Bought a sleeve of these at Golfsmith for 10.50. My game is improving so I thought I'd see what a premium ball was like. I play a fade and was a little worried the greater spin on a tour ball would hurt my game. WOW was I wrong. My drives were very straight. This ball has great length, maybe not the longest of all the balls I've tried, but very respectable. What made a real difference was the iron play with this ball. Beautiful ball flight, never strayed from the pin..and then just stuck. (no, it wasn't wet). I shot a 77, I'm usually in the mid to high 80's. The ball held up well, I played the same ball all 18 holes and it was very used looking, but, hey, I'm not used to to even having the same ball for 18 holes so what would I know. I think it's a winner. I was softer than the NIke Plat.and the TaylorMade TP Black. I reviewed the TP Black as well (Greeeaat Ball).

Bridgestone has developed several models of balls that enhance various parts of your game, but the 330 is the best of the lot. Most scratch golfers use the ProV1 as the "gold standard." The 330 is probably not as performance oriented as the ProV1, but get you over 95% of the way there, and they don't cost quite as much either. I have started to concentrate on my short game, and these guys love to stop on a dime. A little firmer than some other premium balls, but not too much that you would dislike the feel. Out of sand, fairways, light rough, you can depend on them holding on. Give them a try, judge for yourself.

Best to all !

I bought 70 of these used but mint on ebay. I had been using Hogan Tour Deeps but wanted to try something different. I prefer to save money but play expensive balls. First round out I made an eagle on a par four. That was luck, but I am happy with these balls. They do feel a bit harder than the Hogans but they certainly stop on greens which is what I am looking for. I find that I can adjust to any ball that I use putting. When I can get a quality ball for $100 for seventy, I am one happy golfer.

I tried this ball with high hopes, but to be honest I was not impressed at all.
I was happy to find one on my course as I had been wanting to by a dozen to try. The ball did not have that good of feel to me and felt a little hard off irons for my tasted especially in comparion to a ball I love... Srixon Z-URS. It putted okay. I can't say that it was any longer than the normal balls I play. I will say it had great spin even on mis hits. I wouldn't say it is a bad ball, but I was disappointed.

Great ball, first of all, it does feel a little harder then most balls in this performance category. But, distance is pretty good and i was actually spinning back on most of my wedge shots, most iron shots stopped within a foot of where it landed. Not getting a lot of side spin off the driver either, so drives are pretty straight. Overall, if you don't mind a slightly harder ball, it performs like crazy. It putts well too, sank some crucial putts today in my round. Shot my (woohoo) current all time low of 81 today with this ball with one blow up hole of 4 over. So i'm giving it a thumbs up, plus it's a good value as you can find 3 12packs for a decent price on ebay. Oh yeah, i did scuff up one ball pretty good, the wedges do seem to chew up the urethane cover pretty easily, so they aren't the most durable. But who cares, they perform at a price point of more expensive balls.

My Driver Club Head Speed=110mph
Current Driver Nike SQ 10deg Stiff Stock.
Typically score high 70's to low 80's.

The B330 (non S) is the most amazing ball I have ever played, and I have tried lots of balls. The thing people need to realise when reading ball reviews is that they need to know their club head speed. A ball that performs brilliantly for me may be a complete dud for a player with a lower club head speed. I previously played the B330-S which I thought was great. However, after doing some research, I realised I might get more out of a higher compression ball, hence the switch to the regular B330. The impact this ball has had on my game is phenominal.

DRIVER: The tragectory off my driver is about 15% lower. This wouldn't neccessarily be a good thing, but this ball just stays up for ever and when it lands it rolls out much further. So the result for me is a wind cheating, boaring trajectory with greater carry and roll. This has resulted in at least 20yds more off the big dog.

APPROACH SHOTS: This ball spins like crazy for the fairway. I love tons of spin on approach because it can bail me out on poor shots. I thinned a PW from 140 out, moderately downhill, 10mph wind behind. The ball never got more than 20ft high. It hit in the middle of the green, bounced 12ft and just stopped dead! I can back this thing up 3-4 feet out of light rough on 100-140 yard approaches.

FEEL: Firmer than I am used to but not distracting, especially when it performs so well.

Durability: Exceptional. Never scuffs on aggressive wedge shots.

If you have a decent swing speed, you can not lose with this ball!

This ball, the regular B330 and the Wilson Tx4 are the best at holding their line in the wind (compared directly with ProV1, U-Tri Tour, Hex, One Platinum and Gold, Srixon Hi-brid tour(an old wound ball), NXT Tour, Hogan Hawk).

