I started playing golf at 18 using cavity backed clubs, now, at 23 I use the Titleist 670 forged irons. I got the chance to hit these at 21 and I feel encouraged by the feedback I get to take a leap foward with these. The 670's give me more control due to the weight of the clubhead and the feel is enhanced on mis hits. There is little forgiveness so swinging on plane will eventually result with consistent practice but I would only recommend for expirienced golfers. These clubs are for natural ballstrikers with high clubhead speed at impact. Lastly, I feel that these clubs give an aggressive player the ability to shape any shot so they are perfect for players seeking to shave more strokes off of their handicap.

This is the very best forged iron I have ever played! I played MP-29's. MP-33's, 681's, 680's and 690's and although I had reasonable success, nothing like I am having with the 670's! The feel is perfect! The swing weight is just right! The ball flight is amazing! I usually hit the ball a bit low but with these, the flight is up at a Pro Trajectory that allows the ball to get the maximum distance! I can shape the ball both ways! On off centered hits I still get most of the yardage I am trying to achieve! The feel at impact is the best I have experienced with forged blade clubs. I am a 5 handicapper and prefer a blade to cavity back clubs for the looks and the performance! If you are a good ball striker give these a try. You will love them!

These irons are fantastic! Solid and crisp, yet soft feel. Unlike Titleists newer blades which have extra toe weighting(which can cause the occasional shot to flip off to the left), these are more neutrally weighted which I prefer. The trajectory is medium/boring, and like all better blades is very workable. The forgiveness is better than one would expect for such a relatively small clubhead, but these clubs are for intermediate to advanced golfers who practice a lot, and not for beginners. I also own the 695MB, but actually like these 670's better. Don't be put off by the description that these are only for steep swing downloaders--I have a sweeping style swing, and these work for that style swing as well. Even though you won't find this club advertised for sale much if at all, you can still buy these from any Titleist distributor--you just have to ask for them! Great, great irons, you won't be disappointed if you buy these sight unseen!

These are the finest blade irons I have ever hit. The easy swing produces great flight trajectory. The clubs stop on the greens like nothing else I have ever hit.

This was my first set after taking a 10 year hiatus from the sport. So I was coming back as a newbie / very high handicapper. I figure that learning off a blade/muscleback would force me to groove my swing quickly, which it did. A month into using these clubs I was hitting the whole set pretty well.

A couple of months went by and my swing took a turn for the worst. I don't blame the clubs. I know these clubs are top notch, and when used by an experienced ball striker, magic can be accomplished.

These clubs were not a good choice for my skillset. When things started going wrong, I knew what the issues were, but I could not easily resolve them because the margin of error was very small and I'm just not that good of a golfer. There's no feeling like losing confidence at the top of your swing. We all have those, but a blade / muscleback magnifies these negative thoughts exponentially. I'm sure I could have eventually resolved my swing issues, but doing it with these irons would have taken a lot of time, effort, pain and intervention from the local golf pro. The time and effort is expected, but the pain sucks. And I don't need the local golf pro telling me what I already know, "you're not ready for these clubs."

I love these irons. I have great trajectory control with them, especially with the x-100's. These blades have a small head, and a rounded toe which look very clean when adressing the ball. The cmm material is extremely soft, and when you pure these irons it feels amazing. As with most blades, they are a little less forgiving, so if you are not a strong ball striker I would advise not to purchase these irons. If you are in the market for blades I would also recommend the new titleist blades 695mb's, and the mizuno mp-32's.

I got set of vintage blade set from family and another vintage set from a yard sale that stayed in the garage for several years until i got invited to play golf. My gear must have really appeared vintage to some of the stangers i played with in the "single" lines gave me unsolicited avice: get a set of Titleist or Calloways. At that point i haven't hear of CBs or "game improvement" irons or forged. I really had no clue. I aspire to be a "social golfer" enjoying my rounds with the goal of few good shots in a game. I would also like to be able to shape shots eventually, but that is a lofty goal that will come with time. My point is that I'm not intrested in "forgiveness" in my irons. I want a set of irons that'll communicate to me how well or not so well my swing is. I understand that learning golf with so called "player" blades may "slow down" my golf progess. So be it: I'll enjoy the perhaps longer journey and I'm willing to pay the price: nearly daily practice or play, taking more golf classes, and instructions. I (five of us, actually) took a golf class. Tried several different kinds of irons and even purchases a few 6-iron for some play testing. I was advised to buy 704.CB or 804.OS irons or even Mizuno MX-23: tried them...all are excellent, esp. of note is the Ben Hogan Apex FTX. I've found that CBs were just as challenging to strike with as are blades. Perhaps a skiled glfer can tell the difference...this hacker thinks it doesn't matter: just go with your gut feeling and what looks and feel right and don't look back. After a few years I'll know what to do and then I'll be able to order a custom set from either Titleist, Mizuno (MP-33), KZ Golf, or Miura...another words something traditional looking with modern forged, but with "weaker" (48* PW) lofts...even historically weaker lofts (51* PW and so on). So my path to golf is to start with a set of irons that will improve my game by being communicative...imparting feel and demanding concentration. Occasionally, after a nasty result from a swing...I wonder if I'd relish the tiny bit of more forgiveness that MP-33s may offer...and then i strike my 670 3-iron 180+ yards down the FW on a par 5 and all is well again. Occasionally, when i push my Mizuno MP 56* sandwedge, one with such a huge club head that looks like a blade shovel, i realize again it's the swing that needs to get reliable, nothing more. After two months, i've grown to like my 670s. I've added a 2-iron to my bag, a 690CB S300 (performs & feel good, but does not look nearly as cool as a 670). Too bad that Titleist does not offer a 1-iron, so I'll likely buy a Ben Hogan Apex 50 1-iron or a KZG ZO 1-iron, when I am ready. I've been golfing now for fours months. I've yet to break a 100 with tournement-like application of USGA Rules. I feel this benchmark is approaching, so to speak. So far, although my "bottom line" scoring have leveled off, i feel that these 670 forged irons are improving my game as my iron plays are getting more consistant (esp. compared to my erratic wood shots). Big thumbs up for 670 forged for feel and performance. Duffers in a haste to improve their score look else where. These 670 forges blades satisfy..like having a good plate of grass-fed free range beef ribeye served with orgaically grown steamed potatos and kale, served with a neat of single malt scotch and orgainic porters...products that have been made with good process in mind, without haste. "in God we trust"

Customer Service

Customer Service is good: I called once --someone in Titleist advised me to buy the 804.OS (or 704.CB)and recommended that i do not purchase 670s.

The courses we play are all pretty lush and soft. The 670 design is the best of the blades for this type of turf. Very solid feel and excellent trajectory control. I will switch the stock shaft (TTDG S300) with a lighter weight steel or standard weight graphite to make it easier for this old man to swing.

Customer Service

Purchased on eBay, no customer service. These were a little rougher than advertised so I am having them refinished.
