I have never taken the golf serious. To many other hobbies. Always bought the cheepest set of clubs or used old clubs given to me. I decidied I would give up some of my other hobbies and play golf more. I traded in a very old set of Dunlops, figuring I would buy an inexpensive set of Irons (name brand) and "learn" how to play. Bought these on Thursday for a smile and played on Saturday. I didn't even go to the range first as time would not allow. It took some practice swings (front 9). I did poorly on the front 9 and was kind of disappointed in myself at the turn. Then I got a lil feel for these I shot 11 over on the back 9 which for me is AWESOME!!! I LOVE these clubs very forgiving, good feed back. If you miss with these clubs you are in big trouble!! Awesome clubs for the price. Cobra Golf

I've been playing with these irons now for about 6 years. I bought them as a closeout from an online discount golf store. I played hardcore forged blades my whole life. What a difference these Cobra's made to the enjoyment of the game. I have S300 shafts in them and just regripped with Winn DSI grips. I amaze people at the height and distance I get with these sticks. I love looking at new clubs, but have no reason to stop playing with these. I purchased for around $250.00, but would not sell them for that. I couldn't replace them for twice the price. I never see anyone else playing these clubs, and I like the fact that I'm not another Taylormade or Callaway sheep roaming the short grass. Play on!

Sobra CXI irons are very nice midsize, solid hitting accurate irons that knocked the Pings out of my bag and the new Cobra 3100's.They feel like forged and are just the right size.I have regular flex t.t.dynalite shafts and they perform very well. They are a treasure and i have tried many irons and these are in the bag to stay.I feel confident eough to buy a backup set.

I bought these back in 2000. After 2 years of playing them and just not liking how my ball flight was occuring, I traded them in. The ball flight was extremely high(I tend to be upright in my swing which produces height as it is-I'm 6-1)which tended to rob me of distance. Plus I was just not liking the feel of hits. Aesthetically, they are appealing. I also liked how they looked from top-down. However, these weren't for me.

I've read the last review, (the one right after this one) and I hope the guy understands that its not the clubs he's fighting, it's the S300 shafts he said he's got on them. All in all, these clubs with the R300 shafts are one of the best clubs not on the market today. Why Cobra stopped making them? Who knows, These keep finding a way back into my bag. Great in total forgiveness, and they have a nice, solid pop to em when you hit the sweet spot which seems to be all over the face. If your scooping these out on E-Bay or in a Rubberbandded bundel at a pro shop somewhere. Try them out, I think you'll see what I'm talking about. Bought them for under $200.00. I wouldn't sell them for under $1,000.00, thats how much I live these clubs. I'll still buy and try new Irons and equipment, lets face it, I'm a golf epuipment junkie. But for out of town glof trips, skins or tournement play, CXI is in the bag.

Customer Service

Never used Cobra's customer service before. David Fahrety is their spokesman, that should say something.

I keep putting down shooting in the 90's, but I am sneaking into the 80's easily now. A big reason for that is eliminating clubs I don't hit well. I replaced my 3 & 4 irons with 5 & 7 woods (see reviews on Nike T-40'2). Before making the final move to trade these irons for something else (at a fifth what I paid), I took the advice of the pro at the local Golftown and got fitted. I had the 5 through 9 irons reshafted with s-300 stiff (had Dynalite Reg), with 3* upright loft and an extra inch and a half long. What a difference. Before, I would be very inconsistent with fat and thin from crouching over the ball. Now I can stand much straighter and make much more consistent swings...so much so that I can actually see the results of swing changes. I was looking at the RAC LT's, and still really like them, as well as the MacGregor 1025 muscle acks. When I hit the sweet spot on the MacGregors they were beautiful...great distance and control...they are forged, however, so off sweetspot shots were not much to write home about. I am going to keep the CXI's in the bag for a while (especially now that they are more user-friendly), and improve enough to actually appreciate the benefits of a more demanding club. The great thing about the CXI'S is that thye are not over-sized irons, forcing me to control my swing, thus promoting more sweetspot strikes. The moral of this story - talk to someone who knows what they're talking about before wasting a load of money and making a choice you may seriously regret. Proof: - 5 S300 shafts, 3* upright bend, medium grips = $140 CAD - Taylor MAde RAC LT = $998 CAD You do the math!

Customer Service

Not impressive...Cobra charged $250 to reshaft 3 irons and change the loft on all 8. Golftown did more work for over $100 less.

Been hitting the CXI's for about 2 years and love them. I have gained about 10-15 yards on all the irons and almost close to 20 yards with the added 56 degree lob weg. Tried the 990's and felt that the CXI's were more forgiving and greater distance. I highly recommend them to anyone in the market for a quality iron without the pricetag of the top 4.

After two years with these irons I have decided to move on. Now that i have developed something of a decent swing I cannot stop hooking with them...the offset is just too pronounced. I am still not trying to put any movement on the ball, but now I have to fight like crazy to keep it somewhat straight. Tried the fatshaft III's yetserday...sold!

Customer Service

Had to pay a bundle to get the things reshafted by cobra this year.

I love these clubs. It came down to these and some DCI's. When I hit these when getting fitted, they just felt better than the DCI's. Not too mention about $300 cheaper. I'm suprised they discontinued these, I can't stand the other cobra's. Hope I don't lose one!

These are very nice irons. They can be bent to adjust lie angle. Had them adjusted one degree upright based on results hitting off a lie board. Hit them just 3 times as I bought them late last year. First time out, struggled a bit getting used to club and new lie. Second time a bit better. Third time and I am hitting them solid and straight. Hitting them longer than anything else I've played. Biggest improvement is that the ball is now going straight consistently with a good swing. Can't find them anymore in stores which is a shame. Wish I had a two iron for the tee, as I am drilling my three iron 200+. My woods feel all over the place since getting these irons. I can shoot a better score just using my irons now. Next purchase is going to be new woods.
