Heavy, Stiff, & sensitive irons. For real low-handicappers who has consistent shot making, distance & trajectory. These offset blades give you little touch of other blades. that's the worst thing. Excellent for improve your swing, but not for a game or championship. And watch out for the pain of elbow.

Customer Service

Titleist supply very poor service in Korea for the reason of exclusive dealer. Hope improvment with Titleist Korea.

These are very serious clubs. I have had these for about 5 months now and have to say these are very accurate, and have the ability to work the ball. Great looking traditional head size. These clubs have some weight to them as well wich tends to smooth out your tempo. I have the tri-spec regular flex shafts whick are very stiff for a reg. flex. My swing speed is about 102 and I love the regular shaft. Anyways these clubs are awsome if you have some game. If you dont, just go buy some sticks at walmart.

The best of the DCI line. 2003 Open champions (Curtis). I'll never understand how Titleist went from these to the 762's and 822's. Those offerings were horrible. No wonder they got out of the casting market. Anyway. If you are considering going from oversize CB's to blades, try playing these for about a year or so. Makes for a smooth transition. My only complaint is they are hard to work. They are workable, but it takes alot and once you go to true blades, you have to scale it back a bit. Very forgiving. I hate giving them up, but it's time for the real thing. Good job Titleist.

AWESOME. Perfect sized head, great distance and high trajectory with solid hits. At least a club longer than my old irons. When you hit the sweet spot an addictive twang can be heard, and the feel is great.

This club is not for beginners. Once you hit a bad shot, you must know that as the ball will not fly. But once you hit the sweet spot, you can feel it and see it. the ball will fly straight. It is best for improvce your swing.

Good club. I purchased the set knowing they were over my head due to their flat sole and shot toe to heal length. I must say, they are helping me learn to swing better. Those addictive good shots are getting more frequent and I get consistent distance and accuracy. As far as distance of the clubs, are all of you considering the angle of the club face? Different manufacturers will use different pitches on the face. This can be (intentionally) misleading. If you need a 5 from one manufacturer and a 4 from another - big deal. You will get to the pin in the same number of strokes.

Been playing with these for almost 2 years now and seem to be consistent and accurate compared to my previous irons. Distance control is consistent but average only for length. Doesn't seem to be as forgiving...lose distance when you miss the sweetspot. Playing with standard tri-spec regular shafts. Recently tried hitting Cleveland TA7's next to these and those went farther. IF accuracy and consistency is what you want, this is a good choice. Not for those looking for extra distance.

These clubs are by far the most balanced clubs I have hit. I have been golfing for 20 years and have played several top brand name clubs. The first time playing with the 981s, I noticed better balance in the club, better feel for distance and far better accuracy! These clubs are great! Thanks Titliest!

Difficult to hit for the high handicapper. Mainly because of the head and the heavy shaft. But when you connect with one....butter. Not recommended to the below average player.
