I am by no means an accomplished Golfer, but the CG Gold Irons make it easy to forget that fact. They are an amazing and well made set of clubs. The first day I played with these Irons I shot my best score ever. In fact I shot a 42 on the front 9, parring 4 holes and bogeying 5. I fell apart on the back 9 but blame that more on fatigue and lack of experience than the clubs. Would recommend these to any mid to high handicap golfer looking for a great set of irons.

Have just bought these irons and am amazed at the difference they have made to my consistency and distance control. I ended up purchasing them after i had a custom fit at a Taylor Made approved fitting center. I would advise anyone who is struggling with their irons to consider a custom fit as it really can make a difference.

after 4 hours in the launch monitor room decided on these over callaway x tour, mizuno mp60 and cobras..i was using forgedcavitys, bridgestone, but these are 2 degree upright and they hit great..they were heavy and clunky but i adjsted fine..im 5 to 10 yards loger with each iron and love the controlled draw these irons produce..the fade never goes too far right..just like it should be..very easy to work with a good smooth swing..also got hibore driver and 3wd..the cg 14 wedge with a prov1 is awesome..its like adding a set of brakes and they slide under the ball awesome..i shot 69 on a 7300 yd course 4th trip..great club for all skills...the best thing you can do for your game is get fit for your clubs..made be a believer..

Like one of the previous reviewers I have played the TA5s for years and felt it was time to upgrade. I used the CGGolds for 2 weeks and just couldn't get used to them. They felt heavier and less forgiving them my 5 year old irons. I have traded them back in for the Ping G10 irons. We will see how they work out.

Have played Cleveland TA 5's for about 5 years now and really like them, so I opted to spend the extra cash and get a set of the 'new' CG Gold's. What a mistake, heavy-headed, 'clunky' poor feeling, you name it, these have it. The 'clunky' review was from my instructor who thought that was how they felt to him. They feel much heavier than my TA 5's, not sure if they are, but the balance is surely way off on these irons.

A good looking iron, but saddened by Cleveland's recent venture into "gimmick" clubs, Hi-Bore, CG Gold and Red, by the way, the Hi Bore series is bound for the graveyard, and soon to be followed by these awfully designed irons.

I bought these irons today after 2 frustrating years with Nike Slingshot. I tried both Golds and the Callaway x-18. I like both irons but went with the Golds because I liked the short irons better. Needless to say I am very happy with my selection, the club has great feel and is very eye appealing on set up.
I played in 55F temp and didnt have the clubs zing my hands once. The club was easy to hit out of the deep rough, and I've got my distance back. I'm looking forward to the spring!

I am an average golfer, score-wise, but I have an above-average iron swing. I've been using a mid-level set of Dunlop irons for years and I recently decided to upgrade because of my financial situation.

I went to the pro shop wanting to try a blade, since I'd never tried one before, and see how I liked them. I loved the look of the blade at address and the feel on a nice swing. Unfortunately, all of my shots, although well-struck, had either a slight draw or fade on them indicating that my swing was off slightly. Basically, the MP-32's magnified my smallest mistakes. I decided I wasn't ready for a blade yet.

Reluctantly I put the 32's back and tried the MX-25's, which shot straighter and I noticed the difference between the blade and the cavity back immediately. I liked the MX-25's. Then the guy who was working with me mentioned the Cleveland CG Golds, so I said 'sure, why not, I like Cleveland.' The feel was beautiful and they were at a forgiveness level in between a true cavity back and a true blade/muscle back, so I figured I could use them with my current game and also improve with the clubs, which is what I was looking for.

The next couple of days I went to the range and, hitting off of grass, I mis-hit almost every ball in the 100-ball bucket. I got my swing down towards the end and the other night I went again and hit most of the bucket nicely. I don't like the feel off of grass as much as I liked it off of a mat though, so I think I will be returning them (if I can) and being more patient with my choice this time.

I'm thinking trying the MX-25s out on grass, or maybe the MP-60s. I'm partial to Mizuno, not for any specific golf reason, but their volleyball equipment is amazing haha.

I just got these clubs a few days ago and they are great. They're easy to hit and look great when you stand up to hit the ball. Im only 13 so i dont hit the ball very far but i started hitting 170 yd 5 irons so they will easily give you 10-15 more yards on carry. I would reccomend these for anyone who wants to make this game easier for theresek=lf

I'm an above average player who used to use blade style muscle backs and wanted an improvement club that wasn't TOO game improvement. The CG Golds are perfect for what I was looking for. Traditional design, with a thicker topline than a blade but not too fat as to make you feel as if the club is doing all the work. The best part I feel about them is the fact that the clubhead is very lightweight. My old clubs were heavy and I would tire by the end of the round.

I'd say these clubs (as well as the CG Reds) should be strongly considered for a player with a well established swing that's looking for a little more consistency in keeping the ball going down the middle. The offset isn't too crazy and the established golfer will be very comfortable setting these behind the ball.

Penetrating trajectory and ridiculous ball speed. Really a fun club that's very forgiving, but has the look of a better player's club.
