These are such great clubs, the balance is exact and they feel great, though i am now running into a bad habit of hitting the ball a little high, but thats not the clubs fault, if anything these clubs can make you what you wanna be!

I've been playing from the beginning with the Apex Blades and in Apex's I'll love the excellent feeling what you get in good shot. The Apex's are a bit difficult, so if you miss the sweetspot, the shot can be an awful one. Now I've been looking a new irons and I ended up testing DCI 981 irons (3-S) with the regular ironshafts (Apex with the firm ones). Wow. Just yesterday I played my first round with them and I made my best record ever. With the Hogan's my scores usually were somewhere between 86 - 95, but now 79 :-) The biggest difference comparing to Hogan's is forgiveness. DCI's are much more forgiving than Hogan's. You won't shoot as long, but the shots are much more accurate, at least in my case. The feeling is almost as good as with the Apex, but what wouldn't you do to lower your scores and make more solid shots? DCI's are easy to hit and easy to control. You hardly ever make terrible mistakes. I would recommend this irons to everyone, who want's their game to be more stable, at least what comes to the irons.

I purchased these clubs after reading some of these reviews and I have been playing them for 2 months now and I love them. I have dropped 7 to 8 strokes off of my handicap since I started playing these clubs. I guess this is what you pay for when you go with better equipment. Since these irons perform so well I'm looking at completing the set with the woods now.

I got these at the beginning of last year after playing an old set of Pings for 12 years. The clubs are very consistent with good accuracy and average distance. The sweet spot on the lower irons is a bit small and I have found them more difficult to hit than the rest, but this is normal for the long irons for me. I have been able to spin the ball easily with the 981s and the distances hold true even for shots slightly out of the sweet spot. It took some work to get used to these clubs.

Ever since I got these clubs a couple of years ago in high school, i have had quite an interesting relationship with them. I loved them when i first got them, then i started to play bad so I tried out the callaway x12s and ping eye 2s for awhile, (both sets belonged to friends of mine). What I came to realize was that it was me who was playing bad, and no club in the world is going to make you play good. With that said, I went back to the Titleists and made the commitment to work on my game. Now I am currently a six. Let me tell you, these clubs are not the flashiest, longest, most expensive, etc... However, they are deadly accurate and if you make the commitment to put time into your game these clubs will reward you immensely. I am able to easily draw and fade balls with these clubs and also get good spin too. Distances arent amazing, but the accuracy/workability these clubs provide more than makes up for it. Overall great clubs, would recommend them to mid/high handicaps cause they will punish you if you suck.

Customer Service

Emailed titliest once, took forever for them to respond. Guess they were to busy kissing Davis Love's a$$ to get back to me. Whatever, their clubs are still sweet.

This is a response to MarkDel's review on these clubs. As you can read in his review, he claims he lost distance with these clubs. (something about not being able to carry 150 with the 8 iron while he can easily with his other clubs) He claimed that it was the club and not him. It was this statement that caught my eye. It is completely inaccurate. In this day and age, as we all know, it is impossible for a golf club (especially of this caliber) to perform as he described. Golf clubs are capable of unimaginable distances as we can easily see everyday by guys like Tiger or Ernie. In a case like this, it's the player, not the club. I played the 981's for 8 months last year and my 9-iron and wedge carried 150 easily on a consistant basis. I'm not writing this to stir up trouble, I just wanted to set the record straight for anyone who's opnion on the 981's might have been altered due to that review.

Very big sweet spot. Rarely hit an off-center shot. The weight of the club is excellent.

I was fortunate enough to be spending the weekend at a golf course that had a Titleist fitting center about 2 years ago. I wasn't really looking to buy new irons, but thought it would be fun to be fitted. At that time I was playing pretty well - shooting mid to low 80s. Nothing spectacular, but I'm not being paid to golf, so good enough for me. The irons I was playing at that time were TM Supersteels with graphite shafts. Nice clubs, not a lot of feel, but hit the ball very long. While being fitted for the DCIs, the golf pro found that my swing is 2* flat. Suddenly things made sense - when I missed the green it was usually to the right. I decided to order the 981s - 4-PW,GW,SW,LW - S200 dynamic gold shafts. What a set. I've lost at least one clubs distance throughout the set compared with the supersteels, but the control and feel more than make up for it. I now can pick a spot on the green, decide what trajectory I want the shot to have and execute the shot. Never before have I done that. These irons have improved my game dramatically. I worried about the lost distance at first, but realized that the iron game isn't about distance - it's about accuracy. And to be accurate you must be confident. These irons have given me both - accuracy and confidence. After a rough season last year, just had laser eye surgery, I am confident that "shoots in 80s" will soon be "shoots in 70s".

I purchased these irons about four years ago and absolutly love them. They are a little heavier, and have a very nice look to them which gives me confidence over the ball. Combined with the ProV1, I have a very high boring ball flight.
