After using graphite shafts for a few years (Hogan Apex Edge) I decided to go to steel. I assembled the Tour Cavity Forged heads with the True Tempre TX90 shafts (ultra light steel). I am very pleased with the results. I experienced minimal loss of distance (about 5 yeards) this is primarily due to ball flight, which is much higher with the TX90s. The landing on the other hand is shoft! I can "stick" the ball on the greens now with anything but a low iron. The feel is great. Having minimal offset took some getting used to but now I prefer these over offet clubs. The feel consistancy and workability are great. What is stunning is the price. I paid $799 for the Hogan's with graphite shafts I made these for about $250. No comparison with respect to value! Highly recommended for all but extreme beginner levels. Customer Service I have been dealing with Golfsmith for the last couple of years and so far their customer service has been excellent. I had these clubs built with Rifle 5.0 shafts and Winn grips. The Rifle shafts were on backorder and delayed my order. I will tell you that these are very high quality golf clubs that are a pleasure to play. My scores have improved. My confidence has also improved. These clubs are more forgiving than I expected. I recommend these clubs with no reservations. Divotmasters.com are great, too. If you are a decent ball striker, Buy these clubs. |

First of all I'd like to thank all of the people who take the time to do product reviews on the different brands of golf equipment. I was searching for a new set of irons and I noticed that the only set of irons to get a 5 out of 5 rating was the Golfsmith Tour Cavity Forged. I went to the local Golfsmith store and got my swing speed tested/measured. I selected 4.5 cpm Royal Precision rifle shafts for my irons ,I also purchased snake eyes mid size grips.I had the clubs spline aligned and custom built for me.These are by far the best hitting irons that I've ever felt,I am so glad that I did the research here on golf review.com I went out and shot a 78 today.I shot a 41 on the front 9 and even had an 8 on hole number 4.On the back 9 I shot a 37.Now you can go out and spend alot more on name brand irons but I don't think you can get a better iron for yourself. After getting my irons I hit them on a strike plate/board and had the lie and loft adjusted for me.Take it from me and the others who have tested and purchased this set of irons, you can't go wrong with these. And thank you again to the 25 people before me who posted the great reviews on theses irons. Customer Service Customer service sucks,I went into the store and it was really bad. So I had my clubs put together by a master club builder at Jurupa Hills Country Club golf Course in Riverside,Ca Similar Products Used: King Cobra,Titleist 962,Taylor Made 200,RAC |

I built a set of these w/Dynalite Gold Snsicore shafts because I have a low ball flight. These irons are quite forgiving and have that "like butter" feel when hit flush. Mi$hits are easily identifiable and they let you know it. Thin top line is mych easier to align than the thick ones. Plays and looks like the Hogan Apex Plus, only more forgiving. These irons fit all levels of golf from a 30hcp right to a tour pro(Scott Verplank uses them) I have found my holy grail of iron heads and dont have any plans to try anything else....no need to. Best clubs for the money, couldn't beat them. Compared these to Taylormade, Cleveland, Ben Hogan, and Titleist irons, hit these the best. The crew at golfsmith help you with whatever you need, and really help you personalize your clubs. REALLY OUTSTANDING SET OF IRONS. I purchased a set of these irons on Ebay and got 2-PW for $135. They were only lightly used. Wonderful irons. They have a solid feel as they are forged, but are amazingly forgiving. They don't feel as solid as a forged blade on pure impact, however, the feel is good (much better than cast heads) and my pure impacts don't happen enough to play a blade. Since I started playing the black Tees I have had to approach with 2,3,4,and 5 irons alot of the time and have hit a high percentage on the green, even on mis-hits. Feedback to the hands is still good as with a blade. I highly recommend these clubs to anyone that wants the feeling of forged irons (I will never go back to cast, now) and the forgiveness of a cavity back. Lastly, the ball flight is high and the ball lands softly. This is not a boring tragectory club. Ball flight is high, but, the distance is very good. Customer Service Golfsmith has always been very helpful to me. Similar Products Used: Evo V-31, Evo V-25 Forged and misc |

I am a hcp 4 fellow hacker and got myself these clubs and made them up with Dynamic Gold S-300 and Tour Wrap grips,1"longer than standard, swingweighted them at D4. It is a great club with a lot of feel and control.Propably the best feeling club I´ve ever hit.Make sure you check lofts and lies, though. They are NOT up to specs. I had Claude May from MAY GOLFWORKS in Cape Town adjust mine and since then the clubs have performed exceptionally well with added accuracy and distance control. I highly recommend these clubs Customer Service OK Similar Products Used: PING I3,Titleist PM 731,Taylor Made, and many more |

Pro Forged/Tour Cavity
Was looking at purchasing Cleveland TA-3's. Had read great reviews about these clubs and asked the sales accociate at Golfsmith if they had any of the Pro Forged clubs available to hit for comparision. Found little difference between the two and opted to save 250 bucks and have my clubs custom built 4 weeks sooner. I couldn't have been happier with my decision. Got 2-7 in the Tour Cavity Forged and 8-PW,SW,LW in the Pro Forged blade. The blades allow me to work the ball great and the cavity backs give me the forgiveness needed in the long irons. Had Golfsmith assemble with True Temper Dynamic Gold s-300 shafts and Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips. You can't go wrong with these clubs. Customer Service Staff at Golfsmith in Kennesaw, GA very knowledgable about their products. Suggested to play about a dozen rounds before having the lie adjusted, but have decided no tuning needs to be done at this ti Similar Products Used: Titleist blades, Maxfli Revolutions |

These really are a fine set of clubs. Solid shots feel silky sweet and fly high and land soft. It is very easy to work the ball any way, even straight. Trajectory control is also excellent. Really top-notch clubs, even before you see the pricetag. And with top of the line shafts and grips, these sweeties are still cheaper than most brand name clubs. If you're looking for a set of irons that feel great, can work the ball, look good and offer a fair amount of forgiveness to boot, you owe it to yourself to try these out. A lone six iron can be bought for as much as you would spend on a 12-pack of pellets. Give 'em a try! Customer Service If you decide you need the loft or lie adjusted on your set after you purchase them, GolfSmith will do the adjustments for free up to 90 days after your date of purchase.