The Hi-brid Tour, Hawk, ProV1 are softest in that oder, with the B330s, One Gold and One Platinum tied for second. Third in softness is the NXT Tour. In fourth is the U-Tri Tour. Fifth = the Tx4 and regular B330 with the Hex in last place. NOTE: Soft Feel off of the IRONS, (especially 3-8) is the MOST important aspect to me with STRAIGHT off of the driver a close second.

Distance off of the irons is longest with the ProV1 and older One Gold (average of 5 yards over second). Second is the One Platinum and Tx4 (average of 2-3 yards over third). Third is the B330s, Hex, B330 and old U-Tri Tour. All of the others bring up the rear cluster between 1-5 yards back typically (the Hawk being shortest).

Distance off of the Driver has the B330 and Tx4 as the longest with the B330s, U-Tri Tour and Hex tied for second an average of 5 yards back. The One Platinum, ProV1, NXT Tour are third in this category. It should be noted that the ProV1's I am talking about are older versions, I have not tried the Newer 06-07's. The Hawk is the shortest as I simply over compress this ball that was made for 90mph swings.

Side spin off of the driver is lowest with the B330, B330s, U-Tri Tour, Hex and Tx4 and they all go straight for me (no more than a 5 yard fade/draw). The other balls, especially the Hi-brid tour tend to fade or draw 10-15 yards off line. The Hawk was the best of this group, averaging only 7-10 yards but I couldn't live with the loss of distance and loss of spin on the greens for my chipping.

Chipping/Putting: Best as in consistently closest to the hole is the ProV1. The B330s is second. There is a tie for third with the following: One Platinum/Gold, NXT Tour, U-Tri Tour. Fourth is the Hawk. The Hi-brid tour is fifth as it spun too much on chips and would consistently come up short and it was NOT a very good putting ball, often short and off line. The Hex and regular B330 putt fine but chip terribly for my weak short game (which is the cause of my higher handicap).

Durability: This simply isn't a problem for me typically so I don't rate this. It wasn't even a problem for me with older balata (Dunlop, Titleist, Hi-Brid Tour) balls that I've practiced/played with in my 9 years of golf. Oh, if people think that ONLY hitting down on the ball is the mark of a good swing then I guess Byron Nelson and Moe Norman amongst others stunk (NOT, LOL)!!! Of course you WILL generate more backspin that way which can help in holding greens but that typically isn't a problem with the premium balls anyway.

Final grade: B330s is best as it is close enough in the short game and superior in the driving game with enough of a soft feel off of the irons to just edge out everything else FOR NOW. I REALLY want a softer feel off of the irons and better chipping and putting consistency. The B330s holds it putting line very well but its feel doesn't help me get it consistently to the hole.

The short game prowess of the ProV1 FOR ME and it's SOFTER FEEL off of the irons make me want to try the new 07 or older 06 models to see if it will also go straighter off of the driver consistently then the models 3-4 years ago did.

If so I MAY switch BUT before I do that I would need to test the 07 versions of the B330s and One Platinum which are supposed to be softer and a little longer. Also, before a switch is made I would like to test the Srixon URS and TM TP Red, however, based upon their reviews on this site I do not think they will be as good as the above three.

Model Reviewed: Both Tour B330 & B330 S

After having played the ProV1 for a couple of years, I decided to try both the B330 and B330-S back in early May and have stuck with the B330-S since. Distance is every bit as long as the ProV for me, but gives up a little in feel and spin. I hit the B330-S as far as the regular B330, and decided against continuing with the B330 because it was a firmer ball with less feel. The B330-S has adequate stopping power with the 6-PW, and feels good off the putter. Since playing with it I have had my lowest round ever of 77 and have not been higher than 81. I have confidence with it and will continue using the B330-S.

I tried this ball after playing the e6 for about two months and was very pleased. I dropped 13 shots from the previous round and hit 5 GIR (normally hit 0) on the same course. The greens were much slower than my normal course, so the harder feeling off the putter probably helped in that case. I also made an adjustment to my swing, which probably made most of the difference, but I feel the ball helped. I quit the game for about 3 yrs and started again about 3 months ago, so I'm subject to wild ups and downs.
I found the distance off the tee as long or longer than the e6 and Pro V1 and straighter. I have a high swing speed, which seems consistent with most positive reviews I've read.
The take away of my review is that from my experience and reading other reviews, high swing speed is essential to reaping the benefits of this ball, only way I can explain how a high-handicapper like me can see any real difference in a ball claimed for lower-handicappers.
I also found them for $29 a dozen, that helped in my descision to give them a try.
