Titleist DCI 990 Irons

Titleist DCI 990 Irons

DESCRIPTION

From Titleist: The 990 Iron features a "variable muscle back cavity with progressively biased weight throughout the set. Long irons are weighted to promote playability and higher ball flight. Short irons are weighted to produce lower, more controllable ball flight. Traditional V-grooves for consistent trajectory and spin performance."

Just traded in my 981's for the new 990's, with the tour flighted Rifle 6.0 shafts, and hit the range today. Wow, what a club. I loved the 981's but wanted a lower flight, for our Kansas wind. These irons are remarkable..and the most consistant performers I have ever owned. Their natural pattern is a soft draw, but you can hit any shot with them...and they will not balloon! The feel is like butter, and the Rifle shafts probably have a lot to do with that. I would recommend this shaft to anyone. This is Titleist's best club to date, as I have played them all! I play the 975D, Vokey wedges, Scotty Cameron Teryllium putter...and now the 990's. Best equipment on the market.

Customer Service

These clubs are exactly what they claim to be a players club, so all the bad reviews high handicappers aren't surprising, if you can't hit a game improvement club don't try a blade style club.
These irons are simply the best out there bar none whatever you put into the swing the club gives back, What more could you ask for? These work the ball wonderfully producing any shot shape with the minimum of swing changes. Fades, draws, high, low, releasing, or checking can all be accomplished with just simple grip, and or hand adjustments. For those who say these have a harsh feeling or no sweetspot go get some lessons and actually find the sweetspot for once these are the closest to fordged you get, superb feel with the standard dynamic gold, but for a real treat try sensicores the combination is out of this world.

Customer Service

outstanding I had a fully custom set including lie, length, swingweight, and custom grind in my hands within two weeks of ordering.

A great set of irons, better than the 962b design which I played for a couple years. You can pull off any type of shot you want with them, and for those of you who also play Titleist equipment, you know what it's like to catch one on the sweet spot. These irons are a blade design but offer a considerable amount of forgiveness for the player in the 0-15 hndcp category. A great club, as is all Titleist equipment and they are worth the price. For those of you who are still patiently waiting for Titleist to come out with forged irons, I'm sure these will satisfy you until then.

Customer Service

Titleist tells me they hope to come out with various finishes to their vokey design wedges and that they also will possibly come out with forged irons and 970 model woods to hopefully improve upon the 795f model fairway woods.

Great club for the golfer with a consistant swing. I would not recommend them for any beginners because they are very unforgiving on off center hits. When you hit them well it is the best club in golf.

This is probably the best iron for advanced golfers with good control. The long irons are harder to hit when compared to callaway, but the crispness and workability of the 990 isn't even comparable.

Customer Service

I Haven't had to cantact them, my irons have been perfect.

these clubs are relatively easy to hit. when you hit the sweet spot, they go nice w/ a mid traje. they are not forgiving, and are not that easy to work. i only reccomend for 12 handicap or below, and reccomend all golfers go try mizuno and hogan clubs because they atre the best made

Hits 20 yards further then my old titleist irons. Not very forgiving though, designed with better player in mind. Easy to work the ball as well.

I've love these irons if i want to hit a fade they fade if i want a draw they draw, the distance is great i hit my 5 iron about 230 off the tee and i am 14 yrs old, they are forgiving as long as your not too far off the sweetspot. i hit these irons mid to high ball flight. not sure why other reviews and even titliest say low to mid flight. and they are as soft as butter feels like forged to me.
