DESCRIPTION

From Titleist: The 990 Iron features a "variable muscle back cavity with progressively biased weight throughout the set. Long irons are weighted to promote playability and higher ball flight. Finally i bought this set!!!!!!! I love these clubs, they are so nice, they have a very sweet feel, the ball flies farther then i thought(5-190y), and it is perfect for your golf game, all around. It is very easy to create your own shot with this club, and stop the ball on the green.

A GREAT IRON. MUCH BETTER WITH SENSICORE THAN DYNAMIC GOLD. IT MAKES THE CLUB FELL MUCH SOFTER. FOR THE BETTER PLAYER THESE CLUBS ARE A MUST.

I played a set of revolutions before I got these and the revolutions only hinted at the tricks you could pull off with a great set of irons. Big draws, slow fades, knockdowns, they are all here. Excellent shot control. Hit them in the sweet spot and they feel superb. Long irons (mainly the three) take determined effort to strike consistently. These clubs just make you want to swing better because they feel and look so good. Distance control is fair with heel and toe shots at about 90% distance of club potential. If you have hit the 975D driver then you will know the feeling of a well struck shot with these irons. That satisfying thud. There is a variable weight pad inserted in all of the irons that promotes high trajectory in your long irons and flatter trajectory in your short irons. Stick all those "weight pads" in your bag and you'll know it. Heavy. Good irons for good players. I love them.

These are the first blades I've owned. They are everything a great club should be. Great swingweight, feel, and performance. I was worried about stepping up to this level of club, but, these are truly enjoyable to hit.

Customer Service

Fast response and very thorough.

I am 16 year old high school student who plays on the golf team. I bought these irons a week ago and spent 3 days on the range to get used to them and I love these irons. With a smooth swing these irons feel like butter. I would recommend them to anyone who has a smooth undercontrol swing.

I found these to be excellent tools, with a complete package of distance, feel, consistency and accuracy. Unforgiving? YES,in distance(up to 30%), and feel, they have not been treacherous left or right once I got my timing adjusted to the minimal offset. Good shots feel like breaking an egg, bad shots can numb your hands with stock DG shafts. Sensicore stays out of the way except on jarring hits, leaves just enough punishment to make you pay attention. I personally chose DG over Rifle because Rifle accentuated the head-heavy nature of the club too much for me, YMMV. I have plenty of time to spend at the range, so in spite of my high handicap, I felt these were something I could work into, and the effort has been rewarding, a good 5 iron goes 200 yds and lands soft. I paid $679 3-pw (+$50 for Sensicore), custom fit, 5 business days, as promised, BUT...WRONG GRIPS.

Customer Service

Check for fast-track account status before you order, some shops wait 3-4 weeks for custom orders.

I went shopping for a new set of irons this week and tried at least a dozen different iron sets, ranging in price from $300 - $800. Among the ones I tied, two sets distinctly stood out: 990 and 981 (both Titleist). What I noticed was that these were both bottom heavy, which gave the feeling of the ball being scooped up from the ground. The 981 is a bit more forgiving than the 990, but lacks feels. The 990, on the other hand, has more feel and power, at the price of some forgiveness. The 990 with Dynamic Gold shaft is a winning combo!
