I have been playing Callaway X-14's since 2001 and being as I play 2 to 5 times per week, felt that it was time for new irons. After reading many articles and reviews I decided to try these and I feel that I made a very good decision. I love the way I can now feel the ball on the club face. Everyone is talking about the extra distance, evidently I don't swing hard enough to see any extra distance, but I control these irons extremely and now am able to hit my 3 iron as well as any in the bag. My only complaint is the grips, I have replaced them with Golf Pride Whisper grips and I'm very satisfied. I chip with the PW more than I do with my Cleveland wedges because I like the feel so much. As for value rating - I got these clubs off of ebay for $485 shipped to my door, not bad for a $700 set of irons. I would only recommend this if you have been fitted before and know your personal specifications. I plan to stick with Mizuno with all of my iron purchases from now on. Customer Service Not needed. Mizuno MX-23 3-PW
I have this set 3-pw since May 2004 and just start to get use to them now. There are true to the words fabulous clubs, very forgiving and 10m longer then my old King Cobra II, with 2 degrees stronger loft then most brand helps. The iron is a heavier club then most brand, but well balance, sound and feel great on the average shots. I am off 12 my best ever was 11 with the Cobra but could not get any lower due to lack of distance. Based on the Mizuno stronger loft, forged Iron feel and Design, I took a punt on the set with DG-S300 shaft, with standard lie and length ( not a hit). So far it had paid off, I have had more birdies in one round then ever. If you like the feel of the club head, this is the club for you and to get use to the weight quickly you will need to work on your wrist strength. Ref. Explosive Golf by Michael Yessis. Personally I like the feel of the impact of the weight on the ball. I have tried my cousins MP-37 and MX-23 is for me and loving it. PS. Dont forget MP-52, MP-56 goes well with the set, best chipping iron ever. Customer Service Didn't have to use. Great Web Site, specification are true to the words. I do not have these clubs but have been interested in them for awhile now. I'm in between them and the MP-30. I did notice in the reviews that a lot of people were talking about extra distance. This would probably be due to the strong lofts of the MX-23. Just wanted to put that out there. Anybody try the mp-30 and this set have any info? |

I have these with the Dynamic gold lite shaft. They are a fabulous iron. i spent a lot of time researching, I wanted a game improvement club, even though I am a 6 handicap, because we all make bad swings when the heat is on, but I also wanted a forged club. So here is the deal, they are very forgiving, and they also have a lot of feel. Good shots feel phenomenal. Bad shots don't lose significant distance or direction, but you do have a good feel for where and how you missed it. When you miss a cast cavity back the feeling is vague, not so with this club. My favorites are the long and mid irons. If I had one complaint, its that the short irons look huge to me, I'm still getting used to it. I wish they would taper the size as the irons get shorter. All in all a great iron that can best be described as a perimeter weighted game improvement iron but with loads more feel. Customer Service Haven't needed it but they responded to my email very quickly. Similar Products Used: Callaways |

I used the MX-20's during 2003 and loved them. Last fall I started experimenting with graphite shafts and couldn't get the accuracy I wanted. In the meantime, the MX-20s went to my teenage son who loves them. So I read the reviews here on the MX-23s and decide to get a set. LOVE THEM! Great distance and accuracy. I think I'm getting 10 extra yards and helping to score (once I figure out the new yardages with them). I was missing too many par 3's long this past weekend. Great club! |

