Cleveland RTG Wedges

Cleveland RTG Wedges

DESCRIPTION

Cleveland Golf's RTG Wedges are the most played wedges on Tour. Their non-chrome finish creates a more abrasive surface resulting in greater spin and a very soft feel.

I was terrified of 50 yards and in with my old Wilson Fat Shaft 60 deg. lobe wedge because I frequently went over the green, hit the green and bounced off, etc. Although the Clevelands seemed to be a lot of money for a wedge, I took the plunge. Clevelands give you confidence. It gets the ball put in the air and sets it nicely on the green. This club took 10 strokes off my game. I used to frequently 2 and 3 chip (under 50 yards). Now it's rare. I can honestly say chipping has gone from one of the worst parts of my game to one of the best parts. And out of the sand, I just open up the face and lift the ball right out even out of deep bunkers. I can't say enough about this wedge. Spend the extra money and treat yourself to a club that truly offers game improvement.

Took this out for a test round and just had to buy it. A great all-round wedge for any shot from 100yds and in. Excellent for short pitching and chipping too with soft feel and true ball flight. The check was impressive using a Callaway HX Blue. It has seriously improved my short approach play!

I love my 53 to use out of the fairway (about 100-120 yards) or for chipping. It seems to have the perfect bounce and feel for those purposes. However, I don't seem to be as effective with the 56. It seems to have too much bounce. I have recently began using a Nike Forged 60 instead of my 56 with much better success.

i got this club in May for my B-Day and they have improved my short game tremedously!!they check ever time out of the sand and almost every other shot. The 60 degree makes my flop shots easier than ever. And now after a good time of rusting, my backspin is unbelievable!! i chip so well know that it makes my putting a hell of alot easier by making those long 20 foot pars go away. And know i start to build more confidence!! Be Careful though the RTG metal is really soft so its easy to put big gashs in it.

Excellent wedge. I have heard that higher handicappers should not play lob wedges. I used the 588 for the first time yesterday and it contributed to what was shaping up to be a record round. Offers great control, stops the ball pretty quickly. For the price paid, it's unbeatable.

Picked this wedge up at a bargain price on ebay. My initial concerns that I wouldn't notice the difference between a top-end wedge and other wedges were swiftly allayed after a few hits on the range.....this is an awesome club and immediately improved my shooting from 100 yards and in - extremely easy to hit accurately and distance control is a doddle. It instils you with confidence every time you address the ball. With a full swing the ball was stopping dead on incredibly fast Muirfield greens so it's great for going right at the pin. This has quickly become the favourite club in my bag, it's so versatile from any surface: sand (a friend commented that i should aim for the bunkers a la Gary Player rather than going for the pin!), the fairway and the rough, and is great for flop shots. Undoubtedly the best and most enjoyable club I have ever used, it can do anything and will knock shots off your score. Beats the Vokeys hands down. It's a touch on the expensive side but everyone should pick this club up if they can get a reasonable price

The dark rusty head makes the ball stand out at address. Nice solid feel at impact, very reliable distance with pin-point accuracy if struck well. Mis-hits are forgiving on distance but not direction. The rust does help check the ball within a foot of the 1st bounce on the green. Still can't make the ball spin back, which obviously requires more than just rust :-) ie. better golfer. Though not as effective from green-side sand bunkers as my old Ping Eye2, the RTG does an excellent job in landing the ball close.

Customer Service

No experience so far. The wedges are flawless.

This is the best gap wedge I've ever used. I use it for just about every shot from 100 yards in (excluding sand). It is especially deadly from greenside chips, regardless of the lie. I have saved more pars with this club than any club I have used. Cavity back wedges that come with iron sets suk in comparison.

These wedges are great all-around wedges. They are appropriate for just about any golfer from the PGA to beginners. The only turnoff is that they are not inexpensive wedges. Despite many people saying they suck the ball back 10 feet, it does not for me and probably won't for 95% of the golfers out there. A full 56* shot of mine usually travells about 100 yards and takes one bounce, checks, and stops. There is no elaborate suckage. The wedge feels solid. Not soft and certainly not hard, but has a nice solid feel. Mis-hits are felt, but are not punishing to your hands or to the results. It has taken about 5 months for the wedge to be completely rusted over. There has been no noticable difference in feel or spin with the rust present, but there is definitely no glare. These wedges are great wedges and its high-end competitors include the Titleist Vokey design, the new Taylor Made RAC and a few others from Callaway and Ben Hogan. Cleveland is the leader in wedges and their products are worthy of that recognition. But don't base purchases on reviews. Try before you buy, and you probably won't look far elsewhere.

Customer Service

Decent. Nothing spectacular, but certainly adequate.

I lost my mizuno mx20 pitching wedge, could'nt wait for a new one so purchased the cleveland RTG in a 59 degree loft wedge(the lowest loft the shop had). This club is amazing, now I know what it feels like to achieve backspin. what have I been missing!
