Titleist 731 Phil Mickelson Set Irons

Titleist 731 Phil Mickelson Set Irons

DESCRIPTION

The Limited Edition 731PM irons are a blended set of cavity back long irons, hybrid mid irons and muscle back short irons developed by Phil Mickelson and Titleist. These irons are the exact product specifications as Phil Mickelson who has been using them since the second half of the 2001 PGA tour season. The objective in designing these irons was to offer better left-handed players a more traditional blade iron choice.

The best left handed modern clubs ever made. I have some my father has some, I even bought 2x 2 irons new as I knew they would be impossible to find in future years. Even though my swing is short quick and bad the joy of hitting a good shot with them is immense. Find the 2 iron if you can

Great set of irons. I nice blend of muscle backs and cavity backs. Long irons have nice control and forgiveness. Short irons work the ball really well. Shorts irons are easy to work the ball from left to right or vice versa. The lofts are all about 1 club strong with the PW being a 45°. I opted to add 50°,56°,60° Vokeys. The short irons make a nice transition to Vokey wedges. If you are a solid ball striker, then you will appreciate the workability of these clubs. If your a high handicapper then you should probably look at a more forgiving set. These are really designed for low to mid handicapper.

I picked a set up on ebay, and these clubs are amazing. Before i got these clubs I had a 12 handicap. I played these clubs all summer and I droped my handicap down to a 4. The clubs allow you to spin the ball very easily and they give great feedback on errant shots. (they don't feel good on the hands) The ball flight off the face of these is lower then normal, but that really helps in the wind and it allows you to stop the ball on a dime. I would recommend these irons to the mid handicapper looking to be able to work the ball and improve there game. If your a high handicapper, I would recommend you pass on these as you have to be able to hit the sweet spot everytime.(if you don't, you will feel it in your hands everytime). All in all, great set of clubs, and you can find them for great prices on ebay.

Customer Service

I bought these irons new just about a year ago and have been completely satisfied with them. Going from a set of clubs 14 years old bought out of an assemble-it-yourself catalog to a set of Titleist blades was a huge change. The first round I played I noticed I was able to control the ball flight with much more precision than with my previous clubs, on shots ranging from low cuts out of the trees to high-altitude wedges to tight pin locations. The first time I hit the PW (151 yards to ctr of green) the ball backed up about 6 feet. The next short par 3 was a 9-iron 162 yards over the water, same result. With my old clubs, spin like that was only possible on soaking wet greens. I normally play inconsistently (only get out about once a month) but my skills are advanced enough that the "game improvement" irons are not for me. This blended set was a perfect fit, allowing for precise control of ball flight and spin while inspiring confidence at address. Since I bought them my swing mechanics have further improved, as these irons do require you to make a good swing to get the benefits they offer, and provide wonderful feedback on off-center shots. Overall, I have found these irons to be excellent for me and I would recommend them either to low-handicappers or golfers like myself who have the skills (if not the consistency due to lack of playing time) to need precise control of ball flight and spin. Plus they look great (slightly larger and more rounded than a normal forged blade) and may even increase in value over time, as a result of that small "pm" engraved on each iron. If you can get your hands on a used set, go for it.

Customer Service

I bought them from an Edwin Watts store. The salesman gave me what he purported to be a custom fitting. This essentially involved me hitting about 10 shots and the salesman remarking no adjustments were necessary, after complimenting my swing. But otherwise the experience was pleasant even though I tried out several sets, which took quite a while.

Model Reviewed: Titleist 731 Phil Mickelson Iron Set

I just picked up a set on eBay. Very good value ($300) for PW through 3 iron. As soon as they arrived I went out to play them. I hit a dozen balls on the range before my round. They are a stronger loft than I was used to so it took a couple of balls to get my distances right. The ball flight is lower and boring with much more spin. I shot one of my lower scores of the year with these clubs. I only expect better results as I get used to them. I would highly recommend them for low to mid handicappers due to the smaller club face.

Wow. My wife will be sleeping on the couch because her spot in bed will be filled with these irons. It's about time us lefties get a great iron exclusive to us. My right-handed friends are as jealous as can be. These things are greatfeeling, solid and surprisingly forgiving. The blades are simple to hit and the ball flight is a perfect, low-mid trajectory. Phil did right on these. I usually rotate my irons, due to boredom. My others are Ping i3's, Nike Pro Combo and Snake Eye's FMC-1. No more rotating here. It's Titleist or bust from now on. Too bad they are not made anymore. I'm gonna look for more sets so I'll never be without. Awesome.

Awesome clubs, great, immediate feedback.First day with the clubs shot a 77 on a long tight course, best previous round at same course was a 91. I have always had a hard time hitting long irons. On a 555 yd. par five,I was attempting to lay up from 235 out with the 3 iron, figured I would have 50 to 75 yds left for my 3rd. shot, instead I was pin high 20 ft. from the stick, best feeling I have had on a golf course. Overall clubs were 15 to 20 yds.longer than anything I have ever played before. Needless to say I am selling all of my other clubs. If you're left handed and have decent swing speed, you need to try these babies, you will never look at another club the same way, these are the best clubs I have ever played. Good luck and have a Grateful Day!!!!!!!!!!