I just spent the last couple of years shopping for a new set of irons. Fell in love with the MX20 last year and this year tried the MX23 and never looked back. These clubs just feel great! When trying clubs last year, the salesman handed me over a Mizuno MX20. I wasn't expecting much, but the first few swings changed all that. The feeling at impact is just sensational. It has that buttery feel that can only come from a forged iron. Once you play forged, there is no way you can play cast again. Customer Service No Need...Yet! MX-23 Irons 3-PW
What can I say? I started looking at replacing my cheapo set about 2 months ago - tested them ALL out each time I went to the range - Cally's, TaylorMade, Ping, Adams, Cleveland, Nike, and others. Then a buddy of mine was looking at the Mizuno MP-33's. Since I'm not quite the same caliber player as he is - I tested out the "game improvement" irons of the new MX-23's and never looked back. Thereafter - it was trying out other clubs to see how they compared to the Mizunos. These reviews are accurate - the Mizunos simply hit better, straighter, and farther. I was shooting in the low 100's before I got this set - since then - I've shot a 94, 96, and a 90 - my lowest score ever. And I'm itching to go again because I KNOW I can get a lower score. My other buddy got the same set - and shot an 86 (normally shoots about 5-6 strokes better than me) - his lowest score as well. If you're looking for game improvement irons at a decent price - with the forged feel (you simply HAVE to try them out to understand - I never would have thought they made that much of a difference) - BUY THESE CLUBS!!!! I plan on owning these for quite awhile - and once they start to be transitioned out for the newer models - I'll probably buy another set just for backup - I enjoy them that much!!! Plus - I can actually hit my 3-iron - straight and true!!! It's a great feeling to actually start to get *constant* birdie and eagle opportunities! Customer Service Haven't used. Similar Products Used: Everything - NOTHING compares - seriously. Take these babies out to the range and out to the course 1 time - you'll never want to take them back! |

These irons are awesome! I have probably purcahsed my last set of irons. I didn't say I wouldn't try others, I just can't imagine anything feeling better at this point and I have tried them all. I was looking for a new set of irons tired of the same old game improvement cavity backs and loosing more and more distance (maybe an aging thing!) it seemed my ball flying was higher and higher everytime I changed clubs. I read the reviews here and other places and began to look at the Mizunos, worried I wasn't a good enough golfer to play a forged iron. I went out on a limb and purchased the MX-20's with graphite regular shafts and also the MX-23's with regular steel shafts before I ever had a chance to demo them. We don't have a local Mizuno dealer here for demoing or purcahsing Mizuno clubs. The MX-20's are great eventhough I have never been a graphite shaft fan in my irons they are good solid clubs with a buttery forged feel when hit them on the nuts, then I hit the MX-23's. Within the first bucket of balls I found myself improving my swing listening for that "click" and that buttery feel. Once you've felt it you'll keep wanting it on every shot. My distance is back I was hitting the Callaway Big Bertha 2002, 7 iron 140-150 yds. I am hitting the Mizuno MX-23, 7 iron 155-165 yds and with alot less effort. Mis-hits suffer in distance, make no mistake on this, but the irons really encourage tempo and smoothness in your swing and suddenly is seems a lot more effortless to make good ball contact. If I hadn't hit the 23's I would have been perfectly happy with the improvement of the 20's over my Callaways but I lost interest in the MX-20's when I hit the 23's. I am excited about my game again, I have called my golf buddy and served him notice, his reign with his Pings is over! If your worried about hitting a forged club STOP! at least go and demo the Mizuno's and they don't pay me to say this. I don't think you'll be sorry at all. You'll only be sorry if you can't afford the Mizuno's. I haven't carried a 3 iron in a while opting for a 7 wood instead. I did try hitting the MX-23 3 iron and have had some success still not equal to my 7 wood success but I am hoping with improvements in my swing it won't be long. I haven't played a round yet, hopefully I will today, but I know once I get distances down again that handicap is coming down! I am off in search of a better driver and fairway woods now. Good luck and give these a try if you get a chance. Customer Service Don't know Similar Products Used: Taylor Made LCG's, Callaway Big Bertha 2002, Mizuno MX-20, tried everything. |

Hit these irons on demo day and fell in love on first swing. Ordered mine with Dynamic Gold (I hit it high enough & wanted a shaft to help me hit a lower trajectory than the stock dynalite)S300 sensicore. Played today for first round with them and feel like i made the right choice. well struck shots go forever right down the line and mis hits stay fairly close to intended line but some loss of distance. i played my previous irons for 14 years because every demo i had with all & i mean all others just never felt right for me until i hit these. the sound these make at impact will take a little getting used to but all in all you can't go wrong if you decide to try these irons.
