First of all, I play to about a 10 handicap - hardly what most would consider "worthy" of playing a blade. I started considering going to a blade when I couldn''t really find a, so-called, "forgiving" cavity-back club with little to no offset (I don''t like the looks of an offset club when at address, and I find it difficult to hit them). The ones that I did find with no offset didn''t look like they offered too much forgiveness as the cavities were very shallow and almost non-existant (Cleveland TA-3, and the Mizuno T-ZOID ProII were the irons I most seriously considered). Then I got the wild idea to try a blade. I had never even considered it because I had always been led to believe that only GREAT players could even hit blades. So, I went to a store here in town that offers a grass driving range where you can hit clubs you are interested in. I noticed one thing fairly early. When I hit a bad shot with my "forgiving" cavity backs, the ball didn''t do what I wanted it to! When I hit a bad shot with the non-forgiving MP-33, the ball STILL didn''t do what I wanted it to! However, when I hit a ball solid, the feel was sooooo much nicer - and never mind feel, lets talk about ball flight. One word comes to mind - "piercing". Then I came to the conclusion that I don''t TRY to make bad shots. I try to make GOOD shots. So why wouldn''t I want to buy a club that yields the best results possible when I hit a GOOD shot? If I were TRYING to hit bad shots, then I guess cast cavity backs would have been my first choice. Anyway, I bought the MP-33''s, brand spankin'' new, on ebay for a very good price ($550), and shot 76 with them on my first outing. The bottom line here, these are awesome clubs. Don''t be deterred by the "you can''t hit those clubs" attitude of others. If you are in the market for new irons, and you think these might be the ones for you, hit them and make up your own mind. That is what I did and I couldn''t be more happy with my decision. I gave it a 5 in the ''value rating'' simply because you could go out and spend double the retail amount ($799) on other, inferior, irons. Customer Service Haven''t dealt with. I wanted to switch to blades to improve workability. I tested the mp-33''s, cleveland TA1, MacGregors and Hogan Apex. The mp-33''s won easily. I had heard that blades were harder to hit, but I don''t notice any difference from my previous set of Titleists. I can now work the ball more easily left and right. I do seem to lose a little distance due to the higher ball flight, but its worth it. Similar Products Used: Titleist 981 |

This is a revised review 5 months from the time i got my mp33s. reduced my swingweight from a heavy D6-8 to a manageable D1-2 by trimming off 0.75" averagely all round. irons are in great shape and quality is impeccable. not as easy as I thought it was play but they''re not as unplayable as most ppl think as the proverbial ''blades'' tried the vfoil and the ta1s, these are still more fogiving that those. would love to try the new 681 or 690mb, but it''s not in singapore yet. verdict after 5 months...good quality, but maybe i''m not up to par yet, gonna leave these soon for an easy set of cavities until i can break 90 consistently...sigh...it''ll be missed Customer Service never needed them, quality very good Similar Products Used: almost all popular brands tried, very good makes are still titleist/cleveland/miz. |

Wanted to switch to blades to improve workability. I tried Hogan, MacGregor, Nike, Cleveland and Mizuno. The Mizuno''s won easily. They are the most forgiving of all the blades, although I seem to lose a little distance with the higher ball flight. They have such a soft feel when well hit. Similar Products Used: Titleist 981 |

First of all thanks to all other reviewers - most reviews on this site are serious and make it a lot easier to narrow down your choices. I have played the MP33''s for approx. 15 rounds now and these are my impressions so far (for info the clubs are std. length and lie, fitted with DG r-flex and my hcp. is 4.5): FEEL/FEEDBACK - trademark Mizuno and simply unsurpassed - shots out of the sweetspot (which, btw, is not all that big) feel effortless and soft. DISTANCE - just right w/ superior distance control - the same contact will give the same distance every time. WORKABILITY - as good as you would expect from a blade iron, i.e. far superior to cavity backs and o/s clubheads - you get what you put in; no more, no less. FORGIVENESS - this is apparently a sensitive issue judging from the other reviews - my take is this: this is a blade iron, so expect bad shots to be bad shots - if you don''t make decent contact, you will lose length but direction will not suffer much - thin contact will feel harsh but that will make you focus more on the next shot - they are not game improvement irons in the traditional sense of the word but I agree with the other reviewers that you will (have to) swing better in order to use the strengths of this iron - whether you are a 5, 10 or 15 hcp. you need to put a decent swing on the ball with these irons. LOOKS - imho you can''t find better - thin topline and no offset is what works for me when addressing the ball. All in all a classy (but expensive) iron from Mizuno. Similar Products Used: Callaway X-12 Pro Series (not much feel and topline is too thick). Comp EZ (probably a good iron but never got used to the looks). Pro (old model - very nice & a bit more forgiving). True (nice too bu |

I got my MP-33 with Rifle Flighted 6.0 shaft and it is awsome. The club is very accurate and gives you great feedback and reward. Short on off center hits but not accuracy. I also had my loft adjusted 1 degree stronger since MP-33 is approximately 1 degree weaker compared to most other clubs, and now my distance is the same as my old set (Ping ISI). MP-33 does forces you to swing on a correct swing path. I have improved my game by an average of 5 strokes. I highly recommend MP-33 to anyone who wants to improve their game. Hey golfnads, or is it golfnerd? I really loved your evaluation of these clubs. Next time try to rate the clubs and not someones preference to use them. Some people, including myself enjoy the challenge and the purity of striking the ball well even if that means a "sweet feel" once out of every 10 shots. Of course you, being scratchy, get that feel on every shot. I bet you''re a joy to play with. lol. Anyway for all you out there who are not as good as golfnerd go ahead and play these clubs. The feedback these clubs give will encourage a better swing. When you get good with these sticks you''ll be able to hit anything. Customer Service na Similar Products Used: callaway x-14 pro series |

Let me just tell you, nothing feels quite like a mizuno forging! I am a club junkie and have played damn near ecery forged club and most cast clubs in search of the best feeling club and man, I always come back to Mizunos. I have been playing the 681s with rifle 5.5s and decided to hit a friends MP-33s. Wow, the difference in feel is amazing! Don''t get me wrong, the 681s are not bad, just not as crisp as the mizunos. I played the mp-14s for about 6 months and loved their feel, just not the size of the blade. The MP-33s are slightly larger. |

Very good club. but my suggestion to you 80''s and 90''s shooters is to not play a forged club. It will just frustrate you. It is funny to read the reviews like the last guy wrote. He probably shoots 85 and he is talking about sweet feel excetera. Well, if you shoot 85 you don''t hit that ball that straight or you have a horrible short game. So what does he know about feel. lol. Customer Service na Similar Products Used: na |
