I am 70 years old and at times during my life have carried a 1 or 2 handicap. My current handicap is 12. In the last several years I have owned many sets of irons from Ping G2 to Nike Slingshot. I always returned to my Callaway X14's with Rifles. I purchased a set of the MX23's with Rifle 5.0 shafts and played them for the first time today. I can only say that I wish I had never gone away from forged irons. The MX 23's are responsive and will really inform you where you hit the ball. They will remain in my bag. I could work them if I chose and I did not seem to lose any distance from the X14's. They are truly a wonderful feeling club and I probably will try the MP32's with the Rifles. Customer Service Haven't used but the custom shop took a long time to build my irons. Similar Products Used: Slingshot, Nike Hybrids, X16's, Ping G2's, Taylor RAC, X14's |

MIZUNO MX-23 IRONS
Had the MX-23 irons for about a month switching from ping i3 blades. I had some trouble with accuracy. The first round I had 2 balls hit the flagstick from over 160 yards. The feel of these clubs is fantastic and instantly cut 4-6 strokes off my round. From short to long irons they are all solid and consistent. They are also 10 yards longer than the Pings on a regular basis. I am a 7 handicap and feel that with these irons there's no limit how low I can go. I feel comfortable off the tee with the 3-iron that goes 220. Love them! |

I have been a Golf Magazine Club Tester in the past. I have tried most of the game improvement irons on the market. The MX-23s are the most outstanding iron on the market, hands down. There is no cavity back iron that comes even close to the feel (like a feather pillow) and playability of these irons. They are long, soft, and forgiving. They are worth the upgrade and the minor loss in forgiveness you might find in the Ping G2s, Cleveland Launchers, or Callaway X-14s. There is no need to even think about blades, these give you all the feel and way more forgiveness. Do yourself a favor and add these to your bag. I´ve been playing golf seriously for about four years now, and after a period of solid improvement I started to notice that I had come to a plateau as far as my h/c goes. I had been playing Taylor Made RAC´s for the past two years and after analyzing my game I realized that I needed work in two areas of my game; mid to low irons and of cours... putting. So I decided to work first on the irons since we all love to whack the ball. Anyway, I went on a quest to find the best irons in the golf world today. After trying almost anything you can imagine I came upon this awesome set of clubs. The feel and look of these is just incredible. It took me barely any time to get accustomed to them, and in a short time I was striking the 3 iron about 205 either straight or with a slight draw. The strong 2 degree loft added to the set helps to better define distance gaps and does a whole lot for your confidence (I am hitting the pitching wedge from 125-135). Note: Try the Raw Ox Wedges in 52 and 56, they complement each other beautifully. As far as feeling goes, I do not have words to describe the feedback that these give. If I strike it well I know were the ball is going. I thought the RAC with the whole ¨feelpockets¨ idea were good, but the grain flow forged dilly of the Mizuno´s is just worlds apart. Some reviewers wrote about how pricey these are, but if you make a comparison to the RAC line, they are either right there in the same range or even cheaper than the RAC CGB which go for around $1000. Anyway, I would recommend these to anybody who is looking to improve and get back to enjoying this crazy, challenging game we all love to hate (My first three rounds with theses were 84, 83 and 81. Now I just need to work on the puttskies). So whether you are a 25 handicap or a 5 handicap, give these a try... I guarantee you´ll see what I am talking about right away. I even heard that one of Mizuno´s team pros (I think maybe Paul Azinger) is using this model on the tour. Enjoy! Customer Service The best I have ever dealt with. Very friendly and helpful. After seeing my handicap go from a 11.6 to a 14.9 from this spring to late summer with a new set of TA2 went looking for something I felt more comfortable with. I was fitted for the TA2 by my local pro but after getting on the course they were not for me, don't get me wrong they are still a good set of irons but not for a 55 year old fat man that has an average swing speed with a 6 iron or 78 mph. The difference that has help me between the two sets are 1. switching to the dymanic gold lite shaft R300 from the standard dymanic gold shaft R300. I know it is only a few grams but it does seem to let me hit the ball higher. 2. the lower loft of the irons has made the spacing between clubs more consistent and has added 10 yards in distance in each club which in turn now has my 3 iron going 190 which is perfect as my 5 wood goes 205 before there was a 25 yard gap between these clubs. 3. With more offset I am no longer leaving the ball out to the right, either getting a straight ball or a slight 3-5 yard draw. These club have a soft feel are well balanced and easy to hit. I think that these club would benefits anybody be it a single digit player or a player who has trouble breaking a 100. By the way since using the MX-23 my handicap is coming down it is now 13.8 after only playing these irons for 4 round, I can feel the differencs. After a 10 year layoff we moved, joined a country club, and I bought a set of MP-30's. While I worked my way back into the high 80's, I used to be an 8 handicap, I knew these clubs were for a better player than I now was. Last week I traded for the MX-23's. My first round was 85, followed by 82, and I'm still learning the clubs. As others have said, it's absolutely true, I gained at least 10 yards, 150 went from a 7 to 8 iron with an easy swing. If I gave up anything going from the MP-30's to the MX-23's, its nothing I'll miss, my game is coming back and I love these clubs. My playing buddy is about a 9-11 and he hits X-16 Pro's. We have been almost dead even on distance, but I've gained a club on him top to bottom and he hasn't noticed I changed clubs, yet, but he did notice I beat him the last two rounds. The Mx-23's have changed my mind on using game improvement clubs, they have the feel of the MP series but are more forgiving, and I gained a full club. I recently switched to these clubs from the Nike Slingshots. This following a 2 year layoff. What a set of clubs. Nearly as forgiving as the Slingshots with the playability you expect from forged. Bottom line, my first nine holes with these clubs I was even par. Next nine holes not quite as good, but still ended in the mid seventies. These clubs are for real. If you're looking for a set go no further than e-bay. I got mine for $399. Similar Products Used: Cleveland TA3, Nike Slingshot, Henry Griffitts |
