My search for irons is finally over. It took me over 6 months to have finally settled on a set of irons that I'm just complete happy with. These irons are not difficult to hit AT ALL. The announced offset at first turned me off, I guess that's why I didn't try them sooner. What a mistake. After I got past that issue, wow, these irons simply perform. High decisive draws, or low punch runners. These irons truly give me the confidence of striking the ball at will. I've also owned the Mizuno MX-23's, MX-900 and the Cleveland CG4's. And I truly believe the 804's are better. Give them a try. These are still pricey at the golf stores. You might find a set on eBay slighly used for around $400.

I own many sets of irons, my garage looks like a small golf store. So I've played or owned them all and I'll say this about the Titleist 804.OS- They are the most forgiving irons I've ever played. You can 'Happy Gilmore' these and hit them pure. They also provide great feel, making them a very unique iron. They look somewhat game-improvement at address but not as much as say a Callaway. These clubs are perfect for anyone up to a 5 handicap and a scratch golfer may even be suitable for these sticks. I compare these to Ping's I3 os but these are slightly superior. A little more feel and you can work the ball a little better with the Titleists. I personally like the semi-gloss stainless finish, also. I re-shafted mine to a stiff DGS300 to get a lower ball flight but I hit an extremely high ball so I had no choice. Most should be fine with the stock shaft. Unless your preference is a blade, these are a great buy and I would recommend these over any other club.

After an exhaustive search to replace my stiff shafted Cleveland TA7's (which I loved but needed to reshaft to regular flex), I've settled on Titleist's 804S irons. I've now owned them for about three weeks and I couldn't be happier. In that time, I've played 3 rounds and hit them at the range a fair bit and they just continue to feel better each time I take them out. Like other 804 owners, I was torn between the slight amount of offset on the 704 while the 804 was far more pronounced. Despite their "game improvement" look, these clubs simply strike the ball beautifully with excellent feel due to their forged steel castings and the regular flex Nippon shaft really helps to get the ball up into the air. These clubs also prove that building in a slight amount of game improvement is actually beneficial for most golfers that either lack the skill, practice too infrequently or occasionally arrive minutes before a tee off time with little or no warm up. These deficiencies are not what most avid golfers would like to admit but that's the reality of todays busy world. I have found that the Titleist 804's not only add a high level of forgiveness for these times, but that they also add a level of universal playability that belies their forgiving nature. I recommend them highly to those who need a little more help with their game, or those that can play a decent round and want excellent accuracy yet are are afraid of the "game improvement" stigma. Folks, these are really nice irons on their own merit and I commend Titleist for creating a club that feels every bit as good as the best performance clubs on the market while maintaining a high level of playability for anyone between a 5 to 20 handicap.

I purchased these clubs in like new condition on EBAY last year shortly after they were introduced for under $400.00. I am very happy with these clubs. I will not claim that these irons are any longer than any others I have hit, but I wasn't searching for long hitting irons. They are average in that department. They are however very easy to line up, and have very clean lines. The Nippon shafts are a good fit for these clubs, and a good fit for me. I was torn between these irons, and the 704 CB's, mainly due to the fact that I like the minimal offset on the 704's. The Dynamic Golds in the 704's are not for me though, and I wasn't about to pay $800+ to special order a set of 704's with the Nippon shafts from Titleist. My set has standard Titleist specs, which I believe is a little more upright than many manufacturers. After a year of pulling shots, I will soon be altering the lies to suit my swing. Overall, highly recommended.

Clean lines would be the first thing you notice about these clubs. A thicker topline does the usual "confidence at address" log and it's big head is not too big. I usually use a regular shaft but only a used set of stiff 804s were offered at this new/used golf shop. I always thought that I needed a -2 flat lie angle because of a fitting day at a local golf club suggested so. After going to "2nd Swing" in search of new clubs they gave me a few pointers and checked my lie angle. I needed an even flatter lie at -3 degrees. I picked up a few clubs to try out namely '04 berthas, TA7s, NDS and these. I had been using Ping G2s at the time but being the equipment junkie and not hitting the Pings very well gave me another reason to go searching. I'm SOOO glad I did as these are the softest feeling clubs ever. Even with a S-flex shaft I can hit these consistently. 85mph which is my average swing speed gave these clubs incredible distance. After the pointer(s) the golf pro gave me, I must have hit 8 out of 10 shots near perfect with the 3 and 5 iron. These things are great for a high handicapper like me and I'm glad I got them even in stiff flex. I love the feel of these clubs! Thanks 2nd Swing in Harrisburg, PA! You guys are great! Golf Review is not shabby either, I'm on here everyday in search of tips and club reviews.

I picked my set up at around 30% off the retail price because it is a set of demo (but only the 7 iron was used - barely). I figured that I will give forged irons a try after playing with CB for so many years. After 5 rounds, here're my opinions: Distance - similar to my Callaway X-16 Feel and feedback - butterly and soft Workability - tremendous both ways and great distance control for pitch shots Visual at address - clean line and pleasing It is undoubtedly a nice set of irons to have in my bag.

Model Reviewed: Titleist Forged Stainless 804.OS

After much research I decided to buy these wrenches. Similar models tried were RAC OS, Mizuno MP23, Ping G2, Cleveland TA6. None had the feel of the Titleist 804. TA6 and MP32 were both close seconds. Could not beleive the enjoyment I had when I got them to the course. Ball flight is super straight with great trajectory (no ballooning here)along with ability to work the ball if needed. Nippon shafts are an excellent addition to these clubs. But the feedback these provide is what I truly think is what makes these babies shine. If you catch the ball on the sweet spot the feel is like hitting a marshmellow. No vibration to worry about. Forged clubs are definitely the way to go. Toe/heel shots have an unmistakeable feel to them without losing alot of distance. I would highly recommend these to anyone with a 5-20 handicap. 704 OS would be a great option for the lower handicap golfer. Butter soft feel, forgiveness, and good looks (Like me), whats not to like. Well done Titleist! These clubs add tons of enjoyment and game improvement to a game I love. Thats the idea right! Titleist has done a great job with these irons.

These are the best game improvement clubs Titleist has put out in a long time. They set up like a blade at at address. You can hit just about any shot with these clubs. Draw, fades, knockdowns...etc. They hit the ball high with plenty of carry. They also come standard with lightweight Nippon steel shafts which are one of the best shafts on the market today. Wonderful feel with shaft dampening characteristics similar to sensicore but without all the weight. These are good for low handicappers as well. Some low handicappers don't like the offset but I know a few low handicap golfers who play these clubs and the offset doesn't bother them in the least. Demo a set and get fitted for your game. You won't be disappointed. Excellent irons all around.

Bought these after trying Sling shots, MX-23,Callaway big bertha and TA6's. I always when back to the 804's for FEEL. Played DCI black (stiff) before and they 'rang' my hands too often on mis hits. These 804's (reg shaft) very seldom give you a jar except on the worst mis-hits. Distance control is amazing! If I do hit thin, the ball just comes in lower and ends up at same yardage as if I had hit flush. When hit flush ball flight is good and high. The best word for the feel of these forged irons is 'Butter'. Most adictive club I've tryed.
