Picked these up for a very cheap price. They are incredibly soft and look beautiful. They look alot like the original LT's at address but they are forged and have the TP insignia attached to them. Id recommend to anyone in the 70s cause ur gonna need solid ballstriking.

Maybe it's my bad luck, but my experience with TaylorMade has consistently been "show for a lot of dough" (with these irons, the R7 series of woods, and almost every other TaylorMade club I have ever hit). I was looking for a more forgiving cavity back with a forged blade profile to replace my aging Mizuno MP-14s. When I tested the TaylorMade TP2's they sold me immediately with their soft 1025 carbon feel and gorgeous looks. Unfortunately, I rushed to judgement as I had only tested these clubs indoors. When I took them out on the course, I was very disappointed by their performance - ballooning shots every time, very poor workability, and some 5-10 yards in lost distance. I also thought I liked that these clubs were extra heavy (like the MP-14s) to promote a more consistent swingplane. However, this only helped me to develop a golfer's elbow and arthritis since I was straining so much to produce a lower trajectory with a flatter swing. After a season with these clubs, where I repeatly struggled to break 90, I finally switched to the Ping s59s/G5s. Now I'm consistenly back in the 80's, the golfer's elbow is no longer an issue, and I am striking the ball better than ever.

Tried these out recently with a view to replacing my RAC LT's (which I hit very well, but very high!).

Very good clubs. They are strong and hit the ball on a piercing trajectory. You really have to concentrate and stay down and through the ball. Attemped swipes or slashes will be punished

I thought these would be difficult to hit, having previously found Mizuno MP32's difficult to master, but with a decent swing they are quite forgiving

These clubs are brilliant around the green and on knock down shots.

My LT's are going for a trade in.......

I have played many sets of irons. I prefer forged mostly because of asthetics. Now I have found a set of irons that are not only beautiful in looks but are fantastic to hit. I never thought I could be so blown away by a set of irons. It will be a cold day when I trade these irons in.

Customer Service

Have not used them but have used them for other sets and they are great.

Good clubs, but probably not for everyone. First, mine were made in the tour dept at TM, and I have project x 6.5's in them, and am playing them at a D4.5. Overall, these are nice irons, and pretty nice to look at, and the build quality is very good. I'm pleased with the accuracy, and the workability of the clubs, at least in the mid and short irons. But, I really don't care for the long irons at all. These irons have a tendency to hit the ball high, and this is magnified in the long irons, which causes all sorts of problems. Now, before you jump in and say that it is the shafts fault.... I have the same shafts in my Yonex tour (mid90's) and my mp33's; and I don't have this issue with those sets. Feel seems to be a bit muted compared to other forged “players” clubs, but they are still way better than any cast club. My only other complaint is that the topline isn't a solid color. Meaning, the color around the score lines/groves on the face extends up through the topline. I find it to be a visual annoyance, but a fairly minor one. If it was my 1K. I probably would have decided on another brand. But, there is no magic club that works perfectly for everyone, so I'd still recommend trying these out. Especially if you are a good low ball hitter looking to get the ball up a bit more. High ball hitters might be better suited to something else.

I was using the RAC CGB till October 05 and decided to spend some money on custome fitting and and upgrading. I have never looked backed. The TM Forged TP's have helped me cut my Hcp by 10 strokes in a matter of months, and I broke into the 70's last week. The clubs feel good, provide excellent feedback and controlling shots is a dream. If you miss-hit you'll know why too! All-in-all I've gained more consistency, more accuracy, and more important, more confidence. Get custome fitted to your swing and they'll serve you well. Happy Golfing!

These are the best irons I ever played ! After trading in the result of temporary mindloss (Callway X-18's) I had these fitted and must say that they keep amazing me every time I go out to play. Incredible look and feel and excellent control. You visualize the shot..close your eyes...hit the ball, and the result is evident...excellent ! Not for players with trouble "swinging" at a golfball...Hitters please stick to "golfbats" like my old Callaway X-18's. With these clubs one should get permission from air traffic control as balles tend to fly high (just like your handicap...) and out of control instead of far and controlled..... Into serious golf ? Taylor Made RAC Forged TP are the clubs to play !

I love these irons! For the last 4 years I have played my Mizuno MP 33's. I tried these at a DEMO DAY and was impressed with the feel and the workability. I bought some off EBAY for a ridiculous price I couldn't pass up. When they arrive they look as though they had never been hit! I was very fortunate to get these clubs for $421 including shipping! God bless EBAY! AT any rate, I took them to my Pro and we checked the loft and Lie ( something I have not heard mentioned from those of you that complain about them)had them adjusted to fit my swing, and I also had them bent a degree or so stronger to match my Mizunos which come from the factory stronger than standard. I am very please with the trajectory, I can hit them as high or low as I want. I have S300 shafts that fit me well. My shot dispersion is now a lot smaller with these irons and they give good feedback, I will have them for years to come. I tried the Mizuno 32's before I bought these as well as a couple of others. I do suggest that you have them fitted to your swing, and then and only then can you maximize your effort with these clubs. Peace

I have Callaway improvement irons - X12. I hit the ball high and quite long for a single figured Scotsman. As an observation, I see that loads of people on this site, who shoot in the 90's, hit the ball 300 yds. I reckon they must be as wayward as a bat flying backwards. Anyway, back to the point. My mates call me a ball striker, so I thought I'd try out the TP and LT's, thinking they might lower my high trajectory, but keep the distance. (I got a lesson and he said I should get a lower traj too). But they went with the same traj as my knuckle clubs, and although I had the money and wanted to spend it, I saw no difference in trajectory. (BTW - clubs in the UK cost so much more than the US, so its not such an easy purchase). The LT went the same length as my existing irons, and the TP less (but the TP looks like they would have spun the ball more). As a plus, both clubs gave better feedback (when I looked, the TP was a Stiff - perhaps why I lost length - and the LT Reg shaft). These TP clubs are either for Tour Pros (as the name suggests) or their crap, I don't recommend them for people who create alot of spin. Try b4 you buy! I also tried the r7, but my 580XD went better and is half the price. So as I say again - try b4 you buy. Then again you may get used to some things! I'm going to try out the Titelist, Callaway and Pings. I'll post a review on them soon. I cannot bear keeping my old set of Callaways. But if need's must!
