Mizuno MX-23 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The MX-23 is the most forgiving iron available. Mizuno engineers produced the MX-23TM to have an even lower, deeper center of gravity and larger sweet area.

I too, like the last reviewer got the shanks after I bought these clubs. I was in the process of taking lessons when I got them, so I thought it might a process of re-tuning, both with new irons and lessons. Well, after several lessons I absoultley love these irons. They feel like butter and are longer than my x-12's. I really like the look at address. I am hitting my 8 iron 140 yards and have never hit any 8 iron that far. No joke, these have the feel and the forgivness I have been looking for. Thanks Mizuno.

Well, I went through two sets of irons on my way to landing on these beauties. I have been playing 845's for the last 9 years and decided it was time to upgrade. First bought a set of MP-30's, which are sweet. Just a bit to small of a head for me. Sold them, bought some used Titleist 962's! Why? I don't know? Sold those and went back to my 845's till I hit some MX-23's. Love them, they are such a sweet, forgiving, forged iron. Very high quality irons and very playable for a mid-capper like me. Got mine custom from Mizuno off eBay for $465. Retail is $699, so don't buy them at a golf shop. Cheapest I could find was $649+ tax. Make sure you get fitted though Mizuno's are a bit shorter than avg. So if you have a decent(not great) swing, step up to these and they'll make you better.

I bought these Mizuno MX-23's with graphite shaft to replace my Hogan Apex Plus irons and have been continually amazed at how easy they are to hit, how accurate they are and how buttery soft these forged tools feel when they strike the ball. I have had them noiw for 2 months and have dropped my handicap from a 7 to a 5 ... I demo'd all other forged competitors at a large demo day ... Hogan's, Titleist, Nike, Taylor, Ping and nothing cam close. I thought I wanted a little more of a blade, but they work so well, I went for the Mizunos and have never looked back. Try these ... I guarantee you will not be disapoointed .. in fact, a friend tried mine during a round last week, loved them and went out and bought a set.

These are very high quality clubs. The second time out, I shaved 8 points off my score. I upgraded from Tommy Armour Silverscot irons.

Believe the hype! In 14 years since I started playing, I have never enjoyed striking the ball like I have with this set. Forgiving in the longer irons, precise in the lower irons, all around this set has changed my game. I shaved 8 to 9 strokes from my game and no shoot low to mid 80s. And I've only had two rounds. They give you confidence from the moment you address the ball. I have teh S300 shafts and they work perfect for my swing, which is about 95-100 mph. I hit the 5 iron to a green 185 yards away. I've never EVER done that before. If you're thinking about getting a set, there is nothing to think about. This is the set for 24 handicap to scratch golfer.

The longest irons I have played. No question about it. They also offer the sweet feel mizuno irons are known for. If you want a club meant for a mid-handicapper, look no further.

At first I had a difficult time adjusting to these clubs. I disciplined myself to work at it and convince myself that if my swing was fine, the clubs would take care of itself. Boy, did they ever! I'm very happy with these sticks and have gained 10 yards in the process. Sure, the lower loft on these clubs may have something to do with it, but the pure feeling of a solid hit on a forged iron cannot be matched. For those of you that are contemplating on acquiring a set of these, do yourself a favor and get one. They are relatively cheap on eBay...I got mine for $400 brand new (including shipping to Hawaii). Allow yourself some time to get used to the look of the irons at set up. You will feel every mis-hit, so make adjustments accordingly and you'll be pleasantly surprised at the results.

I started out playing the Ping G2's last year after they came out. I came across the MX-23s at a demo day we had at our club. Tried them out and loved them. Two weeks later I went and made my purchase. I feel like it was a good choice. I have played about 8 rounds with the MX-23s and could not be happier. Very forgiving without the bulky look. Great Fell as well and I have gained 10-15 yards in distance. A great club!!

Have been using these for about 20 rounds now and have been very pleased with their performance. Had to reorient myself with the feel of the club because they are smaller and narrower than my previous set which were TM Ti Bubble 2's. These clubs are almost as long and are best hit when you're not trying to kill the ball. It is a great club for intermediate level players. There are certainly more forgiving clubs but very few if any, can be as buttery smooth. Give them a try.You may be pleasantly surprised. Oh by the way, their stiff graphite shafts are really stiff.

I'll keep this review short and to the point...If you are in the market for a new set irons, give these a test drive. Do not get intimidated by the forged look, these have nice correction ability and as they all say, there is no better feeling club. I have played them all, Mizuno makes an excellent product. Choose the proper shaft flex and give them a try!!!!
