Mizuno MP 33 Blades
As a 15 handicap that occasionally shoots in the high 70s, and who has played blades for the last 6 years, I can attest to the fact that these are, bar none, the best golf clubs ever made. You can work the ball, stop the ball, pinch it, bend it, and -- when you nail it sweet -- it feels at least as good as sex (let's be honest, if not better). I finally went from stiff to regular shafts without losing accuracy and yesterday bent/faded a 220 yard 4 iron onto a green around a clump of trees to save par. If you are going to play golf for more than another year, you need to get these sticks. Forgiving. Gorgeous. Fantastic. (I kept my Hogan Blades as I will alternate having the MP33s and the Hogan's mill boxed grooved during the winter at Maltby's and will have another set as back up for golf trips.) Any questions, email me. Customer Service Very nice. I called their custom department because I needed them for a golf trip and they accellerated the schedule. Very responsive. I used to have the Tzoid pros, which I loved, but just picked these up. Let me tell you, screw all the crap that people say that you have to be a 5 hcp or better to play these. If you play competetive golf (junior or college), that's a different story. In that case these aren't the most forgiving club, and in tournament play, you want to make your bad shots better. However, if you want feedback, and a good game improvement club, theses are the ones. I will agree with other reviews that you do have to have a pretty good grooved swing, and have to be a good ball striker. Trajectory is nice, and produces a boring ball flight, it works extremely well for me because I play a high draw. It keeps the ball down some and I get alot more spin than before I noticed. As long as you hit the ball solid you're fine, if you don't then save your money and go buy yourself some lessons, because lessons will help you more than ANY club on the market. I GUARANTEE. I keep the 5-P in my bag and some cleveland launch irons instead of longer irons. This combo works very well for me. I am done with the game improvement clubs for mid to short irons. The feel of this club is amazing. i feel like I am going for the pin every time I set up to these beauties. I really don't notice any appreciable difference in slightly off center hits on the shorter clubs. Call me nutty, but I think they are easier to hit than my old x-12's. Granted the long irons are tough for a hack like me, but I couldn't be happier with the short clubs. Don't be afraid of these clubs. I started playing blades years ago when I was a kid, then when the cavity back craze got rolling I went from one shovel to the next. Pings, X-12's, X-14's you name a shovel, I tried it. Blades were intimidating to me after years of playing clubs that would throw the ball back online after some of the most pathetic swipes at the ball. Similar Products Used: None |

Mizuno MP-33's
If you shoot under 90 pretty consistently you have to own a set of these clubs. Don't listen to some of these doom and gloomers about how you have to be a top ten tour player to have the ability to score well with blades. I have went from a 15hcp to a 10hcp in about a month since switching from Mizuno Pro's to the MP-33's. There is no offset or pie plate head size to cover up a bad swing. They force and train you to make a good swing. I have seemed to reach a platue the last couple of years. By the end of summer I'm shooting around 85. I'm below that already and it's only early July. If your looking for something to take you to the next level. Don't spend a ton of money on the latest space age driver. Spend the money on a good set of blades. Just don't tell my friends. They have just about payed for these new clubs in a month. They keep buying new drivers and shooting the same scores. These clubs renewed my passion for the game because for the first time in years I'm showing some solid improvement. If you make the plung I highly recommend getting a 2 iron to go with the set. For some reason I can finally hit the long irons. My 2 iron is deadly off the tee. I'm hitting it longer and straigther then my 3 and 5 woods. Mizuno MP33
Strength:
None
Weakness:
None I was a litle apprehensive about trying a true blade. I had played with Mizuno ProII''s for a while. Lately with Pro Series X-14''s. These are far superior to both. They provide excellent feedback and ballflight. The thin sole is easy to hit out of rough. Wonderful high ball flight with long irons. Heavy swingweight tends to slow my swing down. They have a beautiful look at address and promote a feeling of confidence. I especially like the way the ball stops where it hits. The long irons will hold the green much better than the Pro II''s. There''s nothing like the feel of a ball well hit with a forged blade. I would highly recommend these to anyone who is a 5-6 handicap or lower. Customer Service I haven''t had occasion to use the customer service dept. Similar Products Used: Mizuno Pro II, Callaway Pro Series X-14 Mizuno True |
