me the right feeling, don't give me the right noise, etc.
I went back to my "old" R7 XD's and things were going super again....

Up until recently, I was a die-hard Adams man. Then I tried the CG Golds and was sold. I Love the feedback this sticks give you and they have improved my game as they are less forgiving than the A3Os set I used to play. That sounds strange but it has forced me to really try and fix flaws in my swing as opposed to letting the club compensate for my bad habits. As such my game has improved as my swing mechanics and grip have improved. Also I am getting more distance from these than the A3s, probably because they are lighter and in typical Cleveland fashion, the feel is very buttery when you hit it just right! I'm not good enough where I need to work the ball but these are workable to a degree (so I am told). To be sure, I hit several irons before purchase: Callaway,Cobra,Nike,Ping,Mizuno,Cleveland, I kept coming back to the CG Golds and that secured my decision. I was so pleased that after my first round with them I called the shop where I bought them to tell them how happy I was with them
