Ping Hoofer 2 Bags

Ping Hoofer 2 Bags

DESCRIPTION

From Ping: "Redesigned for 2001, the Hoofer2 is the ultimate in carry bags. Its name comes from the "hoof" shaped design of the bag bottom -- a design that gives this bag characteristics unlike any other. The Hoofer makes club removal and insertion easier with a FULL body-length divider and by providing more separation for grips at the bottom of the bag. The bag has a shape which rests comfortably against the golfer's body while being carried. At the top of the bag, an elongated four-way club divider with soft cover provides greater club separation, making locating, removing and replacing clubs easier. The soft cover is also removable for washing since dust and dirt can scratch graphite shafts." Additional new features for the Hoofer2 include, a "Trunk handle" on the base of the bag, to aid in removing your clubs from the trunk of your car, and a water bottle holder.

First of all all the college players don't get the bags for free, none of them do. They get them at a discount of about 40 dollars. I got mine in with my highschool name and colors, and my name on it. Lots of pockets. Stands well and it is very comfortable. Best bag on the market. If Tiger had to walk a course with out a caddy what kind of bag do you think he would use?

I got the new hoofer off ebay in the black and tan color. Let me first start by saying it doesnt look like it does on the website, the material looks like it was one of those gucci purses. I promptly traded it for a gray and black model. Ive used it for about a week now and havent had any complaints, it squeaks a little since it is new and isnt broken in. It holds 14 clubs pretty easily, the full length dividers are a bonus. It has a lot of little pockets and stuff we will never use but hell its a golf bag. I would reccommend getting it to a person looking to get a quality bag. It all boils down to its a bag, it aint gonna help your with your swing but hey, you'll look like a good golfer!

I have no idea why people are putting up bad reviews about this bag. I carried the orignal PING Hoofer for three years and loved every moment of it. I recently bought the Hoofer 2 and i am even more pleased with this one. PING took the already best bag out there and made it better. The full length dividers make it worth the money right there. But PING also added a waterbottle holder, extra pockets, and the ability to carry it with one strap. This is by far the best bag out on the market right now and it is definately worth the hefty price.

WHAT IS EVERYONE'S FACINATION WITH THE HOOFER 2???!! THE NEW VERSION WEIGHS 5.75 POUNDS, WHICH IS NOT ALL THAT LIGHT. BELDING'S BALANCE MAX BAG WEIGHS 5.75 POUNDS AS WELL, BUT (1)HAS ARE FAR MORE COMFORTABLE STRAP THAT IS EASIER TO PUT ON, (2)STANDS UPRIGHT INSTEAD OF FALLING OVER IN A GOLF CART, (3)HAS FULL LENGTH DIVIDERS (PING IS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT HASN'T HAD THEM FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS!), (4)CONTAINS A WATER BOTTLE HOLDER (THAT IS INSULATED, PING'S ISN'T), (5)CONTAINS JUST AS MUCH, IF NOT MORE, STORAGE SPACE, (6) AND IS MADE OF DIAMOND RIP-STOP, WHICH IS A MORE TEAR-RESISTANT MATERIAL THAT HOLDS IT'S COLOR BETTER THAN CORDURA OR CANVAS.
DO I WORK FOR BELDING? NO. I MANAGE A GOLF STORE IN ST. LOUIS AND JUST AT RANDOM GRABBED THIS BAG TO COMPARE AGAINST THE NEW HOOFER 2. THE HOOFER SELLS MOST PLACES FOR AROUND 160-170. THE BELDING TOPS OUT AT AROUND 140.
WHY DO SO MANY COLLEGES KIDS CARRY THE HOOFER? THAT GET 'EM FREE FROM PING!, WITH THEIR SCHOOL COLORS, AND NAMES MONOGRAMMED ON THEM. IF PING GIVES ME ONE, I CARRY IT!
IF YOU ARE A WEEKEND GOLFER LOOKING FOR A BAG THAT MUST DOUBLE AS AN EXCELLENT STAND BAG BUT ALSO A MORE THAN ADEQUATE CART BAG. LOOK ELSEWHERE! IF YOU ARE A TYPICAL "PING CLUB PLAYER" THAT WANTS EVERYONE TO KNOW YOU PLAY PINGS, BECAUSE IT'S WRITTEN ON YOUR BAG, BUY THE OVERPRICED HOOFER 2. YOU'LL LOOK REALLY COOL, TRUST ME.

Extremely annoying that the dividers are only at the top of the bag. At the moment i only use 11 clubs and still the clubs get tangled at the bottom. However, there is plenty of room with waterproofs, shoes etc and the dual strap makes it very easy to carry. A decent and VERY light bag.

A great bag. My last Maxfli bag lasted 2 months before tearing at the handle. Had to buy this one when I was paired up with a guy who had used his Hoofer for ten years.

You pay for quality. This bag is worth every penny. High quality linings, zippers, and stiching. The stand mechanism is attached to the entire base of the bag, thus eliminating a major breaking point with most bags - a flimsy plastic bottom hindge. It's just a solid bag I'll use for many years.

Well, I read these review and just don't get it... I can't see why these people knock the Hoofer 2 yet only one review recommends a better bag (Belding Max). I have personally carried the Belding Bag and the only thing that bag has on the Hoofer 2 is the backpack style straps and maybe the fact that it doesn't sit upright in the cart very well. To those people I say get yourself a quality cart bag if your complaints are it doesn't stand up in a cart. IT'S NOT PRIMARILY DESIGNED FOR A CART. And people complain about the umbrella holder. When is the last time you've had to use your umbrella on the course? Leave it at home. The comments about the water bottle holder, DRINK BEER THEN IF THAT'S ALL YOU HAVE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. And even one review says the dividers are not full length. DUMMY!!! YES THEY ARE!!! I have graduated from the original Hoofer and I choose the Black/Flax Color. Not only is it sharp looking but it's very functional. If you put the straps on correctly, you won't even be able to tell it's on you back. There is just one problem I have with the bag and that's the rain cover. Damn thing looks retarded. I would though recommend to Ping that they look into making the Hoofer 3 with Backpack style straps though just because they are a little easier to get into. No other complaints.

Great lightweight bag for walking. Straps easily adjust. Plenty of storage space. Full-length dividers seperate clubs nicely. Easily holds 14 clubs, a ball-retriever, and an umbrella for rainy days. Appears to be well made. Water bottle holder should be insulated.

Best bag I have ever owned, roomy but not bulky. The dual straps are easy to get into and do a great job. Easy to carry it by one strap as well. Good storage space and the bottle holder works great when you have to carry your cell phone! Was switching bags on a regular basis, but no more!

Some People are Bozo's saying that this bag is not good. I my self have had a Hoofer 1 for the past two years. I think this bag is amazing. Ping took the best bag on the market and made it better. The bottle holder is a great idea and the personal pouch for valuables is a wonderful adition, not to mention the full length club divider. So, if you say that this bag is not the bomb, and its horrible, then you have to be the biggest idiot in the world. Because this bag is the bomb and I do not know what I would do with out it.
