if the feel is inconsistent from one putt to the next try using a forward press...the face angle/loft at impact has a lot to do with how this face feels at impact, and also is critical to putting the ball a consistent distance. When I bought my first gap and sand wedges, all I really considered was that they 'match' my irons. I was (and still am) playing Tommy Armour 845 OS+ irons, so when I found the 845 V-31's I got them. I figured a wedge is a wedge, right? I think they were in my bag for about 5 seasons.

But as they got older and started getting worn, I decided to look for replacements. I knew full well that the 'big' names in wedges were Cleveland, Titleist, and Mizuno. Being a bit of a cheapskate when it comes to golf, I looked for something used but still in good condition on ebay. And they had to be left handed.

One thing I did know going in was that I wanted the wedges to have a sole grind that would facilitate opening the face. I had learned with the Armour wedges how this really helped in certain situations. That narrowed down my choices to the Cleveland DSG and Mizuno C-grind wedges.

So it was kind of by chance that I wound up with the Mizunos. If I had only known what I had been missing all of those years! I don't know exactly what it is about these wedges, but they are like night and day compared to the Armours! It could be the sole grind, the smaller head size, or the fact that they are forged. Whatever it is, it quickly became clear that these wedges work so much better for any kind of shot. When the ball is on the fairway, a nice easy swing results in a solid hit with a perfect divot. When the ball is in the rough, I now trust that these wedges will slide easily through the grass and lift the ball out. While I learned to live with the Armour wedges, I accepted the fact that every once in a while I'd either chunk or blade a shot. With the Mizuno wedges, I now look forward to making the next pitch or touch chip shot!

I've waited a while to write this review. I've played several wedges over the past 5 years and while Cleveland, Callaway and Titleist Wedges are very good, they aren't as good as the Mizuno MP series wedges.

The performance of these wedges are exactly what you expect. They will not eat the cover off your ball like a Titleist Spin-Milled wedge. They exude confidence when you look down at them and they are simply Mizuno quality through and through.

The heads are not super heavy, but you can feel them at all times during your swing and I especially like chipping with these clubs. Good bite around the green and good accuracy from 100 yards in.

If you have problems getting spin on your chip shots, these may not be the club for you. You may want to try a spin-milled Titleist or something that will produce more backspin, but if you're in the market for a pure wedge that plays true, then you can't beat the Mizuno MP Series for quality and price.

This club has given me a short game. I can pop the ball up and it lands on the green.

Sometimes I hit it short, but the direction and flight are always true.

This is in my opinion one of the premier wedge choices if you like to play more than just a standard high shot. It has given me the option to hit it high, hit a low spinner, or somewhere in between. Into the wind it holds its trajectory well. The product of Mizuno's truly unequalled forging process is one of the sweetest feeling wedges around.

I have the mp-60 lob wedge and love it, from around the greens and up to 75 yards out it a dream to hit. I use this club on almost every hole a must have for any experience level. i had a cast lob wedge i really like but after buying one for my son and using it, what an excellent club.

Earlier this year changed from MacGregor GW,SW combo to 3 wedge Adams Tom Watson system (50*, 54* & 60*). I really liked the improvement in my short game but found that in a typical round I would primarily stick with 2 of them and not touch the 3rd. Which 2 varied from day to day. I ran into these wedges on a used rack for a really good price, so I tested them on the practice green for about 1/2 hour. I found that with the 58* I could easily reproduce the shots I was making with both my 54 & 60. Actually the feel, touch and control were much better. Needless to say for $35 each (including new WINN Arrow grips installed)they went in my bag that day. Played 3 rounds with them so far and love them. Looks: Classic and handsome. Feel: There is nothing better than "butter". SPIN CONTROL: When you want it. Distance: Actually more distance then expected on full shots. 58* (95 to 105). My confidence is much improved with these wedges and I'm able to execute various shots that I could only visualize before.
